Chapter 13: Dating Game

The next morning Isabella got up early as she was late on Monday and she didn't want to hear anymore of Seth's snapping as he was in a mood these days. It was Wednesday means she had a date with John and she was looking forward to it as he was a sweet and funny person, not some arrogant man like someone. She got dressed in a dark gray pencil skirt along with a blouse with black and white strips on it. She pulled up her hair in a bun, did a little makeup, slipped into the heels and left the house after yelling 'good bye' to Megan. Minutes later she was in the bus looking out of the window. To say this job as Seth Anderson's PA was good for her would be an understatement, it was really helpful and helped her to pay the expenses and buy some new clothes and other accessories and necessities for her and Megan. She was broken out of her thoughts when bus came to a halt. She quickly stepped out of the bus and stepped towards the coffee shop.

"The usual?" The young barista asked and Isabella nodded while smiling. She paid for the coffee and left the shop and walked towards the office building. Reaching the top floor, she knocked on Seth's office door and he replied with a usual 'come in'

"Good Morning" Isabella greeted while placing the coffee on his desk.

"Morning" Seth replied, in his usual cold voice "I want you to fax these documents as soon as possible" He said, dismissing her.

Isabella started working on faxing the documents and it still felt a tiring work for her after faxing for about fifty times. Not a moment later, she heard a throat being cleared and looked up to find John.

"Good morning, what are you doing here ?" Isabella asked

"Morning to you too and I came to hand Mr. Anderson these files" He said while smiling at her "Do are you ready for the date?" He asked resting his hands on Isabella's table.

"I am" Isabella replied, chuckling

"I'm pretty sure that you both don't get paid for flirting" A voice said and they both looked up to find Seth leaning on the door of his office with his arms crossed and his face as usual, cold.

"Uhm sorry, I just came to hand you these files" John said while giving files to Seth.

"Now leave" Seth ordered with power in his voice and John left the floor quickly.

"Make reservation for two in Trattoria Trecolori for lunch" Seth said and went inside his office, not giving Isabella a chance to even nod

Must be going with that cake faced Elaina Isabella muttered

Why do you care? Her conscience said

I don't she said to her conscience

Sure her conscience mocked.

Wow Isabella, now you are fighting with yourself, great. She shook her head and quickly made reservation for two at that blah blah restaurant. She quickly finished her work and left the floor to go to lunch. She sat down across Ellie who was busy typing on her phone and didn't even notice that Isabella was there. Isabella slowly crept her hand on the table and snatched the phone from Ellie who clenched her hands on her chest with her mouth open, clearly frightened about anything happened to her brand new phone.

"What the heck, Bella?" Ellie whispered-yelled and Isabella laughed out loud. "Give me my phone back" Ellie tried snatching her phone back from Isabella's hands but failed

"Who were you texting?" Isabella asked

"No one" Ellie said

"Why you always lying, Ellie?" Isabella asked smirking slightly

"I said no one, Bella" Ellie tried convincing her

"But the blush on your face says otherwise" Isabella said smirking "I'll check it myself that who you were texting"

Isabella opened her phone and went in the recent conversation of Ellie with Carson.

Hi, Ellie bear- C

I told you to not call me with that horrible name- E

Okay, Ellie bear- C

I swear I'll kick your ass if you'll call me with that horrible name again- E

I'll be more than pleased to offer my ass to you, with you in my bed, naked under the sheets. Hmm what a good scenario- C

SHUT UP- E

Isabella laughed loudly and looked over to Ellie who was blushing red as a tomato. Isabella decided not to tease her friend anymore so she changed the topic and they both ended up playing a stupid game of twenty questions

"I'm going to the washroom, don't dare to leave without me. I'll be back in a few minutes" Ellie said and headed towards the washrooms. She did her business, came out of the toilet and started washing her hands when she felt a presence behind her. She turned around and gasp to find Carson standing.

"Carson, when did u get here and what the heck are you doing in ladies washroom?" Ellie asked but he just shrugged coming towards her and she backed away but suddenly she was stopped by the wall. She turned her head slightly to find if there was any other space through which she could escape but she was trapped. She turned her head towards him and her heart beat quicken to find him so close to her.

"What are you doing, Carson?" Ellie whispered

"Shh" He said while leaning in towards her and pressed his lips onto hers and she gasped. This was the first kiss she was sharing with Carson. His lips started moving against hers and she wrapped her arms around his neck. Their lips moved in sync and they both pulled away after a few moments to catch a breath but he didn't stop. He trailed kisses down her neck and lifted her up from the ground and wrapped her legs around his'. Ellie let out a slight moan while making him stop.

"Carson, stop" Ellie said and he stopped while looking her straight in the eyes.

"You know what?" Carson asked

"What?" Ellie asked, whispering

"I was so turned on when I imagined you naked in my bed" He said making her blush

"Ellie, you dead?" Isabella yelled from outside the washrooms

Ellie quickly pushed Carson away while straightening her clothes and running a hand through her hair.

"You stay here for a while and don't leave until me and Bella go to our floors" Ellie said to Carson in a low voice and he nodded.

She opened the door and got out of the washrooms and walked towards the elevator with Isabella.

"What were you doing?" Isabella asked as she pressed on 16 button.

"I was just fixing my makeup" Ellie said and Isabella nodded

It was soon 7:00 pm and Isabella started collecting her stuff, getting ready to leave as she had a date to attend. It was not a moment after the intercom beeped indicating Seth had called her

"Yes, Sir?" Isabella asked once entering his office

"Finish writing my speech for the charity event for homeless children by tonight as the event is the night after tomorrow" Seth said while he too stood up to leave

"Sorry sir, I can't do it by tonight. My work hours are finished plus I have plans" Isabella said, looking down on the floor

"What plans?" Seth asked, curiosity lacing in his voice

"I have a date to attend to, Sir" Isabella said

"A date?" Seth asked and Isabella nodded

"With whom" He continued

"I don't think that's any of your concern" Isabella said while turning to leave. If he was going to be rude with her then she would be too. If he was going to show his unnecessary arrogance to her then she would too. She had enough of his unnecessary remarks and questions. As she stepped out of the office and closed the door, she heard the voice of glass shattering. She quickly dropped her purse on the ground and rushed inside his office and saw pieces of glass on the floor and his hand bleeding.

"Mr. Anderson, what the heck are you doing? Don't you know if a piece of the glass would stuck in your skin, it would pain too much and why did you even broke the glass in the first place? Are you angry with me-" Isabella rambled but Seth cut him off

"Leave, Isabella" Seth ordered

"I can't, I need to wipe the blood from your hand and clean your office-" Seth cut her off again

"I said, leave" Seth yelled and Isabella flinched and turned to leave after thinking for a good two minutes.

"And Isabella?" He stopped her

"Yes?" Isabella asked, not even turning around

"Enjoy your date" Seth said in a cold voice and Isabella left.

Isabella reached home at 7:30 and John was coming to pic her up at 9:00 as they were going for a simple dinner. The whole ride from the company to her house, Isabella could not stop thinking about Seth. The incident today was very strange. Sure she knew that he was a cold hearted jerk but she also knew that somewhere inside he had a good and soft heart which was shielded. She shook all of the thoughts and focused on getting ready for the date. She got dressed in a mint colored flowy dress with a brown belt above her waist. She let her hair open and curled its ends slightly. She applied the minimum amount of makeup and put on her silver earrings. She slipped into her brown pumps, took her phone and purse and walked downstairs and met Megan in the way who was busy doing her homework in the living room.

"You're doing homework, Meg?" Isabella asked, not believing it

"Yep" Megan said

"Are you serious?" Isabella asked

"I'm, Izzy" Megan said while giving her sister a dry look

"No, I was just asking because I rarely see you doing your homework" Isabella said

"I usually do it in school but I was getting bored as hell so I decided to do it, now let me concentrate, Izzy" Megan said

"Okay okay" Isabella said and the doorbell rang and she ran to open it. There stood John with a rose in his hand. He was wearing a pair of black jeans with a black button up shirt.

"You look beautiful" John said causing Isabella to blush

"You look good too" Isabella said

"Come on, we're getting late" John said

"I'm going, Meg" Isabella yelled to Megan who replied with a 'yes'. She closed the main door behind her.

After a 10 minute ride, they entered into a fancy looking restaurant. They got seated on the seats which were already reserved by John. They decided to play twenty questions to get to know each other better. After a good five minutes of them laughing and fooling around, the waiter came and took their orders.

"Are you two ready to order?" The waiter asked

"I'll have a chicken steak with fries and a glass of fruit punch" Isabella said while skimming through the pages of the menu.

"I'll have the fried rice with fries and a glass of champagne" John said

They both took their precious time in finishing their food and after it they ordered a small chocolate cake as Isabella was craving for chocolate.

"I really enjoyed the date" Isabella said once they were out of the restaurant.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it" John said while smiling down at her.

John's car stopped in front of Isabella's house and she stepped out of the car along with John.

"Thanks again for such a wonderful night" Isabella said while smiling towards him

"You're welcome" John said while leaning towards her. Isabella thought for a moment and decided to stop him.

"I-I'm sorry John, I can't do this" She said while looking down

"Why?" John asked

"B-because I don't like you in that way, surely you are a really great guy but I can't see you in that way and I realized it tonight when we were having fun in the restaurants just like best friends because it felt better than what you were going to do now. I really enjoyed your company, heck I had a really good laugh after many days but I'm sorry about this dating thing" Isabella said on the verge of tears.

"It's okay, Isabella. I enjoyed this whole thing as friends too. And you don't have to be sorry for that because feelings are a thing which erupt automatically and I don't want to force you in anything if you don't have feelings for me. I'll get over it too in a short period of time" John said

"I'm sorry again, John" Isabella said

"Don't say sorry, none of this is your fault" John said while wiping Isabella's tears

"Ok so enough of this emotional shit as Megan says and let's be friends" Isabella said

"Friends" John said while smiling and Isabella hugged him

"Bye, Isabella"

"Bye, John" Isabella said and John slide into his car and left. Isabella decided to change into something comfortable and text Ellie about the date as Ellie was more excited than her. She quickly texted her the whole matter before drifting into deep slumber.
