Chapter 38 – Back-off

Harmoni

We had been living together for two weeks now, and I couldn’t help but finally understand what people meant with ‘the honeymoon phase.’ We would always want to be near each other, holding one another whether it’s in front of a movie or in bed, stealing kisses while we cooked together. Or simply coming home together after he picked me up from school.

I didn’t even know this could happen outside of movies. Dad had called a few times to check on me, and I’ll admit that I missed him. I decided I would go spend the upcoming weekend with him.

“You ready?” I heard William ask from the living room.

Now that we were no longer at my house, we once again had to go to the public gym in the morning to train. Seeing as we were now officially together, let me tell you that I had had to escalate quite a few fights.

Luckily, I was quite adept at distracting him. If you know what I mean.

To be honest, we hadn’t taken the next step in our relationship yet, but I felt ready. Hell, I craved it. The only problem was that William had much more self-control than I had initially thought. I had been trying all week long to seduce him, but it hadn’t worked yet.

I smiled to myself as an idea came to mind. Let’s hope this time it would work.

“Princess, we are going to be late. Hurry up, will you?” he beckoned once more.

I stepped out of the bedroom, and we made our way to the gym.

We trained and sparred for more than an hour. I could feel the sweat drip down my forehead from the amount of effort I was putting in. William was also starting to break a sweat, which I was immensely proud of. I guess I wasn’t as easy of an opponent as I used to be.

As we breathed heavily after I nearly pinned Will during our last spar of the day, a clapping sound made itself heard.

Sitting up, I searched the room with my eyes, only to notice Jason standing just a few meters away.

“That was hot! I never knew you could fight like this,” he said, impressed.

“What are you doing here?” William immediately said, his voice low and threatening.

“Well, I’m here to take Harmoni to school. What else?” he answered as if this had been the most obvious thing in the world.

“That will not be necessary. Thank you very much,” I heard Will answer through gritted teeth. This was not going to end well. I stood up from my spot on the ground and went by his side, placing a calming hand on his arm.

“Let the girl decide, no? Will you?” this Jason guy said, turning his attention back to me.

“I’m good, thanks. I’ll drive with Will,” I answered, feeling a bit confused by the two Alpha males in front of me.

I didn’t know what the deal was between the two, but I made a note to ask Will later. Between interrupting our date and now this, I didn’t know what to think of this new bodyguard of mine.

Walking into the office today, I was still frustrated by Jason’s earlier actions.

Yet, I was greeted with rather strange news that took my mind off of it very fast.

"Huntz! I have some information," Jonathan said as he fell into step with me.

"Shoot,” I smiled, ready to catch the ones that had been tormenting our city for months.

"Well, according to my CI, there's a new player in town. From what he told me, I think it could be Caprica. He mentioned that a new crew had just arrived in town and had been behind the two last big busts from the drugs department.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, halting in my steps, confused as to how Caprica was involved with the arrests.

“Well, my CI said that the new crew has been picking off members from a crew one by one and then placing them in places they are easily arrested. I didn’t quite believe him at first so I went and checked with my friend from the gangs and drugs department and they confirmed that they had busted a house with Simon Gonzales just tied up in a chair in the middle of the living room, surrounded by his gang members and kilos of drugs,” he explained.

“Simon Gonzales? You mean the drug king we have been trying to catch for the past five years?” I asked, still stunned by what I had just heard.

As I walked through the corridors of HQ, trying to get back to Mia after my lunch break, I spotted Jason walking towards me.

He hadn’t seen me yet as his head was bent down, focused on his phone.

My blood boiled at the sight of him. I didn’t hesitate to roughly grab his arm and pull him into the locker rooms.

Jason was still confused by the sudden changes, so he had been easy to subdue.

However, it didn’t last long. His eyes darkened as he recognized me. Yet, I had the upper hand and he knew it. I didn’t want to waste any time, but I had a warning to give him.

“Look, I know that it might be hard for your pickle brain to grasp the concept, so let me explain it to you one more time. When someone is taken, you back the fuck off,” I threatened lowly.

“Or what?” he dared, challenging me with both his words and eyes.

“You don’t want to find out, Probie,” I replied.

“Fine,” he agreed, but the mischief in his eyes told a different story. “She’ll get tired of your old ass soon enough and I’ll make sure I’m there for her when that happens.” His twisted smile never left his face as his words came out like a punch in my face.

I didn’t let him see any of my emotions, but little did he know he had managed to make me doubt. Harmoni and I had never spoken of our age difference, but I doubt she cares for it much. Right?

“Fat chance,” is all I said before leaving the room and joining Mia.

Later that evening when I came home from work, Harmoni was already home. She had finished school earlier and had asked Benjamin to take her here.

I heard rustling in the kitchen and headed towards it, hoping she didn’t burn down my brand-new kitchen. As my eyes landed on her, my throat tightened. She had been a tease all week and today was apparently no exception.

She stood there, moving about in one of my shirts. If that wasn’t a sight for sore eyes, then I wouldn’t know what was.

I watched her for a few minutes until she finally noticed me, and I moved towards her.

“You’re killing me,” I whispered, as I trapped her between my arms and the counter. Her eyes twinkled with mischief at the incessant teasing she had put me through the past few days, yet the most prominent emotions I could decipher were love and lust.

My hand fisted around the counter. She was impossible to resist.

“I don’t know what you mean,” she answered, eyeing me innocently with her wide jade-green eyes.

“Oh really?” I stepped closer, bringing our bodies together as her back hit the countertop gently. From this position, I could feel every part of her body, from her perky breasts to her slender legs. I watched as her cheeks coated themselves with a light blush, undoubtedly from sensing my erection pressed against her.

She bit her lip, looking at me through her long lashes. She would be the death of me.

I couldn’t help but think it was too soon, and that I was rushing her into something she wasn’t ready for. Yet, she decided for me as she grabbed onto my cheeks and pulled my head down to meet her awaiting lips.

The kiss started slow and uncertain but quickly picked up speed. She triggered a want, a need I hadn’t felt before. I had never wanted someone as much as I wanted her. She was everything to me, and I determined to show her.

Sliding my hands down her thighs, I lifted her onto the counter, placing myself between her legs as she moved closer creating friction for the both of us, while never breaking our kiss. She was an addiction, I couldn’t get enough of how she tasted, and couldn’t wait to taste every part of her. With that thought in mind, I let my lips travel down her neck as she bent her head sideways, giving me better access. Finding her sweet spot near her collarbone, she closed her eyes, letting out a rewarding moan.

I continued my trail down, but felt her hand on my chest, pushing me slightly away. Straightening up, I gazed into her hooded eyes, knowing full well, the lust in mine were prominent as well. Harmoni gave me a shy smile, before reaching for the hem of her shirt and slowly pulling it above her head.

“You’re beautiful,” was all I managed to say, as I caressed her cheek. This woman, that sat in front of me in only her laced black underwear, was by far the most alluring woman I had ever laid eyes on.

My eyes never left hers, as I trailed my hand along her waist to the side of her breast, before gently cupping one. Her head fell back in ecstasy at my touch. I felt myself twitch in my pants, as they felt tighter by the minute. Palming her breast, I found her tip and gently squeezed it between my fingers.

“Will,” she moaned, opening her eyes to look at me again. I repeated the motion, each time rewarded by her lustful moan.

I was about to give her other breast the same treatment when a loud knock was heard.

“Honey?” James voiced from behind the front door.

My eyes went wide, as my heart sped up, yet for a completely different reason. Looking at Harmoni, I noticed her mirroring my expression.

“Go! Go!” she whispered, pushing me towards the door, while she scrambled off the counter, looking for her shirt.

“I can’t,” I hissed, pointing to the visible hard-on I was sporting. Eyeing it momentarily, she finally pointed to the bedroom.

“I’ll distract him,” she whispered as another knock could be heard. She quickly combed through her hair with her hands as I rushed to the bedrooms, just in time to hear the front door open.

“Dad! What are you doing here?” she asked, happily.

I swiftly made my way to the bathroom, wondering how I was going to get rid of my hard-on as fast as possible.
