Chapter 19

The End: Her Beta Epilogue

Her Beta

A/N: I wanted to inform you that this is a REALLY long epilogue, but it will feed into what I have planned. The song above is In the Name of Love by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha.

Epilogue:

"Zander if you put that in your mouth again, I will put you in time out!" Audra's warning rang loudly through the house. The next thing I knew, the said little boy came bolting over to me with a crayon in his little hands. "Baker, can you please help me take care of your little siblings?! You are their big brother; they look up to you, so please help momma take care of Zander and Zana." Audra begged from the other room.

"Auntie Lil! Auntie Lil! Momma Auntie Lil is here!" The little three year old yelled out in joy upon seeing me. Immediately a three year old little girl came running my way as well; a huge smile spreading across her face upon seeing that her twin brother wasn't lying. I laughed at the two little ones as they jumped onto my legs tightly. I looked up just in time to see an eleven year old boy come barreling for me as well.

I caught him before he tipped me off of my feet. I wrapped my arms around him back as I smiled at all three of them. I looked up at the doorway once more to see Audra letting out a relieved sigh before smiling at me as well. She shook her head in disbelief at three of her children as they hugged me tightly.

"Well hello you three. You better not be causing too much trouble for your momma. Because I'm gonna have to have your Uncle Oli come and getcha if you are, and you know what he'll do once he's gotcha!" I told them as they all squealed in laughter. I just laughed with them. I felt a small little hand stuff a crayon into my hand and almost laughed even more. "Why don't you go get your daddy? That way he can get off his old butt and say hi like he's supposed to." I suggested as the three of them bolted off to get their father.

"I don't think they do anything that fast unless you or Oliver asks them to?" Audra said with a laugh.

"Where's Willow? I wanna see my adorable four year old niece." I asked with a smile when I suddenly felt something heavy being placed on my back. I suddenly heard a bout of giggles and gasped in fake surprise to receive even more giggles. "There she is! The beautiful little Willow Lakes! How are you pretty little girl?" I asked as Oliver helped me get her off my back and into my arms.

"I'm good! I've been painting again! Will you come see?!" The little four year old exclaimed. I nodded with a smile on my face as she immediately jumped out of my arms and went to grab her art.

Audra smiled as she watched her little girl run off happily. She turned back to me with a wide smile before a look of surprise appeared upon her face. My two youngest, Mason and Nick, immediately jumped into their aunt's arms as they cheered their greetings. Oliver moved to in front of me to help his mate-in-law with our boys.

I looked down past my waist when I felt a set of little hands grab onto my leg. I softly smiled down at my oldest and only girl, Natasha Emilie Lakes, as she clung to my leg as if to hide herself. Natasha was extremely quiet due to being an early shifter, whom had shifted at the age of four. She had been outside playing around in the edge of the woods with her cousin when a little boy about a year older came out and pushed her to the ground.

She was terrified at the older boy's behavior, but she had been too far away from her cousin for him to have noticed what was happening. She had looked terrified up at the older boy when he made to do something to her, she had suddenly shifted and jumped onto him. She never knew what he would have done to her, but her wolf had only manifested in an instance of terror and protected her from the perceived threat. Afterwards, she had come running to Oliver and I sobbing her eyes out. She had told us exactly what had happened and that her wolf had scratched him down the cheek and neck. I had picked her up into my arms and carried her out so that she could show us where it had happened. The boy wasn't where she'd left him, but there was blood where the boy had been. We waited for something to happen; we waited for someone to demand we do something for Natasha causing harm to their boy, but no one ever did.

Natasha was now nine years old, and she never let her emotions take control of her because she was too afraid that she would hurt someone if she did. But I have told her every day since then and will tell her every day into the future that I love her, so she never has to be afraid of being without love. She is my precious little girl, and I will do whatever I have to do to protect her.

"Natasha, my beautiful young niece, look how big you've grown! Did you grow another three inches from when I last saw you a week ago?! You're getting too big, but are you too big to give your only aunt a hug?" Audra asked playfully as she looked at my daughter. I watched as Natasha smiled and ran into her aunt's arms. Audra and Vane were told about what had happened, but Audra just acted as if nothing had happened. She showed Natasha as much love as she had before because she knew that her little niece needed to just be a kid still. I gave her even more love after, but I did that to make sure that she understood that it was okay to express your emotions still.

"Lilith!" A loud, booming voice thundered through the house. Within seconds, Vane came walking into the room with a deep scowl on his face. "You told my children to attack me just because I wasn't down here to say hello when you arrived?!" Vane asked slightly annoyed and angry.

I was about to answer back sarcastically as he stomped toward me when my daughter suddenly jumped onto her uncle's back and shoved him to the ground while she kept a hold on his arms behind his back tightly. Oliver just watched in surprise as I almost laughed at what our little girl had done. My darling little Natasha had done to her uncle what I had done to him when I'd first met Oliver and Vane.

"Natasha, it's okay sweetheart. Your uncle wouldn't have hurt me; he's not stupid or cruel enough to hurt a pregnant woman." I soothed as Natasha's gaze moved to me. She let her uncle go slowly before she ran to hide behind my legs again.

"Your daughter is far too much like you, Lilith. I never thought I would ever be back into that painful position again." Vane complained as he got up. I could see that he was about to say something more when he was interrupted.

"You're pregnant again?!" Audra asked excitedly. I smiled and nodded in response. She squealed as her children looked between us. "Oh, my children are gonna have another cousin!" She squealed out causing realization to appear upon her children's faces. They began to cheer alongside their mother. My boys just smiled proudly at the fact that I was going to have another baby, especially my mate. Oliver had been over the moon when he found out I was pregnant again. He had kept a smug smile across his face for the rest of the day after he found out.

We all moved into the living room to sit down and talk. Oliver had been entertaining most of the kids with Vane's help while Audra and I spoke about the baby. Natasha sat glued to my side listening to my conversation with her aunt when she tensed suddenly. I stopped telling Audra about what names I had been thinking about and turned my attention to her.

"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked softly as Natasha began to breathe more heavily. Everyone jumped when a huge crash rang through the house. I picked Natasha up in my arms so that I could follow to see what was going on since she refused to let me go. Oliver instructed Baker to watch over the younger kids as we went to find out what had happened. Baker just did as he was told and held onto his mother's hand.

Natasha and I walked out of the living room to the front door with Oliver and Vane following behind us. When we got to the front hallway, we stopped to see a little boy with black hair, green eyes, and a scar across his face. Natasha tensed even further in my arms as we stood there, and I understood wholeheartedly because the scar on the right side of the little boy's face was three long scars down his lower cheek to the middle of his neck.

He was glaring in our direction as his chest rose rapidly. Natasha moved down to her feet and stood in front of me. I would have thought it was adorable that she was posed as if to protect me if we weren't in this situation. This little boy looked mad beyond belief, and his anger seemed to be pointed at my little girl for his eyes had followed her the whole time.

"You can't hurt them! If you want to hurt someone, then you can hurt me. I'm the one that caused that scar on your face, so you can hurt me if you're going to hurt anyone. But I won't allow you to hurt any of my family!" Natasha yelled at the little boy. It had been the first thing she had said out loud in the longest time. She had always used the mind link to speak, but she was now yelling at this little boy.

"You won't allow me? You won't allow me?! You can't stop me from doing anything!" The little boy yelled back with anger laced through his voice. His fists tightened as he looked at Natasha.

"Go away!" Natasha yelled back at him. Her hands tightening into fists at her sides as well. I tried to grab her as she stomped closer to the rage-filled little boy, but I hadn't seen her move in time to catch her. I couldn't move after her when Oliver grabbed onto my waist to keep me away from the threat.

"I'll go away when I'm done doing what I came here to do!" The little boy screamed back at Natasha. I almost lunged at them to get my daughter out of the way when the little boy quickly went for her. I knew I wouldn't have made it in time, but I stopped in my tracks when the little boy reached Natasha. My eyes widened as I watched them. The little boy didn't hit, kick, or harm my little girl. No, he did something so very different to her. Something that Oliver, Vane, and I would never forget, and something that would always be imprinted in Natasha's head.

He kissed her. He held her face gently in between his youthful hands as he kissed her. Natasha was being kissed, on the lips, by a little boy that had attacked her five years ago, and she had scarred in an attempt to protect herself. I couldn't move an inch as I looked at them. Natasha's fists had disappeared the minute his hands had touched her skin, and now they were hesitantly holding onto his sides.

The little boy slowly moved away as his eyes opened even slower. Once his eyes were fully opened, they ran over Natasha's face. He still kept his hands against her cheeks as he watched her. The anger had faded completely from his eyes as he looked into Natasha's worriedly. He was nervous about what she would do now that he'd kissed her. I could tell that Natasha was still too surprised, so I quickly moved to get his attention off of her.

"Do you mind me asking what your name is and how old you are?" I asked quickly. The little boy's eyes shot to me upon hearing me speak to him.

"Roman Thomas Vincith. I'm ten years old since two days ago." He answered back hesitantly. He was a year and a day older than Natasha.

"Vincith?" Vane asked from behind us.

"My dad is Alpha Ulrik Vincith of the Scorpion pack. He expanded his territory a few years back, and we moved to be closer to the center. That's when I met Natasha. I hadn't meant to push her; I'd tripped and accidently did it in the process of getting back my balance." Roman answered still holding onto Natasha's face.

"Then why were you glaring at me when I looked up at you?!" Natasha asked angrily as she pushed his hands away. They both looked as if they wished we hadn't moved his hands, but they didn't move to fix that aside from the boy moving slightly closer to her.

His gaze never left hers. His expression became very regretful at her words. "I was mad; I was mad at myself for accidently pushing you, but I hadn't known that I was glaring outright. I was just mad at myself. I had seen you and had wanted to say hello, but then I hurt you. I was trying to help you back up when you jumped on me and scratched me." He answered looking extremely guilty as he spoke.

"Oh. Why didn't you come after me then? And why did you come here so mad?" Natasha interrogated. Her hands moved to hold her hips.

"I was too stunned at first when it happened, but then I just wanted to go home to find out why I was feeling so odd. My parents sat me down and explained it all to me." Roman explained looking at her under his eyelashes as if he were embarrassed. Natasha didn't let her hands fall from her hips though. She was still scowling at him. "I came here mad because I had had to climb out my window just to come and see you, but you weren't home. I was getting frustrated because I couldn't find you, but I finally caught onto your scent and that's when I kinda slammed the door open. Sorry, I was just frustrated that it had taken so long to find you." Roman answered sheepishly. He was quite adorable.

"You keep letting your emotions take so much control over your actions, so what's to stop you from hurting me?!" Natasha asked still scowling at him with her hands on her hips. He immediately pulled her face back to his and kissed her again. I watched as Natasha's hands tightened around her shirt.

"I would never hurt you; I would die if I ever did." He softly promised her as he set his forehead against hers. As I stood watching them, I felt Oliver wrap his arms around me lovingly. I turned my head to look at him with a curious look. I was surprised he hadn't done anything as this little boy kept kissing his 'precious princess' as he liked to call her at home.

"He's her mate; if I try to get in between them, he's gonna take a bite out of me for keeping him from mate. He'll act as ferocious as a feral animal if she is taken from her." Oliver explained in a whisper. He kissed my temple as he always did before sighing. "I would know. I destroyed what was left of our old pack house when you had been taken. It had taken your dad bringing the car around for us to go get you back that I finally snapped out of it enough to function. This little boy has enough rage inside him that it would be smarter just to leave them be. I don't like that my precious little princess is essentially making out with some little punk at the age of nine, but the look in his eyes and his behavior shows that he's already shifted, and Natasha is his mate." Oliver finished still in a whisper.

"Can I take her home with me?" A young male voice sounded from in front of us. Oliver was scowling when I looked back at Natasha and Roman. Roman was holding her hand.

"You can't keep her, Roman." I softly answered. I watched as his hand tightened around hers. He really didn't like the idea of being separated from her. "Roman, Natasha is nine years old. She's not old enough to live with someone other than her father and I, and she has a new younger sibling to help prepare for. She has been looking forward to everything that comes with my pregnancy since we told her." I explained to him. He's upset face turned to one of sadness. He didn't want to take her away from something that had already caused her happiness, but he also didn't want to let her go.

He looked so conflicted as he stood there holding Natasha's hand. I could understand that he wanted to be with his mate, but I also knew that I couldn't have my nine year old daughter getting taken to live with some other family for the rest of her life. It wasn't in my nature as a mother. "How about we make a deal, Roman?" I asked catching the conflicted little boy's attention. He looked up at me expectantly. "Natasha will stay home where she is needed until she is of age for the two of you to be together. If you are mates, and you truly want to be together, then you can be with her once she's eighteen years old, and we won't interfere with your relationship. That means that you can come and spend time with Natasha whenever you want, but you can't keep her forever until she's eighteen. Deal?" I offered as I looked at the little ten year old in front of me.

An amazingly large smile spread widely across his little face. He looked at Natasha, whom had been watching him the whole time I'd offered the deal. Her head automatically turned away as her cheeks started to redden deeply. It was quite adorable. He looked back up at me still smiling. "Deal!" He shouted in excitement before he tugged Natasha forward away from the front door and toward the living room. Natasha just stood still. "Come on, Nat. Let's go play in the backyard. We can get your cousins and siblings to play with us too!" He encouraged as he tugged her along still smiling.

"That's my alpha female." Oliver whispered in my ear as he smiled down at me. I just laughed in response.

"She may be your alpha female, but you're just her beta, brother." Vane said smiling as he brought Audra into his arms. Oliver rolled his eyes, but we all laughed nonetheless as we watched the kids playing from the window.
