Dynasties And love [ Completed]

I’m honestly devastated that Joss is following those people—not because I was a die-hard Joss fan, but because it’s a glaring issue. To be fair, I didn’t even know who he was before his first BL drama, The Vampire One, aired. I had no reason to follow him or care about his career. I’m one of those fans who already has a lot on my plate, and I’m not the type to obsess over a BL pair before they even appear in a drama.

That said, hearing about this is disappointing. I was genuinely looking forward to his upcoming shows, but now? I won’t be watching them or supporting him. Why? Because I refuse to support someone who clearly doesn’t respect people like me—as a woman, as a person of color, and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. People keep saying, “Oh, it’s his personal life.” Sure, it’s his personal life, and he doesn’t owe me an explanation. But guess what? I also don’t owe him my money, time, or support.

Actors are just actors. Let’s not forget that. If your only reason to defend him is because you “just want to see two men kiss,” then fine, keep watching. But for the rest of us who care about representation, it matters. If he wanted to follow people with hateful ideologies, he should’ve stuck to straight dramas. He could’ve kissed women on-screen and off-screen all day if he didn’t believe in LGBTQ+ rights.

And for those saying, “It’s just a follow,” spare me. I’ve seen plenty of people on Twitter and Reddit trying to excuse this by saying they don’t even know who they follow. Okay, fine—but I follow people I admire and respect, not people who perpetuate hate.

I’m not usually the type to say, “I can’t enjoy this actor’s work anymore.” I’ve overlooked plenty of personal controversies in the past. But this? This is different. I can’t watch someone pretend to represent my community on-screen while supporting people who despise it off-screen. That’s where I draw the line.

For those of you who may not know, Joss—the actor who’s set to star in The Golden Blood and Only Friends: Dream On alongside Gawain—has sparked controversy recently. He’s been following several highly controversial figures, such as Andrew Tate, Pearl, Trump, and other right-wing politicians and activists. These are people who, whenever they speak, promote harmful ideologies.

For instance, they’ve said things like:

Women should have fewer rights and no autonomy.

A woman’s worth is solely tied to men and their future children.

Being a sexual offender is “better” than being gay.

Systemic racism against people of color never existed.

These individuals cater to a worldview centered around white, cisgender, heterosexual, Christian men—excluding everyone else. The fact that Joss is following them has understandably upset many fans, especially those in the BL fandom, where LGBTQ+ representation is deeply significant.

It’s not just about who he follows. Joss chose to be part of the BL industry, a space that thrives because of support from LGBTQ+ individuals, allies, and fans of diverse identities. For someone in his position—half-American, half-Thai, a man with privilege—to align himself (even passively) with figures who actively harm the very community he represents on-screen is, at best, irresponsible and, at worst, hypocritical.

Now, let me be clear: Joss has every right to follow whoever he wants. But the moment he decided to take roles in BL dramas, he accepted the responsibility of representing a marginalized community. With that comes accountability. Fans questioning his choices aren’t being “too sensitive”; they’re asking for the bare minimum: respect and integrity.

I’ve never been the type to criticize BL actors for having relationships or for not perfectly embodying the characters they play. That’s not the issue here. The issue is when someone represents a community they don’t genuinely care about—or worse, whose rights they indirectly undermine by supporting harmful ideologies.

Personally, I can’t defend him, and I can’t sit back and watch others dismiss this as “not a big deal.” If this situation resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you think fans are right to hold him accountable, or do you feel differently? Let me know in the comments.

Alright, that’s all for now. Let’s meet in the next chapter!
