“Mother…” Su He’s eyes turned red upon hearing Jiang Wenfang’s words.

“However, Xiao Qi, you’re at least four to five months pregnant, aren’t you? We really have to punish you for keeping your pregnancy a secret from me, your father, and grandfather for so long.”

When Su He and Su Jifeng heard Jiang Wenfang’s words, their hearts clenched once more. When Zhao Youlin saw this, she quickly seized the opportunity and cut in, “Aunt Wenfang, Xiao He is pregnant. Moreover, she was involved in an accident not long ago and nearly lost her child. As such, Xiao He’s health has suffered greatly, and she has yet to fully recover. “What? An accident?! What happened?! Xiao Qi was injured and almost lost her child?!” Jiang Wenfang’s face turned as white as sheets. As a woman, of course, she was well aware of the harm it caused to a woman who nearly suffered from a miscarriage.

Without giving it a second thought, she helped Su He up from the floor in a flurry of motion. She sized Su He up several times. Deep lines appeared between her eyebrows.

Su Liqiang and the former master of the Su family were quietly watching by the side. Their expressions had turned dark. Their eyes were like searchlights as they scanned Su He.

“Mother, I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me.” Su He was moved by Jiang Wenfang’s action. She shook her head as she comforted her.

Jiang Wenfang did not buy her words. She turned around and pointed at Su Jifeng with her finger. “Jifeng, tell me! I asked you to take care of your younger sister, and this is what happened? You almost lost your future nephew, and your sister even got hurt. Most importantly, you didn’t even inform us. What if something truly bad happens to Xiao Qi? We won’t even be able to see her one more time! Well, aren’t you just amazing?!”

Su Jifeng’s entire body shook. Under his mother’s icy gaze, he felt miserable.

“Mother, I know this is my fault. I did not do enough to protect Xiao Qi. But this…” Su Jifeng’s voice grew increasingly faint and in the end, he sounded like he was whispering, “But you can’t put all the blame on me. I’m not the main culprit who got Xiao Qi pregnant.”

A crisp sound rang out along with Jiang Wenfang’s complaint. “I told you not to curse. Are you deaf?! Did you turn a deaf ear to what I was saying?!”

Su Jifeng fell speechless.

The surrounding crowd was speechless.

Zhao Youlin thought to herself. ‘What a messy family!’

Everyone was stunned when Jiang Wenfang slapped Su Liqiang.

Just then, the former master who had remained silent all this while finally spoke up. He observed Su Jifeng, Zhao Youlin, and Mu Tingfeng with his cunning eyes. “Help Xiao Qi to the couch. Then, tell me what happened.”

Zhao Youlin and the rest of her group shuddered at his words. They exchanged glances with one another and noticed a trace of anxiety in their eyes. They were all aware that the moment the former master raised the issue, the main show was about to start, and they had no place to hide from him.

“Ahem… I believe it’s best to let Su Jifeng speak on the subject.” Once everyone was seated, Zhao Youlin shamelessly pushed the responsibility to Su Jifeng.

Originally, she thought that the reason Su He did not tell them about her pregnancy was due to fear and panic. However, when she saw Su He in her current state, apart from looking fearful and nervous, she noticed something she had not expected from Su He..
