Li Yan had stiffened due to the sudden closeness with Lu Shu. He had responsively wanted to push her away. However, he remembered her injured feet and so, his hand that had been stretched out was dangling in mid-air due to hesitation.

Lu Shu caught sight of Li Yan’s hesitation. She went for a mile and pressed her body flush against Li Yan’s. She leaned closer to his ears and spoke in a flirtatious yet aggrieved manner, “Brother Yan, my feet hurt. Could you please carry me?”

When the passers-by saw the two of them snuggled up on a crowded street as if nobody was around, they pointed fingers at them.

Li Yan looked troubled when he heard the people gossiping. However, he could not vent out his emotions on a young lady. So, he said awkwardly, “Let’s not do this in front of the public. You can loosen your grip, and I’ll carry you back.”

“Brother Yan, do you mean that you will do this as long as it’s not in front of the public?” Lu Shu’s eyes sparkled and looked at Li Yan happily.

Li Yan’s expression looked stiff. He did not want to linger on this topic with Lu Shu anymore. So, he decided to keep quiet and with a straight face, he helped Lu Shu walk forward step by step.

On the other hand, Lu Shu did not know how to restrain herself. Instead, she took the opportunity and placed most of her weight on Li Yan. The next moment, she smiled and said, “Brother Yan, shall we get married?”

Li Yan shuddered. He nearly wanted to push Lu Shu away and fling her off.

“We’ve only been together for less than a month, and we still don’t know each other very well. Don’t you think it’s a bit too rash? Why not…”

When Lu Shu saw Li Yan remaining silent, she got nervous. She looked away, bit her lips and said pitifully, “Brother Yan, I’m already pregnant with your child. If you really want to give up on us, I’ll lose my dignity to live on in this world… Sobs…”
