chapter 8

                 VANYA POVEvening 4:30 pmI was sleeping peacefully but my sleep got disturbed hearing a ringtone. Acha got a call so he picked it up. Mayur was also present.I smiled at them then I quickly got up from the sofa and went to the washroom. When I came I heard my dad asking Mayur whether he likes me? And he nodded, which means he likes me. He also told my dad to not force me for this marriage. Mayur is a gentleman and I trust him but I still don't want to marry. I was angry with my dad for asking this but I didn't speak anything as I will deny him for marriage then he will take unnecessary stress. So I kept quiet and gave him medicine and went outside. After some time, I entered and my leg slipped but Mayur held my waist in time. I felt safe and comfortable when he touched me.  Acha coughed seeing us and we both went away without looking each other. He came back after sometime and told me that his dad (Harish uncle) has told me to attend a meeting in college now. But I was hesitant to go leaving acha alone in hospital. But Dr. Raj convinced me that he will take care of dad. So I went with Mayur. I wanted to go by my car but he told me  that he was also going to the same meeting so I agreed. I came to know that he sponsores the college. I purposely opened the back door of the car. I choose to ignore him so that he cancels this wedding. He told me that he is not the driver and to sit in front. I glared at him and angrily opened the door and sat  in the car. He tried talking to me but I ignored him and looked outside.I will ignore him the most then he will cancel the marriage 🥳. How is my plan? Mayur played a song 'Ishq bulaava' and it's my favorite song and I forgot everything and started humming the lyrics. The song ended and I felt he is looking at me so I quickly looked outside. We reached and I quickly went inside without looking him. I entered the staff room and all were present there. My colleague Riya asked me about my dad's health and I told her that he is fine. Soon Harish Sir (Uncle) with Mayur arrived and we started the meeting. Harish : "I am sorry for calling you all this late. Let's start the meeting without any delay. As children's day is nearing, why not we plan some exciting thing for children? Suggest  some ideas if you have? I know, you all will think that they are not children, they are college going students. But for us, they are still children even you all are my children. And I decided something. Why not invite NGO's children to our college on children's day". Vanya and Mayur : "It's a good idea. "(They speak together at the same time. Everyone agrees for Harish's idea) Harish : "Ok, I will call Swetha, my wife, if this is okay for her? (Went outside and called Mam). (Came inside) She agreed and is ok with the party but she has a condition." Vanya : "What's the condition, Sir?"Harish : "Children should enjoy and should be taken good care as they are school going children. So I have decided to give this responsibility to Vanya" . Vanya : "Ok Sir." Mayur : "I am okay with the party and the sponsoring will be done by me. And if any help needed by anyone, you can message me. Here is my number card". Harish : "Ok then, if all agree then let's keep the party. You all can start the preparations fron tomorrow. And make the budget  and the list of the things which are required food, seating arrangements for children, games etc." Vanya : "Ok Sir."Soon meeting ended and Harish uncle and Mayur left. I also left as I have to go to hospital. I reached near the gate and saw Mayur waiting for me in the car. I sat in the car and I decided to talk to him because he has done so much help to us. I am feeling guilty for ignoring him first. He brings breakfast, even stays at night in the hospital. Vanya : "NGO Children will enjoy the party, uncle's idea was very nice na?"He didn't reply anything means he is angry. I took a deep breath and spoke again.Vanya : "Mayur, I am really sorry for not talking to you at that time. I was angry with my dad. I am really feeling guilty, you have helped me a lot. I am really, SORRY."(I said while holding my ears) . Mayur : "It's ok. No problem." Vanya : "I am sorry na, I know you have not forgiven me". ( He smiles and that's what I wanted. His smile made me happy and I smiled) Mayur :" Ok, I forgot everything then only. I did a drama to see your reaction. You are really cute". Vanya :" I know that  I am cute. You are also a drama king. But remember I am the drama queen here".And we both laughed and talked about random things. He gave me his number to call me if anything is required. We reached hospital and he went to park the car. I waited for him near the entrance. He came and we both went inside together. Acha  was having dinner at that time and for us my amma has bought tiffins. Acha took his medicines and slept. We were having dinner when Dr. Raj came and told us that Acha is perfectly fine and will be discharged tomorrow. I jumped like a  kid hearing Dr. Raj. I didn't shout as my dad will wake up. Dr. Raj went and we continued having dinner. I had requested Dr. Raj for another couch yesterday as we both were not comfortable  yesterday. So Mayur slept on the sofa and I slept on the couch. ,............................................................ (They are talking with each other. Will they become friends?)
