Y/N

It was Friday which tonight was the booster meeting I haven't really spoke to Spencer like that and it wasn't because I was trying to avoid him it was like I was nervous when I got around him and I just couldn't talk to him, my mind goes blank and I think about homecoming night. I honestly needed to stop because he was such a good friend and a good guy.

I sprayed some perfume on my body as I just looked at my outfit in the mirror for the booster meeting. Apparently you had to dress formal for these events so that exactly what serenity, my mother, Storm and I did.

"You ready?" I heard serenity question as I turned around and she finished placing earrings in her ears. "You look so pretty" she said as I faintly smiled. "What's wrong?" She asked as I just shook my head. "Nothing I'm fine" I lied as she smiled at me. "Here your mother said put these on" she said handing me a velvet box as I opened it seeing a pair of earrings.

I just placed them in my ears then fixed my curl some before grabbing my clutch and placing my phone into it. We all packed into my mothers SUV. We soon made it to the venue of where they hold their booster meetings at and all got out.

I held the bottom of my dress walking into the venue then once we made it in I let go of the hem of my dress. I look to my side seeing Spencer and Uncle billy talking.

Jordan came up to us holding his arm out for serenity as we just smiled at each other and she walked off with him. "What's up with that?" Storm asked. "Girl I think it's turning into a thing" I said as she just laughed. "I'm going to go with mom and probably sneak some snacks" she said before running off as I smiled.

Olivia finally came up to me as we smiled at each other "you look gorgeous" I said as we kissed each other's cheek. We then pulled away as I seen Chris come up behind her as we greeted each other. Uncle billy finally looked over at me and smiled.

"You're clearly the gorgeous one" Olivia said as I seen Spencer smile at me. I looked at Olivia as she smiled "it's either you go over there or he makes his way over here" she said before she nodded her head towards them as I smoothed out my dress first before meeting my uncle half way.

"You look beautiful" he complimented before kissing my cheek as I smiled. "So what do I do?" I asked "just smile and if they ask any questions as far as you concerning answer them everything else is left up to me and Ms. Nala" he instructed as I nodded "where's your big headed mother at?" He asked as I giggled "somewhere talking" I answered "Oh God" he expressed walking off as I just let out a small laugh about to walk up to Spencer but then Layla easily interrupted that by gaining his attention.

I just turned the other way going to find my sister and see what she was up to.

Spencer

I looked over and seen Y/N in a skin tight dress that hugged all her curves.

I looked at her hair as it was curled and in an updo style.

I just smiled at her as she smiled at me. Coach made his way towards her as I just waited for them to speak before I intervened. I felt my phone vibrate as I looked down seeing it was Layla trying to call me I just ignored it. I looked back up to see Y/N smile at her uncle as he walked off.

I started heading towards her as I heard Layla call my name "Spencer" she said as I turned. "Layla I'm done" I started off trying to move around. "Spencer can we just talk?" She asked. "Layla there's Nothing to talk about" I said as she was about to cry. "Layla don't do this here" I said. "Spencer please?" She pleaded. "Later, right now I have to deal with what I came to this booster meeting for" I said before walking away as I left her there.

I greeted the guests that were here as I seen Y/N talking to a woman. I then noticed Jordan laughing with serenity. I walked towards them complimenting Serenity. "Thanks. Whatever you do please don't take Y/N's weirdness as her avoiding you" she started off as I chuckled. "Trust me she'll come around when she's ready." I assured. "I'm going to get another drink" serenity said to Jordan as they smiled at each other and she walked off.

"I don't think she likes me" Jordan admitted as I laughed. "Who serenity?" I questioned. "Yeah I don't think she's feeling me." He added.

"Yeah you right, she's not feeling you" I said sarcastically as he just chuckled and shook his head. "Ah the golden girl off the hour" Jordan said looking past me as I turned some and Y/N walked up to me. "I feel like shit I need a pop tart or something" She said as Jordan and I chuckled.

A woman then came up up to her "Y/N Y/L/N?" The woman said as Y/N just smiled "yes that's me" She said as they shook hands. "Your dance videos are amazing!" she expressed. "And the Beverly's star defensive back and running back, Spencer James" a man said coming behind the woman as I shook his hand.

"You two are all I hear about Beverly now" the man said as

Y/N and I just smiled. "Are you two together?" The woman asked as Y/N and I just shared a nervous laugh. "We're just friends" Y/N assured. "Oh you two would make a lovely couple" the man said as Y/N and I just laughed it off. "No we're just friends" Y/N stated. "You two could've been a power couple like Jay Z and Beyoncé of the school" The lady said as Y/N and I just let out a small laugh as Jordan shook his head trying not to laugh.

Jordan looked away "well I'm excited for the new dance team coming to Beverly, it can spice up the school some" the man expressed as I just widened my eyes some before placing on a smile. We said our goodbyes to the couple as they walked off sums I watched them walk off.

"It's because we're black it got to be" I said to Y/N and Jordan. "White people just be saying any fucking thing" Y/N added as we just laughed. "No offense Jordan" Y/N said as Jordan laughed.  "She could've at least said Ciara and Russell Wilson, that would've made more sense" Y/N said looking over at me as we shared a laugh.

"Jordan can you help me with something real quick" we heard serenity say sweetly as he nodded and she grabbed his hand walking away. "That was definitely a cue to go fuck." I brought up. "Right" she agreed as we shared a laugh. "You want to go somewhere and talk?" I asked looking her up and down as she smiled. "I should probably not do that because Layla is here and I'm not sure what you two got going on" she brought up as I chuckled.

"Well if you'd let me talk to you, you'll probably find out that nothing is going on between us" I said as we faced each other. "So are we going to talk?" I asked as she tucked her lips in showing her dimples as it soon turned into a smile. I smiled and linked our arms together. We walked down a dimmed, quiet hall slowly. "So what's up with you?" I started off then looked her up and down. "You look good" I complimented as she smiled and looked at the ceiling. "You do too" she said finally looking over at me.

"I see you didn't need help with your tie" she said looking between my tie and I. "I think it's a little loose" I lied as she laughed. "I'm not fixing your tie" she simply said as I smiled grabbing her hand as we stopped and faced each other.

"You're back avoiding me" I brought up as she just smiled.

"What are you talking about?" She asked as I placed my hands on her hips. "You know exactly what I'm talking about" I whispered as she smiled and looked down.

"I'm sorry, you're a good guy and I don't want you to think I'm just avoiding you when that's not the case" she started off all while looking down. I just lifted her chin up as she looked at me. "I'm right here" I said as she smiled and tried to look down but I chuckled. "It's a habit" she said before looking back at me. "I enjoyed homecoming night with you a lot but I think that everything that happened was maybe in the moment" she said as I faintly smiled then looked down.

"So you want to just leave it as it was in the moment?" I asked "y-yeah" she admitted as I gave her a smile. I then kissed her head as we shared a hug. She held onto me tightly as I did the same. We finally decided to pull away as I watched Y/N quickly wipe a tear that was falling from her eyes as we pulled out of our hug. "Let me go. I'll talk to you later" she said with a fake smile as I placed on a smile.

"Okay" I said as she started to walk off but I called her name "Y/N" I called out as she turned some. "If you need anything I got you" I assured as she smiled. "I got you too Spence" she said as we shared a smile and she turned back around walking off.
