Chapter 39: The Dinner

Seth groaned opening his eyes because of the bright sunlight coming through his window. He yawned checking the alarm clock beside him which read 10 a.m. He tried stretching his arms but stopped as he felt a weight on his left arm. He looked beside him and saw Isabella resting on it, her hair a wild mess but it still looked beautiful. He let his gaze wander to her long and full eyelashes, her cute nose which turned pink whenever she was crying, her cheekbones, her full kissable lips which were parted at that moment and he could hear snoring faintly. He moved closer and pecked her eyelids.

Seth didn't give a fucking care in the world as long as he got Isabella in his arms, right here in his hold, safe and secure. He knew since the very first moment they laid eyes on each other, that this girl with the kindest heart which was full of innocence and love for others, was someone he's made to meet and to take care of. To follow behind and support when the weight of the world had became too much for her to bear but it took long enough for him to actually realise that and work on that. But now that he had his hands on her he was never letting her go or making her feel alone and little of herself.

"Quit staring" Isabella mumbled in her sleep hidhing her face in his chest

"Why? I can stare all I want" He replied removing strands of hair from her face

"It's creepy, mister" She spoke facing him

"I think it's romantic" He said in a teasing tone

"What happened to you? Are you sick or something?" Isabella laughed at his cheesy comments

"I'm lovesick"

"Yeah you're definitely sick" Isabella said unwrapping the sheets from her body

"Way to ruin a moment, Ms. Smith" to which Isabella just laughed and went into the bathroom.

Isabella took a shower and got dressed in blue jean shorts and a band t-shirt. It was Saturday and she was nervous about the dinner tonight with Seth's family. His dad was a nice man and she already knew Carson so they  weren't a problem but she was worried how his mother would behave and how she was going to deal with her. She shook her head to get rid of all the negative thoughts and walked downstairs to make breakfast. She cooked pancakes and eggs. These past few days she had been taking full care of Seth and she felt happy to do it. It was always him protecting her and taking care of her and now that it switched the other way round she felt happy to be there for him and taking care of him. She hardly let him do any work and Seth was bored out of his mind but she kept reassuring him that it was only going to be like that for one week and then he can go back to his old ways.

Isabella felt a pair of arms wrapped around her waist and a nose nuzzlimg into the crook of her neck. "Well aren't you so touchy this morning"

"It's my way of showing love and care, you should get used to it" Seth said burying his face in the crook of her neck

"Mhm" Isabella mumbled flipping the pancake, her cheeks flushed from his statement

"Are you excited for the dinner tonight?" Seth asked

"Yeah but I'm a little nervous too"

"Don't be, they'll love you" Seth pecked her forehead and went to sit on the dining table leaving Isabella alone with her thoughts

After breakfast Seth was in his study, busy catching up with all the work he missed due to the accident. Isabella was bored out of her mind so she went to the study room where Seth was busy with all the paperwork.

She took slow and quiet steps until she reached the back of his chair. Seth smiled lightly as he felt the smell of her perfume but waited for her move. Isabella placed her hands on his shoulders rubbing and massaging them lightly. She took of his glasses and placed them on the table. Seth didn't miss the look in her eyes, playful with a hint of desire. She pecked his lips and tried to run away giggling but Seth caught her wrist and pulled her down on his lap.

"You can't tease me like that and get away with it so easily" He murmured, a smirk evident on the corner of his lips

Isabella could only blush at his comment she knew he was not going to let her leave now, the hint of desire and longing in his eyes gave that away. So she closed the gap between them and placed her lips on his. Seth pulled her closer by her waist his right hand was on her hip and he pinched her there. Isabella gasped and he took it as an opportunity to put his tongue inside her mouth.

Seth lifted her up from his lap and made his way to their bedroom. He lied her down on the bed and started taking off his clothes.

Isabella squirmed at the sight infront of her. She was still as nervous as she was the first time but this time, there was more excitement than nervousness. She bit her lip at the sight of his length. "Take off your clothes" Seth ordered

Isabella took off her shirt slowly making sure to give him a good show then she did the same with her shorts, leaving herself in a pair of red undergarments. That seemed to turn on Seth more and in a moment he was on the bed with her kissing her roughly. He took off her bra and panties and tossed them on the floor.

"It has been a while" Seth said as he went down on her licking her core. Isabella squired and moaned, she surely missed the feel of his touch. She put her hands in his hair and pulled him back and placed a kiss on his lips "Take me now" She whispered

Seth adjusted himself inside her and Isabella groaned loudly. "You feel so good" He said as he pinned her hands above her and kissed her passionately.

It was soon evening and Isabella was doing her makeup while Seth was inside the shower. She kept it minimal though and applied blush, mascara and a pink lipstick. She decided to curl the ends of her hair and let them down. Seth was dressed in a black button up shirt with grey slacks. Isabella was inside the closet getting dressed in a blue skirt and top set.

She slipped in her skin coloured pumps and they were ready to go.

"You look beautiful" Seth had said once she walked out of the closet. Isabella smiled as he kissed her forehead. She wondered how she got this amazing man.

The ride to the mansion was not that long. Seth tried to lighten Isabella's mood throughout the journey, he knew how nervous she was.

"You're going to be fine" Seth said once they were out of the car

"Let's do this" Isabella muttered looking at him, he nodded and she took a long breath. Her palms were sweating as Seth rang the doorbell. The door opened and they were greeted by his mom.

Angelina smiled and hugged her son. She then took Isabella's appearance and thought that she looked nice and presentable. She gave her a small smile, after all she was doing this for her son and his happiness meant the world to her.

They were inside the mansion in a matter of few minutes. Isabella took in her surroundings and felt a little out of everything. The house was so beautifully decorated, the lightings, paintings, everything looked clean and perfect. There was a huge chandelier hanging in the middle of the ceiling. Seth sensed her discomfort and grabbed her hand as they walked into the living room where everyone was.

Isabella smiled in relief when she saw the familiar faces of Carson, Valerie and Thiago. She wasn't being rude or anything but it was always uncomfortable for her to meet new people, she always had anxious thoughts whether they would like her or not.

"My favourite person is here!" Carson spoke and stood up from his seat to hug Isabella followed by Valerie. Both of them greeted everyone in the room, Santiago was very welcoming towards them he clearly liked Isabella.

"I hope you're recovering fast, son" Santiago spoke

"I'm feeling better now, Bella has been taking good care of me" He said while shooting a wink in Isabella's direction

Santiago laughed out loud but his laugh was cut shortly when one of the maids called them for dinner.

All were settled and the maids started to serve food. Isabella was seated beside Seth and on her left was Valerie. She was a sweet lady but she also had this hard and cold exterior around her which could be scary for some people. From the corner of her eyes she saw her glaring at Thiago who was busy eating, clearly enjoying  the attention on him. Isabella smirked feeling the tension between them.

"So where did you guys meet?" Another lady in the room who was seated beside Seth's uncle asked, she was his wife

There was this question, she was thinking if she could manage to avoid that question but obviously she couldn't. They would clearly judge her if she told them that she was his PA but nonetheless she spoke the truth.

"We met at a coffee shop first, it wasn't a pleasant encounter" Isabella smiled at the memory, clearing her throat she continued "I spilled coffee on him and he was so pissed at me, I thought I was never going to see him again. I was looking for a new job and got the position of personal assistant and he turned out to be my boss"

The woman, whose name she found out was Sofia, her eyes widened "So you're dating your boss, isn't it restricted?"

Isabella shifted uncomfortably in her seat, from the corner of her eyes she could see Angelina smirking but then quickly covered up with a blank look

"We both are mature adults, it's not like I'm dating an underage person. We both have feelings for each other and I don't think it's a problem" Seth said placing his hand on her. Isabella smiled and let out a breath she was holding. Santiago already knew that they were dating and he didn't mind and now Seth's little speech cleared up the thick tension in the room.

"Oh okay I was just worried for you" She gave him a smile, there was more to this family than she was seeing it. The dinner was soon over and everybody was back in the living room. The men were talking about sports and politics and the women were on about different things.

Isabella cleared her throat and called out Angelina "Can I have a talk with you for a minute?" She said, everybody's attention was diverted on her. Seth gave her a confused look but she reassured him that she was going to be fine

"Sure" Angelina said and they both left the room

"What did you want to talk about?" Angelina said, she was clearly impatient and wanted Isabella to say whatever she wanted immediately. She wasn't interested in having a talk with her as she wasn't fond of her.

"I have to talk about whatever is happening, I have been noticing it too that you aren't fond of me. I don't know whether it's my looks or the fact that I'm Seth's employee. I know I'm not like you people I'm from a middle class family and I'm not the prettiest but I can say that I love your son with all my heart. You must've been looking forward to get him a girl who's like you guys but it isn't possible now, out hearts belong to each other. I'm not being disrespectful,  I respect his family members but please don't make it an issue. I'm not with Seth because of his money, I will never think about hurting him in any way. We both would like that if you accept me soon. I just wanted to clear it, I hope you don't mind it" Isabella finished off with a small smile, it felt like a burden had been lifted off of her chest. She knew his mother wasn't an easy woman and she would go to lengths to make them apart so she thought it would be best to talk it out before it was too late.

Isabella could see mixed emotions swirling in her eyes. She was waiting for a reply but it looked like she wasn't going to say anything so Isabella walked back inside and gave Seth a small smile.

Angelina was feeling different things after Isabella finished her little speech. She would have to accept her soon, she was Seth's choice and she loved Seth with her whole heart and she would do anything for her son's happiness. After the death of Vanessa, he was never the same happy boy he used to be. But with Isabella he was happy as ever, she saw him smile like he used to before. If it was for her son she was going to accept that girl.
