Chapter 9

Exes and... Oh

My Bully, My Mate (Book 1) {Complete}

I woke up next to a still-sleeping Jake and a painful stomach ache. I winced and sat up turning to the side slowly to reduce the pain that kept throbbing everywhere. When I stood up pain shot through me and I tried to ignore it as much as I could.

I noticed I'd been wearing the same clothes for a little bit and decided to change. I looked over at Jake who was still sound asleep on his bed. I decided to go into Jake's closet to get my bag of clothes. I unzipped the bag and grabbed a flannel and some jeans.

I heard shuffling from the bed so he might wake up soon. I walked out and went downstairs walking a certain way so it wouldn't hurt as bad. I go towards the kitchen to find something to eat.

I go into the pantry and I never really expected to find so many snacks but I guess it makes sense. Again, he's totally rich.

When I got done I sat on his couch and turned on the T.V. to waste time. We had at least 15 minutes until we had to go so I waited for Jake.

-

Jake had come downstairs with a long-sleeved shirt and jeans. His hair wasn't done so it looked fluffier than what it usually looked.

"Morning, Nate"

"Good morning"

"School again?"

"Mhm."

He sighed but walked towards the door

"Then let's go, I don't feel like running and we have 9 minutes to get there"

"Alright then"

I turned off the T.V. and stood up. I didn't feel pain this time so I jogged over to Jake. He opened the front door and let me out first.

"Ladies first."

He smirked and I walked through the door

"I knew you were like fi-!"

I forgot there were stairs and before I could react I was falling backwards. I knew I was falling so I just let it happen. I closed my eyes waiting for the hard impact on the pavement but it didn't happen. Instead I felt a pair of muscled arms. I opened my eyes to a worried looking Jake and embarrassment.

"You okay Nathan?"

"Um y-yeah I'm fine..."

He slowly stood me up on the last stair and then the air filled with silence. I know I said I would chill out on resisting life but come on.

The silence wasn't awkward but it wasn't comfortable either. Jake stepped down and started walking on the grass.

"Come on! Aren't you the one who wanted to go?"

"Oh shut up."

I walked over and we headed towards the school

-

I walked into the school before Jake and I knew something like this would happen. A lot of guys were staring at me and glaring at each other. I hate that most of the male population in this school are werewolves.

I ignored all the looks and stares but one of these guys were approaching me. I instantly wanted to disappear. Mason Hales also know as my ex is walking towards me. Right fucking now.

I looked behind me and Jake wasn't to far behind he must have got distracted by something. Mason was soon in front of me.

"Hey, Nate"

"It's Nathan."

I tried to walk past him but he grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me back. When he let go I backed up a little bit.

I looked back to see one of the football players talking to Jake. He was looking between me and the player.

"I'm trying to get to you just hold on for a sec."

I sighed and look back in front of me and Mason is staring directly into my eyes.

"You know I said I was sorry for what happened right?"

"Good boyfriends don't abandon their partner for parties"

"It wasn't that serious, Nate"

"So cheating isn't a big deal?"

"I apologized"

"And I didn't forgive you so move out of my way"

He grabbed my hand brought it up to his chest

"Please Nathan take me back. It could be the way it was before, just you and me"

I snatched my hand back

"How it was before was terrible. All you did was take advantage of me."

"Nathan..."

His voice got low and it startled me a little since he took a dominant tone. He used to do this all the time to get what he wanted from me. It always worked but now it practically has no effect on me.

"I am not having this conversation again with you. Move."

His eyes started glowing the light blue they always did. Again, no effect.

"We can go somewhere else, Nate. Just us again."

His hand went to my shoulder pushing me slightly into the lockers behind me. I tried to push him but this time he slammed me into the lockers aggressively. I could feel his body on mine while I struggled.

I felt something touch my thigh and I started freak out. I tried harder to get him off but he didn't move an inch. What is with me and being weaker than these guys? I should seriously work on that. I tried to move but he had me pinned to the lockers.

"Remember this Nate?"

He reminded me of something that happened before we broke up. About a week before.

I was in the football team's locker room with Mason alone. We were making out but this wasn't new. This was on the night of the full moon and he already had his transformation before this. I didn't transform or get a mate but that was pretty normal.

For me at least.

He gave me a hickey and It felt great but he started to advance and grind on my thigh. I moaned slightly but told him he was starting to go too far. He stopped but laughed it off after.

If only I knew what was gonna happen next this would've never have happened.

~~~End of flashback~~~
"Get the fuck off me!"
I looked around for Jake and I saw him trying to get past a good majority of guys. I'm guessing they are berating him about football stuff.
"A little help!"
"I'm trying!"
Once the bell did ring I had had enough. I pulled my wrist away from his grip and rammed fist into his stomach. He grunted and keeled over making his face very knee-able. I totally kneed him in the face. While he laid on the floor collecting himself I looked aver at Jake and narrowed my eyes at him.
Whatever. I handled it anyway.
"Mister Wilden, you are quite early. Is everything going okay for you?"
"Yeah Ms. Lincoln I'm fine just wanted an early start."
I gave her the most believable smile and she raised her eyebrow but finally turned around to finish writing whatever on the board. I guess I was pretty early. I wasn't keeping track of time anyway.
People started coming in and sitting down at their seats. I heard a few conversations that had my name in them but right now I couldn't find it in myself to care.
A lot of the boys were staring at me and I felt really uncomfortable with them around. I knew what they wanted and that makes it even worse.
Most of the guys that bullied me before were staring too. Jake walked into the classroom but most eyes were still on me.
"Mister Tropen, late as always"
"I was.. at a team meeting"
"Okay then, hurry up and take your seat please."
He sat in his seat but he wasn't near me in this class. I looked over at him but looked away when he turned towards me.
"Nathan, are you mad at me?"
"No shit. I was getting harassed by my ex while you let some guys hold you up. But oh don't worry, everything is fine and taken care of."
"Nate, don't do this right now"
I didn't answer and kept my eyes on the front of the class
"Don't ignore me.."
I still didn't respond but I did look over at him. He seemed annoyed and upset at the same time.
"Nathan!"
His eyes glowed and I felt myself start to answer. God Dammit.
"What!"
"Who was it!"
"It was Mason!"
"Mason Hales? As in your ex!... Not the point. I know I shouldn't have held you up for so long and I'm sorry."
I already regret thinking about giving him a chance. I don't care how many guys he had piled up talking to him. When I was being harassed he was obviously too worried about being to mean and not pushing people out the way.
"Does sorry change the fact that you weren't there? I thought you wanted to prove yourself. Me not being the top priority is not proving yourself."
"You're being selfish again, Nathan. I'm not gonna fling people into walls and cause unnecessary damage."
"That is exactly what you should done!That's not me being selfish that's me wanting your help! Regardless of me being your mate or not, in a situation like that all you should be thinking about is some way to save me!"
"You're not listening to me!"
I balled my hands up to try and soothe my anger
"No, you aren't listening to me! I was in a situation where I could barely protect myself and you *know* I'm vulnerable! I'm literally carrying your child and you want to worry about some cracks in the walls and someone's medical bill! Well fuck that and fuck you!"
I heard a loud bang after and I turned my head towards the sound.
I saw a crumbled up desk with broken legs and Jake's hand frozen in place in a fist. He was breathing hard and his eyes were glowing quite vibrantly.
He then stood up and walked out of the classroom
"Mister Tropen, get back here!"
He slammed the door and a vibration went through the classroom
"Go after mate"
"Why? So that he won't want to be held accountable for his own actions? So that he can be mad and call me selfish for feeling perfectly normal feelings?"
I growled, I was trying to contain myself. Fuck it all.
I jumped up and ran out of the classroom.
"Mr. Wilden!"
I looked up and down the hall and couldn't see him. I focused on his scent and followed it.
I ended up outside and I saw Jake disappear into the woods
"Jake!"
I want to absolutely tear him to shreds.
I ran through the woods following his smell while dodging trees and other things. I came to a place near his house and I saw him go into some kind of cellar I haven't seen before. I jogged but the entrance started closing so I ran as fast as I could.
