Su He was still trapped in the lingering shock of the sudden fall. She snapped out of her trance when she heard Ye Yan’s words and said in embarrassment, “I’m fine. Could you please let go of me now?”

Ye Yan sized Su He up. When he was convinced that she was not hurt, only then did he carefully help her to sit down and reluctantly let go of her.

Su Jifeng looked past Su He and discreetly took a look at her room. He then smiled faintly. “I noticed that you didn’t eat anything today except breakfast. Therefore, I had the kitchen helper prepare a bowl of your favorite tremella lotus seed soup. You could have it before going to bed.”

Su He saw Su Jifeng holding a bowl of tremella lotus seed soup in his hand. She wanted to reach out for it, but Su Jifeng moved away from her.

“You are pregnant. It’s best for me to take it in for you.”

The smile on Su He’s face turned stiff. She smiled dryly and said, “N-No need. I’m not that frail.”

As Su He was saying this, she wanted to reach out for the bowl, but Su Jifeng moved away from her again.

Su Jifeng grinned as he looked at Su He. “Of course, I know you are not that frail. But I’d like to see you finish it myself. Or, perhaps, there’s something inside the room that I’m not supposed to see?”

“N-No!” Su He quickly refuted him. Right after she spoke, she realized that she had overreacted, which made her appear as if she was indeed hiding something in her room. She quickly added to rectify the situation. “I just feel… a little embarrassed.”

“What’s so embarrassing about it? It’s not like I have never been in your room before. Is there anything else that I have not seen before? Move aside and let me in..”
