Wrong Impression, miss (GxG) (TeacherXstudent)
Days kept repeating itself, but a kind of pattern that I can't get tired of.
Almost each morning I stir awake from the sunlight beaming through the curtains. It always casts a warm streak across the room. And each time when I turn around, Daniela lay besides me. Her hair spilled across the pillow, facing me. I always find her hands somewhere on my body-- if that's my arm, waist, stomach, chest or anything else.
Her sharp features always gets highlighted from the golden glow the sun gives off, and it makes her look even more beautiful.
When I was the one still asleep and her wide awake before me, she'd wake me up by peppering soft kisses all across my skin. Each and every corner of my face, down to my shoulders.
Sometimes breakfast would already be waiting for me downstairs.
Now, it was around 4 in the morning when I woke up.
Instead of the sunlight beaming through, it was the moonlight. No matter how hard I tried, sleep wouldn't come back. My mind was restless, tangled in thoughts I couldn't quite untangle.
Daniela was still asleep beneath me.
I slipped out of bed as quietly as I could, careful not to disturb her. She stirred slightly, her hand falling from where it has been resting on my waist, but she didn't wake. I paused for a moment, watching her before grabbing a sweater and heading for the balcony.
The air outside was cold, biting at my skin even through the layers.
I leaned against the railing, my arms crossed, letting the air fill my lungs.
The soft rustling behind me was the only warning I had before arms slipped around my waist, pulling me back against a warm chest.
"Couldn't sleep?" Daniela's voice was low, husky with sleep, as it brushed against my ear.
I smiled softly feeling her warmth of her body spreading over to mine. Letting go of a breath of relief, I lean my head back against her.
"Yeah," I murmured, "Just... restless I guess."
She didn't say anything at first, just tightened her arms around me, pressing her lips to my shoulder with a soft, sleepy kiss.
"You're going to catch a cold out here." She whispers against my skin.
I shivered slightly at the feeling of her breath against my skin. "I'll be fine," I murmured back.
She chuckled softly, the sound vibrating against my back. "You're stubborn," she said, the words laced with affection.
"I'm not stubborn," I protested weakly, though a smile tugged at my lips. "I just like the fresh air."
She lets go of me and walked away without anything left to say.
But after a few seconds, she returned with one of her sweaters, larger than mine. She forced it onto me, but I didn't fight against it. I turned to her and lifted my arms as she slid it down my body.
After it was on, our eyes met.
For a moment, everything seemed to pause, the world fading into the background as I met her gaze. There was something in the way she looked at me.
"Better?"Â she asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
I couldn't get full words out. "Mhm."
My hands found her cheeks, cupping it.
I could feel my heart racing in my chest as she mimicked my eye contact, holding it without blinking even once.
Her gaze flickered down to my lips, and without thinking, I leaned in, closing the distance between us. Our lips met, softly at first, as if we were both testing the waters, but it only took a fraction of a second before the kiss deepened, more urgent, more hungry.
It was like nothing mattered anymore.
She pulled me flush against her, leaning into me as our lips danced.
When we finally broke away, our foreheads rest together, we stayed there for a moment, breathing in the same air.
I could tell something was bothering her, as her eyebrows furrow down slightly.
"What's wrong?" I ask softly, still holding her cheeks.
Her lips slightly part as if she wanted to tell me, but she didn't know how to put it to words.
"I--" She started, but paused. Her hands slid down to my waist, tightening slightly. "I'm switching universities."
I blinked, pulling back slightly to look at her clearer. "Woah, what?"
"They want me to go teach at Columbia. Columbia University." She said, staring into my eyes. "This is perfect, Victoria. If I go there, you and I..."
"We can be us?" I interrupted.
Her gaze softened at my interruption, and she took a slow, deep breath, clearly trying to find the right words. "Exactly," she whispered, her hands still resting on my waist. "We could be us, without hiding. No more secrets. No more pretending."
"B-But... I won't get to see you everyday then." I frown.
She looked at me, her eyes softening even more if that's possible. Her hands left my waist to also take hold of my cheeks as we look into each other's eyes.
She flashed a soft smile. "Are you kidding?" She whispered. "I'm going to have you over every single second we're not busy."
I gulped. "Promise?"
"I promise you, Victoria." She reassured. "If I have to steal you from your dad, I will. There's no way I'm missing my nightly cuddles."
My heart fluttered at her words, and for a moment, everything else faded away.
She was serious. And the idea of being with her, being together, without anything holding us back, was like a dream that was finally starting to take shape.
My frown returned. "But relationship aside, what about classes?" I blinked again. "I-I mean, you won't be there to teach me. To teach every one of us."
An amused smile forms on her lips. "You're making it sound like I'm leaving."
"B-but you are!" I panicked.
Both our hands were still holding each other's faces, but her thumb drew light patterns across my skin while my hands froze against her. "University." She said. "I'm leaving university. I'm not leaving the planet. I'm not leaving us. I can give you extra classes outside... like a tutor."
"B-But isn't this like a big change for you?" I said. "Like, switching universities? That's... That's... a lot."
She chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling with something between amusement and affection. "It is a big change," she admitted, her thumb continuing its soothing motions against my skin. "But change is just part of life, right? We both knew this was coming. It's just... now it's happening."
I couldn't help but feel a knot tighten in my chest. "But what about your students here? What about everything you've built here? This place... your place." I said, gesturing vaguely around us, trying to make sense of it all.
She paused for a moment, her gaze softening. "This place has been important to me," she said slowly. "But I've learned that the people we care about--you--are what really matter. And you matter more than any university or job ever will."
My heart fluttered at her words, but it didn't stop the swirl of uncertainty in my mind. "But it's Columbia. It's... big. It's far," I murmured, my voice low, almost worried.
"Still, same city." She said. "And it's only 30 minutes away from NYU. I can get there in 10 if you call me and tell me there's an emergency."
I let go of her, and stepped back, and she also dropped her hands. My eyes dart around, trying to process this. "I- I... this is a lot." I whisper, almost to myself.
Daniela nodded in agreement, letting go of a breath. "Hey, but whatever it takes to be with you, okay?"
She reached out and took my hand in hers, forcing me to look at her. "Okay?" She repeated.
"I-..." I hesitate before sighing. "Okay."
Satisfied, she nodded. "We'll be okay."
I nodded too. "I know."
"Just as long as you don't get too comfortable with your new professor, okay?" She teased, a smirk forming on her lips to lighten the mood.
I couldn't help but chuckle, the tension in the air easing just a little. "I don't know... they might be charming."
Daniela's eyes narrowed playfully, and she leaned in a little closer. "Oh, really?" she teased, her voice dipping low. "I have much more than charm."
My smile widens and I laughed before wrapping my arms around her neck and bringing her in for a kiss.
"I love you, Daniela."
"te amo mi amor"
---------THE END---------
Ladies and gentleman after 7 months, that concludes
Wrong Impression, miss.
This was an entirely different piece I wrote, for my other stories are mostly fan fictions.
So I hope you enjoyed my first ever studentXteacher story!
(Let me know if I should make a second account for stories like these and keep the fan fictions here.)
