11. But You Don't.

"I still love you, I never stopped."
I love you; three words, too many meanings
For some those words can take you on the high she once felt, like she was on top of the world looking down at all the tiny objects below.
Or they can make you pause in fright, knowing you don't feel the same way and wanting to let that person know in your heart-broken rage; piece-by-broken-piece.
"I think you're just telling yourself that."
On one side of the conversation the man fisted his hands, knowing what he felt was genuine.
But the girl knew he was drunk on her, and eventually, he would become sober again.
"No, it's true."
Her heart started to clench, the sincerity in his tone making her believe that maybe he was right. Maybe it was just a mistake.
But he stopped loving you, you knew that. You were yourself and that drove him away; but that's okay, and you know that now.
"Then why?"
She never once questioned why he fell in love with her in the first place, she just knew he loved her. But now, times have changed.
The answer here would either make or break the future they have together and a million reasons can be told, one you can't take back with another silly excuse.
"I just love you, is that not enough?"
She grew frustrated with him, knowing he was leading her on like he had done in the past.
She wanted him to feel the heartbreak she felt; it wouldn't be fair to heave it all on her shoulders.
"No, you need a reason."
The once broken heart was glued back together by the strongest superglue in the world, the one formed by tears.
She knew whatever the reason was, he was still going to be out of her life come morning.
"I love you because you love me."
The man was so confident with his answer. His voice coming out dominating that she once loved, but now hated.
He didn't know about the glue holding her together, he didn't know he created a woman stronger than he could've imagined, he just knew he wanted her back; for the time being.
"Wrong, again."
The shock on his face when the voice more dominating and confident came out of her mouth was enough to make the whole deal worth it for her.
She was finally showing him he didn't own her heart.
"But I loved you."
She almost laughed at the turn of events, but she held it in.
He looked broken, and she was glad; it was exactly like the mental picture she has of him looking down at her broken figure with a smirk.
"Well you shouldn't, cause the feelings aren't the same."
A thousand words could explain how he felt that night as the girl he thought he knew everything about suddenly became a different person, stomping his ego to the ground with a sparkly high-heel to make sure he knew he wasn't better than the ant passing by; before sauntering out of his life way different from the way she sauntered in.
But only one word will do:
