Wrong Impression, miss (GxG) (TeacherXstudent)
Victoria's Pov
For the last few days I tried my best to ignore Professor Garcia, for something that was my fault.
It makes me a coward.
Every lesson I had with her, I would simply not speak. I wouldn't give the answers to questions, and she wouldn't ask me to give them.
Professor clearly also has a thousand thoughts running through her head.
She'd chew on her bottom lip as she stared me down, or make eye contact with me before looking away with a deep breath in.
I'd do it too, but way more obvious. I would blush every time she looked at me, and I didn't pay attention anymore.
I've been trying to forget about it, but it's been replaying in my head non-stop.
Truth been told, I really don't know why I kissed her.
But, I did enjoy it.
And, I'm FREAKING the FUCK out.
Suddenly, there was a hand in front of my face before knocking my Law books out of my hands.
I flinch back in reality as it made a loud bang against the floor beneath me.
Turning my head around, I see Cheryl looking back at me with a sly grin on her face as she walks away.
It's been quite a while since she got on my nerves and did something.
Carol on the other hand had this sympathetic look as she disappeared round the corner with Cheryl and Bethany.
I sighed, closing my eyes.
I really don't want this today.
While I kneeled down to grab my books, professor Garcia suddenly appeared and kneeled down too.
We both stretch out for my books, and as her hand graze mine, I tilt my head up to her.
Her green eyes were staring deep into mine. I could already feel my cheeks burning up.
Grabbing composure, I tried to act calm and continue picking up my books.
I got the most of them as professor Garcia picked up one.
We both stood up, and she was about to pass me my book before stopping.
"So, you're just going to let those girls do that to you?"
I take a deep breath in, not in the mood to talk, especially to her.
"Tough love." I shrug, grabbing my book out of her hands.
Keeping my head low, I walk around her, but she followed next to me.
"You've been leaving me alone with your friend lately. I thought we were supposed to tutor her together."
"I'm writing law tomorrow, and have choir practice after school. I don't have time to be there."
Suddenly, I got Déjà vu of being pushed inside the small janitor's room.
My eyes widen as she nudged me inside and closed the door behind her.
"You sure that's the only reason why you've been ignoring me?" She said sternly, "Not the fact that you kissed me?"
I was taken aback, not knowing what to say, nor the correct words forming.
"Daniela, I-I--"
"It can't happen again." She said.
I let go of shaky breath, staring at her in disbelief.
"I'm your professor, Victoria."
Was Iris wrong?
My lips part and I shake my head.
"I'm well aware of that, 'professor.'" I said dramatically,
"I don't fucking know why I did what I did, and it's not like I have a fucking crush on you. That's... that's wrong, and weird. But, hell, I don't know why I kissed you! I'm not... into woman, nor into breaking the goddam rules of this stupid university... I- I was emotional and wasn't thinking straight."
"Right, I understand that." She raises her voice a tiny bit, placing her hands on her hips. "But, it can't happen again, you understand? This isn't allowed. I can lose my job; you can lose your reputation as a hard-working student."
I keep quiet, looking down and letting go of a shaky breath.
"I should report you in." I heard her mutter to herself, grabbing my attention as I shot my head up with wide eyes.
"But, I still want to help you." She said louder, "I want to be your teacher, okay? I just..." she hesitates, "I really don't know what to say any further."
I clench my jaw. "Then please don't say anything else, or I might cry again."
I tried to sound funny, but I really was about to cry.
"Victoria." She whispers my name.
My mask slips for a split second before I take a deep breath in and force myself around her to the door.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled, before opening the door and leaving.
I've been staring down at my phone for the last few minutes, hiding in the bathroom stall and sitting on the toilet.
Deep in thought, I chew at my bottom lip, debating whether or not to tell Iris about what happened between Professor Garcia and I.
Though, it's the end of our classes and I know she's busy with Daniela. I hope she's just paying attention and not giving professor a hard time. She really needs to concentrate. It'll be the only way she can go to Greece with me, well, with us.
"Call me when you're done." I texted her.
Standing up from the seat, I grab my bag and put my phone away.
As I exit the stall, I bump into someone, a blonde girl that looks very familiar.
I definitely saw her somewhere before.
"Oh, Victoria." The girl said with a tiny smile.
I frown, tilting my head to the side. "You know my name?"
She shook her head like she snapped out of a day dream and chuckled. "I-uh, yeah, yeah. We have Law together. I don't talk a lot and sit at the back, so It's no surprise that you don't know me."
I hum while thinking, "Oh, no, I know you. Eleanor, right?"
Her eyebrows raised, surprised. "That's me." She chuckled.
I smile. "See?" I said, "Expect the unexpected."
She lets go of another chuckle, looking down to her feet.
"Anyways, I really need to go." I said, inches away from the exit.
She called my name, and I turn around back towards her again.
"Do you maybe want to go to this new bar, pub, thing? It's a few blocks away from university, and apparently that's where everyone hangs out." She said.
"I would love to." I smile, "But, I can't. I need to study."
She nods. "Well, if you change your mind... I'll be there at 6."
"Thanks." I send a quick smile before leaving.
After that encounter, I had an hour long choir practice in the hall. The end of the semester is coming closer, and we need to get this performance perfect. I still make here and there a few mistakes, like singing a note higher that it should be.
Anthony also has been enjoying his time at the choir, and dang he's good.
Adding beatbox to choir was one of the best ideas ever made, and it really adds some flavor to the song.
Then I had my shift at the café where I met up with Iris. She told me that she actually paid attention to Daniela today and that she got most questions right.
She's one step away from a flight to Greece.
Now, we were busy locking up the doors as all the employees headed home.
I wait besides Iris as she gets out the key to the café. "So, you know that thing where two peoples' lips touch?" I hesitate.
She lets go of a chuckle, finding the keys and locking the door. "Oh, fun. Are we playing charades right now? I'm sure the word you want is 'kiss.'"
"Excellent, you win" I said, "So, uh, y-yeah...that happened with me... and... professor Garcia..."
She froze and dropped her keys while trying to put them back away.
The keys on the ground, waiting to be picked up once Iris snaps back into reality, she's just staring into nothingness with her jaw dropped and eyebrows raised.
I don't bother to say anything, but just to let her process it first.
Clearing her throat, she bends down slowly and grabs the keys.
I let go of a shaky breath, waiting for her to say something.
"Okay..." She breathed out, tilting her head deep in though. She nods again, "Okay." She said louder, burying the keys in her pockets.
She starts walking, and I just follow along with her. Her eyes are glued to the path we're walking on.
"Okay." She mutters again with a tiny head nod.
"Please stop just saying 'okay,' you're freaking me out."
She snaps her head to me, "Pookie, if I don't say it, I'll probably freak out too! Like, what else do I say?"
"Congratulations!?"
"Absolutely not." I said, stepping in front of her, "Help! here's something wrong with me."
"Help you?" She asked, "Give me some context first!"
With that, I told her everything she needed to know. How, where, when, and why, which I still don't know.
We eventually walked to my house, still going through it all. Iris was still stunned, but she calmed down a little. This 'thing' -or whatever you call it- between professor and I is nothing new to Iris.
She's even really intrigued in this discovering myself situation.
We stand in front of my home's closed door.
"You know, the first time I said this, it was as a joke. But now.... Vic, be careful. She can lose her job." Iris said, her voice more serious than usual.
My jaw clenches and unclenches. "It's not like we'll do anything that puts her job on the line."
"Just--"
Suddenly, we both turn to the garage making a scratching noise against the pavement as it opens up.
Out comes the black Cadillac Escalade with Adeline up front, looking in the rearview mirror as she reverses.
My heart sank at the thought of Adeline finding out of Daniela, who happens to be my professor, and who happens to be her ex-girlfriend.
She didn't see us, thankfully, and drove off, the garage closing.
"Reason 10,000 why you can't do such things with Professor Garcia." Iris muttered.
I really need a drink.
