She bit down on her lips, tears flowing quietly from her eyes.

In the mirror, she slathered on a layer of foundation, but it wouldn’t stick well over the pimples bumps. Her entire face looked uneven. She didn’t just have tiny whiteheads popping up all over her face, there was even a large one on her right cheek, swollen from inflammation.

She kept smearing the foundation on her face, but she could not cover it no matter what.

It wasn’t until she emptied the bottle that she finally stopped.

Back in the van, Tuantuan cleaned up briefly and laid down on the bed in her pink bearie autumn clothes.

Her round belly peeked out as she laid down, so she pulled her shirt down to cover it before laying down quietly on her small makeshift bed in the car.

Xiaoke prepared her baby formula for her and she held the bottle in her arms, rolling around in bed. After drinking two sips of her milk, she asked, “Auntie Xiaoke, do you think he’s really my papa? He looked for me once when you guys came back that day and asked for one strand of my hair…”

Xiaoke was silent for a moment. She patted her round little belly while coaxing her to sleep, but she frowned. “no wonder that man suddenly showed up. He must’ve done the DNA test a month ago after getting your hair sample. Hah, what a dog. Sis Qi has been keeping her body pure for her all these years but he’s actually questioning your identity!”

“What’s DNA? Auntie Xiaoke, don’t talk about him like that…He’s Tuantuan’s papa after all. If you wanna scold him, just…do it behind Tuantuan’s back!”

Xiaoke’s voice softened and she asked, “Then, you tell me, Tuantuan, do you like him?”

“I used to, but when Tuantuan remembers how he abandoned me and Mama for so many years while Mama was being scolded so badly by so many people, I don’t like him anymore. He definitely doesn’t love Mama, right? If he does love Mama, then he should’ve come many years ago to get Tuantuan, right?”

“Yeah, you’re right, Tuantuan. He’s just a scummy man!” Xiaoke was so angry that her eyes reddened. She said, “You’ve had such a hard life in the countryside, and the reason Sis Qi is this way right now is all because of his irresponsibility. Your Mama lost her memory. She doesn’t even remember him at all. Sigh.”

Tuantuan said quietly, “Actually, Tuantuan lied. Tuantuan likes him very much, but…but I’m scared Qiqi will get angry. I’m scared Qiqi will be unhappy if she finds out I like Papa. Qiqi never mentions who Papa is so she must hate him, right?”

“I don’t know. It seems like your mama does still like him quite a bit. If not, she wouldn’t have given birth to you with all that stress over her head.”

Xiaoke let out a laugh and tucked her in with the blanket. “Okay, okay. You’re right, everything you say is right. Now go to sleep, we’ll go get something nice to eat once your mama comes down tomorrow.”

“Tuantuan wants to eat roasted pork belly!”

“Sure.”

She stuck out three short chubby fingers, “Three big bowls.”

“Okay okay…” Xiaoke was completely speechless. Her chubby body had to come from somewhere after all. She could eat several months of Lin Yueqi’s intake of meat in one go.

The other male stars did not say anything, they just pretended that they didn’t hear anything. Qin Xue was crouched in the tent, looking at the mirror. She didn’t have the mood to pay attention to the moods of her fellow teammates at all.
