Chapter 116
A Farewell After Being Reborn
âHello? Earth to Sage. Please donât tell me youâre feeling sad again because you were thinking about
how Ian was panicking about another woman,â Tiana teased when she noticed Sage had spaced out.
Sage rolled her eyes at Tiana. âDo you seriously think a 5âstar hotel would have a random safety
hiccup?â
âLogically speaking, no,â Tiana answered. âDo you think thereâs something fishy about Ivy getting
injured?â
Of course, it was suspicious. But Ian mustâve looked into it. Ivy mustâve covered her tracks well if even
he couldnât find anything. Even if she tried to look into it, she would probably find nothing.
But even if she did find something, Ian would probably get the wrong idea and suspect her of scheming
again. He might assume she could not move on from him, which was why she was harping on the
issue.
Anyway, Ivy was the one in pain. This little scheme of hers would not affect Sage as long as she didnât
care about Ianâs opinion.
âLetâs not talk about this anymore. I have good news!â Sageâs tone lightened up a little.
âWhat is it?â
âIan has agreed to sign the divorce papers! As long as we can keep it under wraps from Grandma, we
can get our divorce certificate tomorrow!â
Tianaâs eyes widened. âHe agreed? Didnât he insist on getting both your parentsâ consent just a few
days ago? Whyâd he change his mind so quickly?â
Sage chuckled. âIâm sure he was just giving me a hard time. But with Ivy being injured so severely this
time, heâs probably afraid that Iâll do something worse if he keeps stalling.â
âHold on,â Tiana interjected. âIan thinks youâre behind Ivyâs injury? Is he out of his mind? Did he forget
what kind of person you are? youâre not one to beat around the bush. If you had a problem, youâd
confront it headâon!â
Sage was rendered speechless. âI canât tell if youâre complimenting me for being straightforward or
insulting me for being stupid.â
Ignoring her jest, Tiana pressed on. âIs that why youâre so set on divorcing him, Sage?â Sage sprawled
on the bed, flipping through a magazine that she found on the bedside table while kicking her feet in
the air. âThatâs one of the reasons. Itâs a long story, but basically, weâre just not a good fit. I donât want to
tie him down with marriage anymore. Itâs better for both of us this way.â â
The door swung open as soon as she said that. Sage whipped her head around and noticed Ian had
returned.
Even though she wasnât sure if he had heard her, his expression was much colder than before.â If looks
could kill, sheâd be dead right there and then.
âWhatâ Initially, she wanted to question him. But she stopped herself when she met his
gaze.
Ian didnât utter a word. He strode over to the bed and took his pillow, books, glasses, and other
belongings before storming out of the room again.
It all happened in a matter of seconds, and Sage didnât even have the time to react.
âWhatâs up with him?â Tiana seemed startled as well. âDid you guys get into a fight? He looked
terrifying,â she asked after Ian left.
Sage walked over and locked the door. âNope. He was acting all strange outside the restaurant earlier.
He was rude to my friends, and then he dragged me home. Heâs been snappish ever since. Forget it.
Have you seen the pictures I posted on Instagram?â
âNo, I havenât. Whatâs wrong?â Tiana said as she scrolled through her Instagram. âOh my gosh!â
âSo what do you think? Donât I look beautiful?â Sage tousled her hair smugly.
âWhoâs that hunk in your picture?â
âHuh?â Sage tapped on her profile and zoomed in on the picture. It was only then that she realized
Michael was also in the picture that Kai took.
