Chapter 21: The Encounter

Megan was leaving for her college the next day and Isabella was very sad that she had to stay in the house all by herself and not having Megan's shouting or her laughter. Isabella still haven't told her about her encounter with their father, she didn't get the courage to. She knew what Megan's reaction would be if she told her. Megan was in her room packing her bags while Isabella was in the living room watching TV when she heard the doorbell rang. She got up and went to open the door. Ashton was standing there. She took in his appearance, his hair were gray with a few streaks of black hair, his face was a bit wrinkled and his shoulders were slumped.

"Why are you here, father?" Isabella whispered, she didn't want Megan to face him yet.

"Did you decide to give me a chance?" He asked. It was only a week when he was their apologizing and just after a week he was standing there in her door step asking of she decided to give him a chance, this man was really impatient.

"It has been only a week, give me some time" Isabella said

"WHAT IS THIS MAN DOING HERE?" Megan's voice yelled from Isabella's behind causing her to freeze.

"Megan" Ashton whispered as he walked towards her.

"Don't come near me" Megan said as she started backing away "I SAID DON'T COME NEAR ME" Megan yelled

"MEGAN!" Isabella yelled back "You're being disrespectful" She added

"Disrespectful? I talk like this to people I hate and you know it Izzy" Megan said

"He's our father, Meg" Isabella said

"Father? Haha really? Fathers don't abuse their daughters" Megan said

"I'm sorry, Megan. I'm really sorry, I know I'm stupid, idiot whatever you like to say but please forgive me, I know I messed up big time but please give me a chance, I want to spend the remaining of my life with my daughters" He said

"I don't want to see your face" Megan said "Go away"

"Father, Megan is angry and she can't understand anything at this moment, she needs time and space. You should go" Isabella said and Ashton nodded as he went away.

"Megan-" Isabella started but Megan cut her off.

"Look Izzy, I don't want to see that man again. We don't need him in our lives, Aunt Jess and Kevin are more than enough for us" Megan said as she walked away in her room. She needed space. Isabella was thinking of giving him a chance because she knew Ashton won't hurt them anymore. Jessica told her that he was send to Rehab for his treatment after he was out of jail the time when they left New York. The doctors said that he was in deep sorrow after Mom died because he loved her with her all heart and it caused him to hit her to overcome him anger. And now he was all fit and sorry for his behavior even the doctors said that no harm. Isabella was more than glad to possibly have him back in their life because no matter what he was still their father and her love for him never faded. One third part of her heart was still filled with the love for her father. She would talk to Megan about it and will forgive him only after Megan would approve because she was her first priority.

The next day arrived quickly and Megan was leaving for college.

"Did you pack everything?" Isabella asked

"Yes" Megan said as she placed her luggage in the living room.

"I'm going to miss you" Isabella hugged her and she hugged her back.

"I'm going to miss you too" Megan said "Now don't make me cry, my makeup will be ruined" She added as she pulled away from the hug and Isabella chuckled

"Visit me whenever you get time" Isabella said and Megan nodded

"Bye" Megan said as she wiped a tear which fell from her eye

"Goodbye" Isabella said and they hugged one last time before Megan left.

Seth was in his office having a meeting with one of the dealers. After the meeting was over he took out a packet from his pocket and took out a cigarette. He lighted it and placed it in his mouth and inhaled it allowing it to work in his system. He let out a puff of smoke and continued smoking, he had been doing that a lot lately. After a moment or more, he heard his phone ring.

"Hello" He picked up without even glancing at the screen

"Hello" It was Kevin

"Kevin, how are you" Seth said running a hand through his hair as his eyes were drooping shut, he really needed sleep.

"I'm good, what about you?" Kevin asked knowing the answer which was a lie.

"I'm fine" Seth said, no he was nowhere close to fine. This past year has been the worst year of his life. Less sleep, more work.

"Let's cut to the chase, I have a news for you" Kevin said

"What is it" Seth said clearly not interested in whatever he was going to say. He took out another puff of smoke

"Isabella is back" Kevin said and Seth nodded. Isabella was back.

Wait.

Isabella is back.

"Say what?" Seth said as he stood up from his chair, all his sleep was now gone.

"Isabella is back" Kevin said and Seth smiled a bit

"Where's she living?" Seth asked as he grabbed his blazer and his car keys and left the building

"In her old apartment" Kevin said and Seth quickly cut the call as he started driving towards her house. She didn't know how much he went through this past year, every night she invaded his sleep leaving him bothered and breathless. He spent nights with numerous girls but no one gave that feelings which Isabella's one glance gave him. She didn't know what was coming to her as he was not planning to letting her go any time soon.

Isabella was in her white tank top and black cotton panties, baking a cake. She was very sad and bored after Megan left so she decided to busy herself in cooking. After baking, she was going to find if there were any job opportunities on her laptop. It was 8:30 pm. She busied herself in playing color switch when she heard the doorbell rang and her phone beeped at the same time. She thought it would be Ellie as she was coming over for a sleepover, she was very excited when she found out that Isabella was back. Isabella ignored her phone and went to open the door.

"I was waiting for you Ell-" Isabella started but stopped when she saw Ellie was nor their. It was Seth. His eyes were roaming around her body painfully slow and that moment she realized she was only in a tank top and panties.

"S-Seth" Isabella stuttered as she invited him inside the house and quickly wore her robe that was resting on the couch.

"How are you?" Seth started, he didn't even know what to say. The awkwardness was heavy between them.

" I'm fine?" Isabella said but it came out like a question.

"Where did you went away?" Seth asked

"Uhm, I was in Miami" Isabella said

"Why?" Seth asked as he faced her, they were currently sitting in her living room couch

"Personal issues" Isabella said, of course she wouldn't tell him her whole story. Seth just nodded. Everything was way too awkward than Seth planned it to be.

"Well this is awkward" Isabella mumbled " I'm going to bring something to drink" She said and went into the kitchen. Thankfully her jeans were resting on the couch outside the living room so she got rid of her robe and slipped into her jeans. She poured some orange juice in two glasses and walked into the living room. She passed a glass to him and sat down beside him.

"How do you know that I came back?" Isabella asked as she sipped on her juice

"Kevin told me" He said and Isabella just nodded

"Would you like some cake?" Isabella asked as she smelled the aroma of the cake which she left in the oven hitting her nostrils

"Sure" Isabella went into the kitchen and brought some cake in a plate. She placed it on the table and sat down beside him

"So, where are you working" Seth asked

"I was just looking through my laptop for any job opportunities but I didn't find one, so I'm thinking of working as a waitress in a restaurant maybe" Isabella said as she took a bite of her cake

"Why would you work as a wautress? My company is opened for you anytime" Upon hearing his statement, Isabella perked up

"Really?" Isabella said excitedly

"Yes and what made you think you can't work with me?" Seth asked as he faced her

" I just left the company without any notice or any resignation letter so I thought that you would be angry with me and you won't accept me as your PA again" Isabella rambled

"No, it's fine and I'm in need of a PA too" Seth said smiling

"But what about your other PA who has been working with you past this year?" Isabella asked, not being able to control a tint of jealousy in her heart

"I never had a PA since you left" Seth said looking straight in her eyes, his statement caused a small happy feeling to erupt in Isabella's chest

"So, do you accept my offer, Miss Smith" Seth asked in his professional tone

"Yes, Mr. Anderson" Isabella replied smiling

"I want you start this Monday, be there at sharp 8:00 am" Seth said

"I gotta leave now, bye" Seth said as he walked outside her apartment and towards his car.

"Bye" Isabella replied

Seth got in his car and started driving towards his penthouse, somehow he couldn't manage to wipe off the smile off his mouth. She was going to work for him again and everything would be hopefully normal again.
