Chapter 136
A Farewell After Being Reborn
Two waiters walked into the room, each carrying a tray. The dishes were covered with lids to keep them
warm.
Terry watched them serve the dishes and said warmly, âI bet you guys are
starving, Professor Braun. Please dig in! These have been specially prepared for us, so I hope youâll
enjoy them.â
âWeâve served all your dishes. Please enjoy your meal.â The waiter then removed
the lids from the dishes.
Collin and his assistants looked at each other in surprise when they saw the â cucumber feastâ before
them. Terry was stunned as well. It took him a moment to realize that everything he had ordered had
been replaced with cucumbers.
Terry felt a wave of panic wash over him as he met his bossâ cold gaze. âWhatâs going on? I didnât order
these!â he asked the waiter.
The waiter claimed he had no idea what had happened and had simply been told to bring this to them.
He hastily brought the manager over.
Ianâs expression darkened when the manager said a woman who claimed to be his wife had gone into
the kitchen and changed their order.
Terry breathed a sigh of relief when he realized it was a prank pulled by his bossâ upset wife. He hadnât
made a mistake after all.
Terry apologized to Collin and his assistants before asking the manager to bring
them the dishes they had actually ordered.
Even though Collin and his assistants were surprised, they guessed that there must have been a
reason for the mixâup. Hence, they didnât blame Terry.
Ian excused himself and walked out into the main hall. His brows knitted
together when he spotted a familiar figure sitting in the corner.
Sage had her hair casually tied up in a loose bun, and she was gnawing on a rib with gusto. Beside her
sat Shane. Shane didnât have as much of an appetite as Sage and was largely absorbed in his phone.

Ianâs expression turned grim as he strode toward them. âWhy are the both of you here?â
Sage was inhaling her food when she heard a cold male voice. His familiar voice startled Sage so
much that the rib that she had been holding onto her plate. As it did so, a loud clattering sound pierced
the air.
Sage forgot all about her food when she noticed Ianâs stern expression. Then, glared at Shane fiercely.
She
So Ian had been his target. He had claimed he was looking into a new project and insisted on dragging
her along. He also insisted on having her go to the kitchen to change someone elseâs order. He had
used her to mess with Ian. She couldnât believe how childish he was!
Judging from her expression, Ian guessed what was going on. He shot a cold glance at Shane. âWhy
did you bring my wife here, Mr. Morrison?â
Shaneâs eyes widened. âThis place is open to the public. Weâre just here to eat. Is something the
matter?â
âSure,â Ian scoffed. âI guess you call changing all our dishes to cucumbers that, huh?â
Shane shamelessly continued, âI heard you were interested in Professor Braunâs latest research, Mr.
Holcomb. Since I couldnât get involved, I figured Iâd shake things up a bit for you!
âUnfortunately, Professor Braun is so wellâmannered. He wasnât even scared away by your cheap
meal,â he said regretfully.
âAlso, it was your wife who arranged for the dishes to be changed. So if youâve got a problem, please
take it up with her.â Shane shrugged off the blame without a care in the world.
