Chapter 220
A Farewell After Being Reborn
âI queued for ages to get those prawns! Why should I let them have it?â Tiana said as got ready to walk
over and bring the food over.
Sage stopped Tiana. âThatâs enough. Donât do such childish things.â
âHowâs that childish? If she wants something to eat, she can go get her own food. Why does she get to
enjoy the fruits of our labor?â
Sage found her comment amusing. After all, that phrase hit home. In her previous life, Ivy did not have
any conflicts with her. She effortlessly replaced her and became Ianâs wife because of his feelings for
Ivy. One could say she got it all handed to her on a silver platter.
âWould you like to have those, Ms. Ford? Iâll go get them for you!â Calvin volunteered enthusiastically.
Tiana had no choice but to give up on snatching the food back. âThank you.â
âDonât mention it. Itâs no trouble at all.â
âSage, no wonder you used to be so bothered by her presence. Sheâs very annoying,â Tiana said after
Calvin left.
âIsnât this your first time meeting her? Howâre you already so repulsed by her?â Sage inquired with
amusement.
Tiana responded, âThe thing is⦠sheâs too good at playing the game. Sheâs clearly doing things that
make people uncomfortable. Yet, she manages to make men feel like sheâs the victim whoâs forgiving
and all.â
Sage agreed with that wholeheartedly. Ivy was the kind of person who could stay calm and collected
when she faced challenges and make everyone think that she was dignified and magnanimous.
âYou were outstanding just now! You didnât even flinch when Ivy came to find Ian. You even stopped me
from starting a fight!â Tiana teased, âThe old you wouldâve flipped the table if you saw Ivy dining
together with Ian.
âI probably wouldnât have allowed them to get to that point,â Sage brooded. Sage had a feeling that the
old her wouldâve driven Ivy away as soon as she showed up.
âEnough about Ivy. She can do whatever she wants. After all, it has nothing to do with me. Did Wilson
explain why he didnât greet you yesterday after you got home?â
Tiana shook her head. âHeâs so busy every day⦠Thereâs no way heâd remember such a small thing.
Itâs just like I said, there were too many people around, and he would have inconvenienced everyone if
he stopped in his tracks.â
âTiana, youâre sharp as a tack. Why canât you see that thereâs a problem with the way you and your
husband interact?â Åage asked.
âWhatâs the problem?â Tiana smiled contentedly. âI know we arenât as loveyâdovey as other couples,
but heâs just like that. He doesnât care much about things outside of work. Otherwise, I wouldnât have
been able to nab a highâvalue man like him.â
Sage was rendered speechless. People who were blinded by love sure did have their unique way of
looking at things. She didnât want to push Tiana any further since she seemed content. âLook at you, all
free to worry about my affairs now,â Tiana teased. âBy the way, thanks for reminding me to get a gold
bracelet for my motherâinâlaw last time.
âWhen I accompanied her to visit our relatives the other day, someone complimented the braceletâs
quality and said it fit her very well. She was so pleased that she gave me a gold necklace when we got
home!â However, she still nagged her to have a baby after that.
In her previous life, Tianaâs motherâinâlaw did not treat her well, let alone give her jewelry. In this life,
Wilsonâs first love didnât get transferred to his hospital, and his parents werenât giving Tiana such a hard
time, which was a good change. Sage felt slightly relieved.
After Calvin brought over some more food, the three of them had a good time eating and chatting. The
time flew by, and Ian and Ivy were nowhere to be seen. As they were finishing up, Calvinâs phone
pinged.
âIan sent me a message saying that he needed to handle some paperwork, so he went back to his
room.â
Then, he said, âMrs. Holcomb, Ms. Ford, I have to head back to prepare for dinner with my father now.
Letâs hang out together next time.â
