From Bad to Worse: Her Beta Chapter 16

Her Beta

Chapter 16:

I looked around myself disoriented. I was in some kind of dark room, laying on a cot of sorts with a blanket over top of me. As I sat up, I placed a hand against the side of my head and squeezed my eyes shut. It was when I reopened my eyes that I noticed that there was a chair sat near the end of the bed. A chair that was occupied by a bulky man that I wished I could get away from.

"Oh, you're awake. I was so worried that that moron had hurt you too badly that you might not wake up. I am so relieved that you are finally awake, my little girl. And you never have to worry, that moron whom grabbed you and jumped out a third floor window has been dealt with. He will never have a chance to hurt you again." The delusional rouge whom my mother and I had been running from for thirteen years said as he moved from the chair he had been in to on the cot with me.

"Where's my mom?" I asked terrified. I was hoping that she had not been taken with me. I was hoping that she was in my father's arms safely.

"Your mother is being held by a brute. My men could not get her before he grabbed her and took her away somewhere we can't find, for now. But don't you worry, we will get your mother soon enough. And then we will all be a perfect family." He responded with a smile. I nodded my head hoping he would leave the cot soon.

"How long have I been asleep?" I asked still afraid.

"I've been watching over you for almost four days now. You were badly hurt when that idiot jumped, so you've been out for almost four days." He answered running his hand down my cheek. I felt disgusted by his touch because he was not my father and he would never be. But I tried my hardest to make sure that I didn't flinch so that he wouldn't hurt me.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"We're home, finally. I have brought you home, little girl." He answered with a smile. He was happy about his answer, but it only made me want to cry. This is not my home, and it never would be. "I'm going to leave you to rest a little more, and then I will bring you to meet the boy I think will be perfect for you. Don't worry about a thing." He spoke before he got up and left the room I was in.

So my mom was safe, which was perfect. At least I didn't have to worry about her being in danger as well since she was safely in my dad's arms like I'd hoped. I was scared to know what the pack would look like now if it was even still standing at all. But I was terrified about what that delusional rouge had said more. He was going to come back here to get me so that I could meet someone that he deemed to be worthy of me. He was choosing whom I was to be with despite that this guy would not be my mate, and I didn't think that this guy was worthy of me.

I carefully got off of the cot and walked to a window that had been illuminated when he had made his exit. I pulled the curtains a little ways away from the window and peered out to see that it was a first floor room next to a thick forest. The forest looked similar to the one back in my dad's pack, but I wasn't given long enough to analyze it enough to tell. The delusional rouge walked through the door again and beckoned me to come to him.

Afraid that he may hurt me, I walked to him and let him take my hand. He pulled me from the house, and he began to bring me to a house about two stories high. He let himself in and pulled me after him into the house. I was beyond terrified about the unknown that was to come.

We walked into a large open room that could have been a living room if there were any couches and tables in it, but the room didn't contain anything other than a male wolf about a year or two older than me standing in the middle of it. The male looked at the delusional wolf that still held my hand in his as if he were a despicable bug. He looked less then satisfied at the wolf before his eyes moved to me and a whole new expression appeared across his face.

I froze as the young male's expression held a look of interest within it. I didn't like the way this male was looking at me and wished that I could just be back in Oliver's arms again. I watched warily as the male lifted one of his eyebrows up as a smile slowly spread across his face. "Lucian, you kept raving about your supposed daughter and how beautiful she is. So I asked you to bring me your supposed daughter. Is this her?" He asked in a deep voice never allowing his eyes to stray from me.

"Yes, this is my daughter Victoria. She is even more beautiful now that she has grown into a woman." The delusional wolf answered happily. The male's eyes still didn't stray from me, but my eyes jumped to the men that moved into the room around us. Lucian seemed to not mind the men being there because he just kept his focus on the male in front of us.

My heartrate began to skyrocket in my chest from fear. What was going to happen to me? Why were there this many men surrounding me? The men didn't look anything like any of the delusional wolf, Lucian's, men; they looked as if they lived in a normal pack just like the young male still standing and watching me.

"Lucian, why don't you have your 'daughter' come closer to me? It's not as if I mean to hurt her." The young male spoke opening his arms up in front of him slightly. Lucian seemed more than happy to give me to this young male as he shoved me into the young male's arms. The male caught me and helped stand me up straight again. Once I was able to stand on my own two feet again, the young male held me at arm's length and looked into my eyes. "Is this old wolf your father?" He asked me gently.

I didn't know if I should speak out loud or not, so I was afraid to answer this young male. But I was also afraid of what he would do should I choose not to answer. I shook my head in disagreement to the young male's question. The male sighed out and looked behind me at Lucian and the men, but I was too afraid to move. The male looked back down at me before spinning me so that my back was to his chest as his left arm held me tightly at my waist and his right arm held me diagonally across the top of my torso. My arms were being held down to my sides.

"This young lady says that you are not her father, Lucian. So why have you chosen to lie to me?" The young male asked his deep voice causing vibrations to go through my back. I stayed tensed in his arms as I looked at Lucian.

"I am not lying to you, Lord Adams. Her mother is my wife, and she is my daughter. I have no reason to lie to you." Lucian responded back almost pleadingly.

"My mother will never be your wife just as I will never be your daughter! You took me from my parents! I'm only happy that you didn't get my mother as well because at least she can be happy and safe from you in my father's arms!" I screamed at him as the young male still held me tightly in his arms. I couldn't stand listening to his lies about my mother.

The young male, Lord Adams, continued to hold me tight against him until my rushed breathing slowed down, and I'd mostly relaxed back into him instead of struggling to get out of his arms as if to rip Lucian apart. I could feel his breath on the side of my neck as he seemed to watch me in his arms. I could feel his gaze on me as I still breathed slightly heavy. I felt him shift his arm ever-so-slightly to hold onto my waist even tighter to him and his hand to rest upon my neck with his pointer and thumb holding the corners of my lower jaw.

"Well Lucian, I believe this young lady far more than I believe you. She has proved to me that you are nothing but a kidnapper to her. You see, the passion behind her words shows me that you are lying to me, and I really hate liars." Lord Adams spoke, the vibrations of his voice from his chest even stronger now that I was so closely held against him. Lucian looked as if he was about to argue, but the male holding me spoke before anything could leave the delusional wolf's lips. "Men, take care of this liar before I am forced to do so myself. I do not tolerate liars; you are to inform the people outside these walls of his crimes, and you are to take care of anyone whom believes his punishment was unjust. I will be in my quarters seeing to this young lady and what she needs. Do not disturb me unless it is of utmost importance, am I understood?" He ordered.

A chorus of 'yes sirs' rang out around us from the professional looking men. The young male slowly released my waist to take my hand as he released the rest of me from his hold. He turned me to look at him and pressed a kiss to my knuckles before he led me out of the living room by the hand he'd kissed. He slowly walked us up a set of stairs to the top level and down a short hallway to an office like room. The room only contained a simple wooden desk, a full bookshelf, and a few seats to sit upon.

The young male let my hand go as I began to look around the room a little more. I walked up to the bookshelf and looked at all of the names printed on the spines. There were extremely dusty old books to fairly newer classics. The bookshelf also contained a lot of open space for more books. The desk had a simple office chair behind it that seemed to be well used. I turned to look at the male still in the room with me.

"If you go through that door over there," he said pointing out a simple door across from the bookshelf, "you will find a full bathroom. This room was supposed to be a small bedroom, but it was remodeled into an office. There is soap and such in the shower if you'd like to clean up. There should also be a set of new clothes for you to wear in there. I'll be here for when you are done." He spoke with a kind smile.

"Why?" I quietly asked not moving from where I was standing next to the desk.

"I had a feeling that that delusional liar had gone off and kidnapped an innocent girl that he had convinced himself was his daughter and that he would bring her here to me. So I prepared all this to ensure that that girl, you, could clean up and be freed from him. You also have a fire about you that just makes me want to help you get away from him and all that trouble he's caused you even more." He replied with the same smile.

I nodded my head in acknowledgement before I walked into the bathroom he had pointed out and locked the door. I started up the shower and took my clothes off before jumping into the steady stream of water and closing the curtain. I slowly took a shower to make sure that I got all of the dirt and grime off of me after these last few stressful days.

Once I was finished, I stepped out and dried myself off with a towel I'd found. I grabbed the clothes that were set aside for me and put them on. The undergarments were surprisingly my size as were the rest of the clothes. I tugged the long stockings provided to me onto my feet and up my legs before tugging the warm dress over my head. I continued to fiddle with the top of the dress to make sure that it didn't show too much cleavage as it continued to try to do. Once I was satisfied enough with my reflection, I walked out into the office again.

"You look amazing." The young male's voice rang causing me to jump slightly. I turned my head to see that we was standing two to three feet from me. I smiled in acknowledgement of his compliment. "I'm sorry if I frightened you. But you do look amazing. I'm glad that delusional man wasn't a total liar. I'd asked under that pretense of curiosity what size you wore so that you would have something to wear. I'm glad it fits." He spoke gently.

"It's a little on the top and a bit shorter than I'm used to, but thank you for getting me something to change into." I replied thankfully. He smiled at me with a light nod. "Though I must ask, why is this outfit only red?" I asked curiously. My mom had once told me that red for werewolves was meant for an intended bond, or it was worn to signify that one was engaged at a party or celebration. Only red was not meant to be worn casually.

"To signify to everyone whom you are, you are to be my intended." He spoke matter-of-factly. My eyes widened at his response. What was he going on about? "Just because that wolf was delusional, it does not mean that he didn't do as he had been ordered to. This may look like a pack of rouges working together, but it has never been that. This is the Drakel pack; one of the most isolated and spread out packs to exist. My father was alpha until I turned eighteen almost three years ago, but he gave that delusional wolf an order before he passed the pack to me. My father ordered him to present to me a female worthy of being at my side." He informed me with a straight face.

"I can't stay here. This is not my home, and I do not belong here." I harshly replied back at him.

"Oh, but you do little one. Lucian did not fail in bringing to me a female I would find worthy to stand by my side. You are to be my intended Luna, and you are to stay here." He said with finality. He began to walk slowly toward me. I backed away from him until I felt the wall behind me. I knew that I could fight off any female wolf or an unsuspecting male, but I knew that I would lose against this male whom had cornered me. He leant his head down to mine. "I refuse to let you leave little one, and you are to be mine in every way I want you." He whispered into my ear.

I am SO sorry that I haven't posted in a while! Things have been hectic the past week! I have so much to do! And I have so many things that I need to study for! I'm sorry it has taken so long. Anyway, I also wanted to wait and see if anyone has read the question posted at the end of chapter 14 and beginning of chapter 15, but it doesn't seem like anyone has. I will inform everyone at the end what my decision is. The song is from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan.

What do you think of Lilith's predicament? What do you think is going to happen next? Do you think Lilith will get saved? How?

What's your favorite color? Or what's your favorite type of ice cream?

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!
