Chapter 34: Letting Go

The noise of birds chirping outside woke Isabella up. She groaned and tried to move to get out of bed but failed as she felt an arm resting on her waist. What she and Seth did last night came to her mind instantly and she blushed while covering herself with the sheets. She tried moving his arm but his grip just tightened.

"Seth" Isabella said in a low voice "Seth, wake up!"  He groaned and tightened his arm around her waist

"Oh how I would love to wake up every day to this" He said while staring at her

"Stop being so cheesy, now get up I have to use the bathroom" Isabella said, clearly blushing at his previous statement

"No, I'm enjoying the view" He said biting his lip while glancing her now uncovered body. She quickly pulled up the sheets till her neck "Pervert" Saying this, she wrapped the sheets around herself and went in the bathroom not even galncing towards Seth as he was um naked.

Isabella was preparing the breakfast when Seth entered the kitchen and broke the silence "I've been wanting to talk to you about something since last night"

"Sure, ask away" Isabella said while placing the breakfast on the dining table

"I saw your scars, the one on your neck and the other one on your belly. I didn't believe you when you told me that you fell down the stairs, now tell me honestly what happened" Seth said and Isabella froze.

"Umm, let's talk it over breakfast" Isabella said, she was ready to tell him everything. After watching him opening up to her last night, she felt that she could trust him with her past too.

"I was twelve when my mom died. We were a happy family when she was still alive. You know, going out every Sundays and all but everything changed when mom died. Dad was devastated of course he would be, it's not easy to lose someone you love and for me, my whole world shattered at that moment when I heard that mom wasn't among us anymore. Nothing was normal after that, Dad used to came home drunk and late and he used to b-beat me, he intended to do that to Megan too who was only 7 that time, but I protected her as she was my baby sister. He didn't beat my often, he used to blame me for mom's death and I used to believe it, apologizing to him every time he blamed me" Isabella finished with tears in her eyes, thinking how everything would've been if her mother was with her at the moment

"That bastard, how did he even dare to lay a hand on you! You're not the one to be blamed, it isn't your fault and your dad, he's messed up in the head" Seth said angrily

"He visited us, apologizing for what he did to me, to us and begging to take him back into our lives but Megan wouldn't even let him say a single word, she despises him" Isabella continued "I'm thinking of going to his place with Megan and clear things up with him"

Seth didn't look pleased with the idea of Isabella geetting near that man ever again. He wouldn't ever want to leave the love of his life with the man who abused her in the past.

"No, you're not going to see him"  Seth said

"But why?" Isabella asked

"I won't let that man get near you ever again" He said in an angry tone

"Look Seth, I know you're concerned but I have to clear things up with him, I need answers from him. I can't keep avoiding his presence everytime he comes near me. This is going to be the first and last time and I won't talk to him ever again if things don't go right, okay?" Isabella said assuring him

"As you wish" Seth said, clearly pissed as he took the empty dishes into the kitchen.

"Seth, listen to me!" Isabella exclaimed as she followed him into the kitchen "Seth!" but he paid no attention to her and started washing the dishes

"Look Seth, just one time let me clear up everything please" Isabella said as she hugged his back

"Okay but on one condition" Seth said galncing at her

"What?" Isabella asked grinning

"I'll come with you" He said

"Fine, now hurry up we have to just 2 hours to clean up, freshen ourselves, pick up Meg and go to meet him" Isabella said as she went towards his room to change in her clothes from last night. She put on the dress and combed her hair while mentally preparing hedself for facing Ashton and convincing Megan to at least talk to him once.

"C'mon, Bella" Seth yelled and Isabella replied with a 'coming' she quickly slipped into her heels and went in the living room where Seth was waiting.

"So yeah that's pretty much how it is going to-Bella?" Seth said breaking her out of her thoughts

"Y-Yeah?" Isabella asked, they were still in the car

"I called you 3 times but you didn't reply, what are you thinking about?" Seth asked

"Ugh, I'm just nervous" Isabella said while changing the song on the radio

"I get it that you're nervous but don't let this get to you, stay calm and don't stress yourself everything will be fine" Seth said reassuringly as he took her hand and kissed the back of it while his other hand was on the steering wheel

"Bella, where were you? You didn't even think about leaving your old grandma a message, I was worried sick about you- oh good morning, Seth" Penelope started lashing out on Isabella but stopped as soon as she saw Seth and let them both come in the house

"Good morning to you too, Penelope" Seth greeted her

"Izzy what the heck-" Megan started as she skipped downstairs ready to give her elder sister a lecture for being so careless but stopped when she saw Seth

"Um I'm sorry guys I wasn't planning to stay for the night but we got a little uh caught up, Meg I have to talk to you about something" Isabella started as she saw Seth and Megan smirking from the corner of her eyes

"Yeah, go ahead" Megan said as they went into the living room

"We're going to meet Ashton and you're coming with us" Isabella said

"Why the hell? Izzy did you forget what he did to you? Why are you doing this?" Megan asked furiously

"Meg, I just want to clear up few things it's not like we're going to take him back into our life but we just got to talk to him" Isabella said

"No Izzy, I'm not going to face that bastard" Megan said crossing her arms

"Just this one time Meg, please" Isabella pleaded

"Okay, but don't blame me if my tongue get a bit violent" She said

"Uh okay fine then, let's go" Isabella said

Isabella had called Jessica in the morning to get Ashton's address and turned out that he lived just a few streets away from their house.

"Isabella!" Ashton said as soon as he opened the door of his apartment, he looked shocked, surprised and of course happy "Come inside" He invited them in yhe living room

"I'll get you guys something to drink" Ashton said and went into the kitchen

Isabella felt a hand on hers which calmed her down. To say she was nervous would be an understatement. It was going to be a lot more difficult than she thought.

"Everything will be fine baby, calm down" Seth comforted her as he kissed her hands and she just nodded

Ashton came back with some orange juice "Would you guys like to eat something?" He asked

"No, it's really not necessary we're just here to talk" Megan said

"Very well then" Ashton smiled at her younger daughter as she sat on the couch

"This is Seth-"

"Her boyfriend" Seth completed Isabella's sentence as she smiled

"Nice to meet you" Ashton said as they shook hands

"So what did you think? About giving me a chance?" Ashton asked and the air around them became thick

"No we can't, you literally used to beat up my sister every fucking day just because she looked like mom, who the fuck does that? You really thought we're gonna give you another chance? You're sick in the mind if you think that because I don't know about Izzy but I'm never gonna forgive you for what you did to my elder sister, she used to cry every fucking night and I could give her comfort just with my words. I'm sorry, old man but you can't just barge into our lives asking for another chance because what you did is seriously unforgivable" Megan lashed out on him

"Calm down, Meg" Isabella said

"So that's pretty much what we wanted to say, I can't give you another chance it's difficult, I hope you understand" Isabella said "And violence is never the answer, dad. We could've been living like a happy family right now if you didn't mistreat me or Megan, you ruined everything by your own hands"

"I know I messed up big time and I'm so sorry, I never meant to hurt you. You'll always be my little princess" Ashton said as he wiped his tears "C-Can I hug you both? Just one last time?"

"Sure" Isabella said as she went towards him and hugged him, it felt so good to be back in his arms

"Meg" Isabella nudged her sister

"Noo, I'm not hugging him" Megan said her arms crossed

"Don't be such a brat Meg, it's just one time"

"Ugh, whatever" Megan rolled her eyes as she gave hima quick hug

"Take care of my daughter, young man" Ashton said to Seth

"Sure, if you weren't her father then I would have broken your bones by now" Seth said as he smirked

"I like him" Ashton said to Isabella and she laughed

Clearing up things with Ashton wasn't so bad, Isabella still wished if he didn't abuse her so the could've been a happy family but guess, everything happens for a reason and she was happy that things turned out great and no harm done from Megan's side too.

"I'll see you on Monday at work" Isabella said as she climbed out of the car and so did Seth while Megan went inside the house

"Ugh, that long?" Seth asked pouting as he wrapped his arms around her waist

"Yep, Mr. Anderson now go" Isabella said laughing as she tried to push him away

"Where's my kiss?" He asked pulling her close

"What kiss? You don't deserve a kiss you make me work my ass off in the office no you ain't getting any-" She was cut off by his lips on hers, She gave in and kissed him back

"Take it to the room, kids" Penelope shouted from the house and they pulled back

" I should go now, good night" Isabella said as she pushed him back a little

"Good night, honey don't dream about me too much" Seth said

"You wish" Isabella said rolling her eyes and smiling as she went inside the house.

I know, I know I owe you guys an explanation but I was so busy with my exams and all and I was having a major writer's block. I'm finally free now as school ended a week ago and now I promise there will be more and frequent updates. Love you all.
