chapter 16

                 Mayur's POVI am very happy as our marriage got fixed. Yesterday was the best day of my life. January 11,exactly one  and half months remaining for our marriage. I wake up early everyday as I do exercises in the morning first. After exercise, I took a bath and have breakfast. I was getting ready and then remembered Vanya and I messaged her Good morning. She was offline seems she is busy with her work. I got ready and went to office, I had meeting first, I attended it and then went to my cabin. I switched on the internet and there was two message from Vanya. She replied Good morning. And there was one another message. Vanya : "Our parents are going for shopping today evening. They are going to Kalyan silks to select dresses." Mayur : "Ok, you tell me when you are free then we will go shopping for ourselves". Vanya :" Let's go today only. Let's surprise them there. What say? "Mayur : "Ok, then. After they leave for shopping, call me and then get ready. I will pick you up. "Vanya : "Ok, done".Now, it's 12 pm and I prepare some work and have lunch. After that I have to interview some candidates. It may take 2 hours mostly. And then I have meetings. At 5:00 pm, I receive a message from Vanya that her  parents have left. I tell her I will be coming in half an hour. I finish my work and leave for her home. I reach her home and call her outside but instead she called me inside the house. I go inside and sit on the couch. She brings tea for both of us. Mayur : "Let's go quickly or they will come here finishing shopping." Vanya : "They will not come this early. Vanu will take her own time shopping."( I have the tea  prepared by her.) Mayur : "Thank you for the tea. It was awesome our small tea date." Vanya : "Thank you, date ahh.. you start the car. I will lock the door and come."We reach the mall. We search for them. There they are selecting sarees, dad and uncle selecting lungi for themselves and the other 2 are roaming with dresses standing in front of mirror. We go near them and they were shocked to see us. Soon we all select dresses, jewelleries and we all go to select engagement rings. There I select a silver plated ring for myself and she selects a gold ring with diamond stone in middle of it. We all finish shopping and go to our respective homes. The other days went we talking and chatting.Our families making preparation for our engagement. Today is Saturday, the day I will get my award of 'Best Businessman Award'. I wore this : for the award function. I reach the stage when my name is called and receive a trophy from the best businessman himelf  'Shiv Naik.'He has a son Dr. Manoj, who is a neurosurgeon (brain doctor) practicing in Mumbai. He is a good friend of mine. My parents clap and cheer for me. I feel happy seeing them feeling proud of me. Only family was allowed otherwise I would have called Vanya and her family....     ... Engagement Day...     Third person POV. The hall was filled with relatives, friends . All were waiting for the engagement party to start. Suddenly, drums sound is  heard and here comes Mayur in between. And behind him is his family. Varshitha and Vanitha is on stage. Vanitha : "Here comes, my bava Mayur the most eligible, handsome, cute soon  groom to be". Mayur reaches the stage and again drum sound is heard and some girls come dancing ahead and in between Vanya comes dancing to the drum  beats. Varshitha :" Please welcome the most beautiful, cute, stylish, and a stunning  South Indian diva, bride to be, my akka Vanya." Behind her,her family comes. Harish and Swetha welcome them. She reaches the stage and stands near Mayur. They surely look like they are made for each other. They both sit on the sofa in the stage. Stage is beautifully decorated. On the left side Mayur is seated and his parents are standing near him and right side Vanya is seated and her parents are standing. Mayur : "You are looking beautiful, sweetheart". 😉(Listening this Vanya blushed.) Vanya :"Thank you☺. You are looking ok - ok". Mayur frowns listening this. Mayur : "I took extra time to get  ready today and I thought you will be impressed."Vanya :" It's impossible to impress me, brainless idiot. 😁😁. You are looking handsome, now happy." Mayur : "Only handsome not cute". Vanya :" Awww! No you look like an idiot"😁. Mayur :" Hmm,🥺 I will remember it. "In the muhurat time, Vanya first put ring on Mayur's right hand ring finger. (Mayur's ring) After that Mayur puts ring on Vanya's left hand ring finger. Ring finger's nerve is directly connected to heart, that's why we wear ring on ring finger. (Vanya's ring) Guest come and congratulate couple one by one and gives them blessing. Mayur :" This is Shiv uncle , best business man and his son is a neurosurgeon in Mumbai." Vanya greets him with a smile and takes his blessing. Vanya :" She is my one and only childhood best friend Reena. She is the one who suggested to me to meet you and talk." Mayur :" Nice to meet you, Reena. This is Ashish, my best friend."They both introduce to each other their guests. After all guests are done, photographer takes their various poses for the shoot. Mayur's one hand is on her waist and  Vanya's one hand on his chest and their  other hands showing ring to camera. They do different poses for the camera. Vanya : "Leave me, all poses are over. Everyone is looking at us."Mayur : "I don't care. I am holding my fiancee, let them close their eyes." Vanya : "Will you not leave me?" ( Tickles him in stomach and he leaves her waist and she runs from there. ) Dinner is arranged for the guests and then dance performance starts. Vanitha and Varshitha both together dance in  the song 'Aaj hai saagai' from the movie 'Pyaar hona hi tha'. All cheer for them and enjoy the dance performance. Vanitha : "Now it's time for the most awaited dance performance.. Please welcome Mayur and Vanya on the stage." .......................................................
