Zhao Youlin cast a profound glance at Ye Yan and smirked, “President Ye, it’s very smart and talented of you to use that medical equipment to develop fragrances and broaden your business.”

Ye Yan smiled faintly and said, “Sometimes, it’s best not to burn your bridges. A crafty man should have more than one way to keep himself safe.”

Zhao Youlin smiled. She no longer dwelled on this topic and went straight to the main point as she said, “President Ye, then, what kind of terms are you willing to come up with in order to exchange for a place in the advertising space for your new product?”

Ye Yan took a cup of hot tea from Li in an elegant manner. He took a sip before he blurted out the words, making it sound like a simple issue, “How about doubling those funds that the Ye Group has invested in Zhao Enterprise?”

Li’s hand shook and the tea that she had been serving nearly knocked on the glass table. After she recovered her senses, she offered her apology and quickly left the spot.

Not only Li, but Zhao Youlin was also caught off guard upon hearing the large sum of money offered by Ye Yan. Her eyes flickered and carried a hint of faint smile.

It looked like the person before her had placed very high expectations on his new product! On second thought, if she thought about this further, it was only understandable for him to do so.

Even though Ye Yan was the president of the Ye Group, his foundation was still not very stable. He was besieged on all sides and many had wanted to pull him down from his current position.

Therefore, there was no other better way than using a successful and profitable case to convince them.

“President Ye, I could see that you have come here today with great sincerity. So, which advertising spot do you want to vie for?”

“Well, since I’m using it for publicity purposes. Naturally, the more prominent the better.” Ye Yan paused for a moment. He turned his head around and looked at Zhao Youlin. He smiled as he said, “Of course, the resort is Zhao Enterprise’s project. The best location naturally has to be reserved for your own company. The Ye Group only wants to claim a seat.”

Zhao Youlin narrowed her eyes. She did not refuse Ye Yan’s outrageous demand because she already knew that it was not going to be an easy feat to earn his money.

However, she was not stupid as to think that Ye Yan had really meant what he said regarding that his company casually wanted a seat for the advertising spot. In fact, Ye Yan had pointed out that the best advertising spot belonged to Zhao Enterprise while the second best should be his!

“President Ye, that’s very straightforward of you. Well, to say the least, this would be the first genuine cooperation between Zhao Enterprise and the Ye Group. You have come over and brought this out to me. That means you trust Zhao Enterprise. Therefore, I don’t want to be pretentious. I have decided to agree to this on my own initiative. I hope Zhao Enterprise and the Ye Group will have the opportunity to continue to cooperate in the future.”

Instead of kicking the dog when it was down, she might as well have made Ye Yan owed her a favor while he was about to rise so that she could set up a cornerstone for the future development between the two companies.

In private, Zhao Youlin was reluctant to have any dealings with this person even though they were communicating purely on business dealings. However, in public, she had to admit that he was a very good partner. He had the potential and was very capable.

Ye Yan did not feel offended by Zhao Youlin’s words. The corners of his lips slightly curled upward. He rose up once again and said, “I hope we have a pleasant cooperation.”

Looking at his outstretched hand toward her again, Zhao Youlin no longer felt hesitant as before. She stretched out her hand and shook his hand as she said, “I look forward to our great cooperation too.”

When they let go of their handshakes, Zhao Youlin looked up at Ye Yan and smiled. She spat out in a low voice, “President Ye, actually, if only you choose to cooperate with Zhao Enterprise in the beginning, you don’t have to go through so much trouble like now.”

In the end, Zhao Youlin still could not hold herself back but brought up the previous issue to stab Ye Yan.

After all, if not for Ye Yan refusing her suggestion and not giving up that piece of land from the Ye family, she would not have in turn asked from Mu Tingfeng for his land and they would not end up…

Why… couldn’t you trust my feelings for you?”

“Feelings?” Zhao Youlin furrowed her eyebrows. The next moment, she looked like she had heard the greatest joke on Earth, and let out a bark of laughter. “Feelings? Hahaha! President Ye, are you acting stupid, or are you really that stupid? How long have we known each other? We’ve only met each other several times before and yet, you came to me and told me that you had an unusual feeling for me to the point of even willing to die for me and pester me for the rest of my life? Do you really think that I would trust those words?”

“I…” Ye Yan opened his mouth and wanted to defend himself. However, he could not find it in himself to refute. A small voice in his heart kept reminding him that what Zhao Youlin had said was true.

Of course, Zhao Youlin did not plan to grant him the opportunity either.

“Anyway, all this is not the main point. Undeniably, some people do fall in love at first sight and stay perpetually ever since. However, that person certainly is not going to be you.”

“Why?” Ye Yan was startled once again. He could not understand why Zhao Youlin was so sure that he could never fall in love with her at first sight.

“Because of your eyes.” Zhao Youlin stared straight into Ye Yan’s eyes with a trace of chilliness that could read one’s mind. “President Ye, if you truly like someone, your eyes could never deceive the person. Perhaps, there are hints of admiration, obsession and covetousness from the way you look at me. However, there is no hint of warmth that will only show up when you truly like someone. In other words, President Ye, the way you look at me is somehow lacking emotions. All I could see is your trophy-like desire to seize a beloved toy when you see one.”
