Chapter 40: Broken Without You

Isabella could feel Angelina warming up to her, she was glad that the awkward air between them was slowly fading away. Isabella and Seth were still at the Anderson mansion, Seth was playing video games in the game room with Carson, Thiago and Gabriel while Isabella was in the living room with Valerie.

"So what's the deal with Thiago?" Isabella asked plopping a cherry in her mouth

"Nothing, what about him?" Valerie said, they were warming up to each other very nicely, it made Isabella miss Ellie.

"I could feel the sexual tension on the dining table" She smirked and Valerie threw a pillow at her which made Isabella laugh

"There is nothing between us okay? Get this thought out of your mind. He is just an annoying piece of shit who loves to make me suffer" Valerie remarked, a faint blush creeping her neck which didn't go unnoticed by Isabella

"Sure" she snorted and rolled her eyes playfully "What are you girls talking about?" Seth asked as he came in the living room, Thiago and Carson following behind. Valerie's eyes widened and she gave Isabella a look of warning to not tell them.

"Nothing, just some stuff" Isabella smiled and pecked his cheek "It's getting late, we should head home"

They bid their goodbyes to everyone and left the house. The ride back home was quiet but comfortable giving Isabella time to appreciate and be thankful for this day, how her life had changed and how far they both had came together. Sometimes it bothers her when she imagines what her life would've been without Seth and all the people related to him. Her mouth instantly turned into a smile.

"You look happy" Seth broke the silence and placed his left hand on top of hers.

"I am happy" She kissed his hand. She wanted to tell him how much she loved her and how much he meant to her but she never really got the chance to confess.

"We should go out on a date tomorrow" She said, feeling confident all of a sudden. Seth looked surprised for a bit but agreed nonetheless.

"Sure, where do you want to go?" He asked pulling up in front of the building.

"Um, how about we watch a nice movie and then go for dinner?" Isabella said excitedly. They left the car and walked inside the building.

"Typical" Seth laughed brushing his nose against hers once they were inside the elevator

"Oh we can totally go to a karaoke bar" Isabella giggled at the expression on his face.

"Or I can rent a boat for the day and we can have boat dinner" Seth said pulling her inside the house.

"Romantic" She said, raising her eyebrows.

They ended the night in each other's arms, wrapped around in a blanket and watching The Notebook. Isabella could swear she saw a single tear falling out of Seth's right eye and made sure to tease him about that later.

Isabella had an off on saturday so it was easy for her to go dress shopping for the evening with Ellie. Seth was busy doing some work in the study, she told him that she was going out for shopping and left at 1 p.m.

Ellie was already outside Seth's building when Isabella reached there. Her eyes covered with shades and her head slowly moving to the loud music playing on the radio. She didn't notice Isabella until she turned off the radio and was creepily smiling at her.

"Jeez, Bella you scared me!" Isabella just fluttered her eyelashes

"Stop doing that, you look creepy" Ellie muttered before bursting into laughter

"I missed you so much, my Ellie bear" Isabella attacked Ellie in a hug, they were going out together after such a long time.

"I missed you too" Ellie returned back the hug tightly

"It's been so long since we last went out together for shopping" Isabella said to which Ellie agreed nodding her head.

After checking in about five shops and trying on almost fifteen dresses, Isabella finally settled onto a navy blue dress which reached her mid thigh and hugged her body and curves in the right places. The dress had net sleeves and neckline. She also bought a pair of heels with the dress. Ellie just randomly bought two dresses and a pair of heels. After paying for everything they went to the food court, tired and feet hurting.

"How is Megan?" Ellie asked suddenly

"I haven't talked to her in a while, last time I called her she was busy with assignments and tests. She told me she'll call me once she gets some free time" Isabella sipped her drink

"I miss her, when is she thinking about paying a visit to us?"

"I don't know, I'll ask her to come back soon. I miss her so damn much"

"How are things with Carson?" Isabella asked

"Better than ever!" Ellie exclaimed smiling brightly. Isabella felt happy for her friend and wished she would stay as happy forever.

They bid their goodbyes to each other and went to their home. Isabella was about to go into their room to place the things she bought, when she saw Seth still working in the study. She rolled her eyes and went inside slowly lifting up the glasses resting on the brink of his nose.

"That's enough work for today" She closed the book he was writing in and pushed it aside

"Honey, I have so much work to catch up on, so many clients to deal with" Her heart fluttered at the endearment that he used for her.

"You've been working since one in the afternoon, you need rest you're a human!" Isabella exclaimed

"Ugh, can I ever say no to you?" Seth groaned but gave in eventually because of that innocent smile resting on Isabella's lips and the look in her eyes.

"I'm going to take a shower first" Isabella made a run towards the bathroom but Seth was quick to catch her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Let me go" She laughed struggling in his grip

"Um, I have a better idea" Seth said, pretending to think something

"What?"

"Save water, shower together" His eyes were dark and hooded. Isabella's chuckles quieted down and she backed away from him walking inside the bathroom.

"Be inside in two minutes" She left him watching her back with his mouth wide open.

Seth fulfilled his promise of taking Isabella to a boat dinner for their date. The date went by smoothly with them talking and having fun. The atmosphere was so calm and comfortable it reminded Isabella how much she loved calm surroundings. The dinner was delecious, they had sea food. All the effort Seth made for their date was heart warming.

Isabella stood at the end of the cruise, her hands wrapped around herself and enjoying the wind blowing in her face. She heard faint music being played si she started humming to the music. She turned around only to see Seth standing there with his hands in his pockets, looking right into her eyes. It almost felt like he was staring right through her soul. Isabella tried to give him a small smile which he didn't return. She walked towards him, her steps slow. She felt naked under his gaze, he was undressing her with his eyes.

"Uh, I'll go get some water" She tried to walk past him but he was quick to get a hold of her upper arm.

She turned around, looking into his eyes full of emotions, full of unspoken love and a shiver trailed down her body.

"I-" He cut her off by placing two fingers on her lips. Isabella's eyes instantly fluttered and her heart beating faster than normal.

He brushed away the strand of her hair placing it behind her ear. "I'm so lucky" Isabella could just look at him with confusion swirling through her mind.

"I'm so damn lucky that I got to meet you, that I got to be with you. The moment you spilled coffee on me I realised I was a goner. I'm very good at hiding my feelings and not letting emotions control me but since the moment I laid my eyes on you I couldn't get a hold of my own emotions and feelings. I never thought I will ever settle down with one woman, I was a player before you walked into my life. I thought of ways to hurt you with my words and my actions because I thought it would help me get you out of my mind but every time I said anything harsh to you, my heart ached. Then I thought maybe if I kiss you and have my way with you, I'll get rid of these unwanted feelings but every taste of your lips pulled me closer to you. My feelings were all over the place. I was so ready to kill Stefan when I found out that he kidnapped you but then you called me saying all the things you didn't mean but my heart broke and I thought I lost you, my whole world shattered and I couldn't stop drinking and smoking but I knew our love is stronger than that and you can't do anything to hurt me. I love you so much and I want to spend my whole life with you, I can not think about losing you again, baby I'm so broken without you. I want to wakeup next to your beautiful face every morning. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me." He got on his knees and took out a small velvet box from his pocket. Isabella gasped out loud, tears falling out from her eyes "Will you marry me?"

Isabella was still processing his words in her mind. He poured his heart out for her and she couldn't even manage to let out a yes. She wiped away the tears from her cheeks "YES! Yes, I'll marry you" Seth smiled brightly and put the gorgeous diamond ring on her finger. It looked very beautiful on her finger.

He stood up and kissed her passionately on the lips. "I love you so much" He said, wiping her tears. Isabella sniffled and leaned into his touch immediately. Her heartbeat slowly calmed down.

"I love you too" Isabella wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me too, I can't imagine my life without you. Please don't ever give up one me" She nuzzled her nose in the crook of his neck

"Honey, I promise to be by your side forever" He smiled and took her hand in his. The sincerity in his voice made Isabella's heartbeat faster, love seeping through every fiber of her body.

"I'm so glad I decided to work as your personal assistant" Isabella said looking in to his eyes

"Me too" Seth muttered, resting his head on her forehead. Seth loved to look into her bright eyes, her eyes were the best thing about her. He was truly grateful for her presence. With Isabella in his life, he felt at home.
