Her Beta Chapter 4: Trouble Already Starting

Chapter 4:

I opened my mouth to answer when there was a knock on the door. Our attention immediately went to the door as it opened. A beautiful girl with oak brown hair and green eyes stood in the doorway. My head tilted to the side again. She smiled at me lightly before her eyes found Vane and her face lit up in happiness.

"Vane, there is a call for you in the office. It has something to do with having the Bane pack's third-in-command and his mate coming to visit." The girl said staring contently at Vane.

"Thank you Audra." Vane thanked as he walked up to her and kissed her head. Vane then turned toward me and Oliver. He faced Oliver as he stated, "This conversation isn't over." I just looked at Oliver confused.

"I'm just going to ignore my older brother. Do you have any siblings, little wolf?" Oliver asked after Vane left the room. I shook my head, indicating that as far as I knew I didn't have any sisters or brothers. Oliver smiled. "Be glad, they can be a real pain in the ass." He stated with a small side smile.

I looked around me. I began to walk from my position, always keeping an eye on where my mate was. I walked to the desk and looked at the papers, photos, and reminders that lay upon the desk. I noticed a notebook and pen and picked it up, I'd find some use for them. I move from the desk to the bed. I notice that the sheets are a navy blue color, that the other blankets are all solid colors, and that the pillows are a light green.

I climb onto the bed and crawl across, aware of my mate's gaze on me. I hop off once I'm across the bed and walk over to the dresser. I notice the minor things that the dresser contains, such as the deodorant, a few pictures, and a small bucket slightly filled with some school things. I take out the school ID and look at the picture of my mate on it. What surprises me is that he attends the same school as me and he's in the same grade.

I hear my mate trying to quietly approach me. I turn before he can get within a foot of me, and hold up the ID. He stops and looks at the ID I'm holding becoming confused. "This is my school ID for this year. I'm a senior this year. What about it little wolf?" He asks me remembering not to walk any closer, though I can see he wants to. I scowl at the nickname, I'm not little. "Hey don't scowl. I did ask you what your name was, you just never answered." He states with a small smirk.

I'm about to answer when another knock sounds on the door. Audra again opens the door. She looks to Oliver before speaking. "Your brother wants you to come help. Apparently things just got complicated and he wants you to help him compromise as beta." Audra said holding the door.

"Fine, I'll go help him." He sighed running his hand through his short hair. He looked at me for a second. "If you need anything, then just walk five doors down on the left of this one. I'll leave if need be, despite how much my older brother may want my help." He said smiling. I smiled a little at him, his face became a little brighter at my smile. He then turned to Audra and walked out of the door.

I looked at Audra waiting to see what it was that she wanted and why she was emitting a sense of worry that was evident in her scent. She turned to me and smiled, I smiled back and tilted my head to the side. She took a deep breath and closed the door before sitting on the bed. I climbed up on the bed to sit next to her.

"I'm so worried. I mean it's his birthday and I want to make it memorable, but I don't know how to lead into what I want to give him for is birthday." Audra rambled to herself looking at her lap the whole time. "I should probably explain. Maybe explaining this to someone would help me decide more efficiently. Yeah that makes sense." Audra stated to herself before turning completely to face me. I moved to face her as well, crossing my legs in front of me.

"Vane's birthday is coming up in about three weeks or so. He's turning twenty-three and I really want him to remember his birthday. He always says that his birthday isn't important, but as his mate I think that fact that he exists is an immense reason to celebrate. And well, last year he was stuck on conference thing during his birthday, the year before that he was with his buddies and they kept him out all night, the year before that he was at another conference, the year before that I was still too hesitant around him, and the year before that I didn't know him whatsoever.

"Anyway, I want to give him the one thing I haven't yet given him. And it's something that I can't give to him a second time and it's something I don't plan on not giving to him and giving to another person because first off, that's just gross and second off, I'd be devastated. What I'm talking about is giving my virginity to my mate, and I know. 'Why haven't you already given your virginity to your mate?' Well, I just wanted it to be on a special day and I've never found the best special day. And he's always so busy, so I've never wanted to bother him.

"So I'm trying to figure out how to go about giving my virginity to Vane. I mean, am I just supposed to walk into his office, pull him by the collar to kiss me, and then tell him that he needs to come to our room immediately? But then I'm afraid I'll mess it up or interrupt a really important meeting. So the second option is to wait in our room in just my underwear and then when he comes into our room I just inform him that it's time for me to lose my virginity to him. But that could go horribly wrong because I tend to fall asleep around a certain time if I don't have something to keep me awake. So I have no idea what I'm supposed to do." Audra rambled before falling back on the bed.

I grabbed the notebook and pen from where I lay them behind me. I quickly wrote down my response to her constant rambling. I tapped her when I was done. She sat up and read the writing on the notebook. "Stop freaking out. Vane seems to love you immensely if he's waited years on end just to be with you and he's stayed faithful to only you. If you want to give your virginity to him for his birthday, then stop over analyzing it. Just tell him that you have to talk to him because it's an urgent matter and then kiss him. You then tell him that you're ready to be completely his in every way possible because you love him." Audra finished reading out loud.

She looked at me stunned. I tilted my head in confusion. Why was she so stunned? Did she not think she could do all that? I thought it was quite simply. All you had to do was tell him that it was urgent to talk to him. When he comes to find out what it is, you tell him you love him and that you've always wanted the whole thing to be special and nothings more special than knowing you're giving every part of yourself to him. And finally, you tell him you're ready because you love him and you want to be his in every way you can. Was it really hard to follow through with?

"You actually understand what I've been saying to you?! You actually know what to say to me?!" She shrieked in a high pitched voice that hurt my ears immensely. I scrunched up my face in pain and nodded my head in confirmation to her statement. "I thought you just listened, but didn't know at all what someone said. Oh, what the heck am I talking about? Of course you understand what it is people are saying, you're not an idiot. Wait, can you talk?" She asked with wide eyes. I scowled at her description of me, she made me sound like a pooch. I nodded my head in confirmation to talking.

"I'll talk out loud for my mate first before anyone else in this pack. Sorry, just think its fair since he's been waiting since he found me to hear me talk to him." Audra read what I'd written into the notebook. She nodded her head. "Aw, that's so cute and sweet." She cooed looking at me with a smile.

Audra left about twenty minutes ago to figure out what look she wanted to use in their room for Vane's birthday. I've been looking through a lot of Oliver's stuff. But now I'm growing bored. I get up from the bed, where I've been sitting for a few minutes, and walk out of the room. I close the door after me and head down the hallway. As I approach the office Oliver told me about, I tune in to what's going on inside the room.

"Oliver, they want to have a guest room here on the top floor so that if they need to bring up an issue or discuss something, they can just go down the hall instead of trying to travel up to the top floor from where the main guest rooms are located." Vane's voice sounded. I could hear that he was pacing while Oliver stood still. The changing tones of his voice giving away his constant movement.

"Let them have the guest room on the top floor. But insist that the Third-in-Command bring his mate that way he won't be bugging us all night because he'll have to keep his mate entertained and will be more compelled to sleep because his mate is present." Oliver advised. I smiled at the fact that he was really good at negotiating a compromise that would suffice both packs.

"This is Alpha Vane Lakes. I'm just calling back so that you know that I've come to a decision. Your Third-in-Command may stay in the top floor guest room, but only if he agrees to bring his mate along." Vane said into a phone. I could hear the muffled reply of the person to whom Vane was speaking to though I could not make out the words. "Great, I look forward to meeting your Third-in-Command and his mate late tomorrow afternoon." Vane said before I heard the phone beep its ended call.

I walked past the office, down a flight of stairs, and into what looked like a living room. There were two girls already in the room. Both of them looked up at me when I walked through the door. The one farthest away from me had bright red hair and chocolate brown eyes while the one closest to me had bleach blonde hair and mud brown eyes. The one farthest looked at me in curiosity and excitement while the one closest looked at me with curiosity and clear disgust.

"Who the hell are you? Rogue trash waiting for the alpha so you can tell him a great sob story to let you into the pack? Sorry, but the pack doesn't allow people like you into the pack. So you should probably just leave." The bleach blonde, mud-colored-eyed girl said with disgust in her tone and on her face. I'd thought up the perfect name for her, the blonde bitch.

"Brittany! That's extremely unkind of you." The redhead scolded the blonde bitch. She shook her head as Brittany ignored her. She then focused her attention on me. "I'm Rebekah Lancaster. Just ignore the blonde." She replied with a smile.

I was about to respond to both of them when I heard three sets of feet coming down the stairs. I could smell that it was Vane, Audra, and Oliver. I took a seat on the arm of a couch that I was standing near. Within a minute or two, all three walked into sight. They entered the room seconds later. I smiled at all three of them, about to say something to Oliver when I was interrupted by a squeaky voice that hurt my ears.

"Baby, there you are. I've been wondering where you were at all day. I've missed you, so why don't we go have a little fun and catch up." Brittany screeched as she put her hand on Oliver's arm. I could feel my eyes flash my wolf's shade, but controlled my anger enough to make it stop. I noticed Vane looking a little wide-eyed and curious at me.

"How about no because I really haven't missed you." Oliver said pulling his arm out of her grasp and making a move that looked like he was trying to wipe her off of him. He had a look of disgust the whole time, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I took a deep breath before Brittany could continue making my ears bleed with her screeching voice, effectively getting everyone's attention. I stood up from the arm of the couch and walked out of the room, bumping my hand with Oliver's, before making my way out of the room and up the stairs toward the room I woke up in.

I mean, I love when people update twice with their stories, so I hope my readers will enjoy this as well!! I don't know why, but I really like the song on the top and I was listening to it for this chapter!!
