We were in Atlanta walking around Bringston as Spencer stopped us from walking. "Hold up" he started off "is that cordae?" He asking looking back at us.
"It's looks like it" Jordan said as we seen cordae performing on the stage in the distance. "Hey auntie" serenity expressed running up to her aunt as I just smiled. "Hey baby" her aunt said while hugging her.
Her aunt then smiled at us "hey Y/N" she said before we hugged each other. "Hey Miss. Amara" I said as we pulled away and she smiled at jordan and Spencer.
"Spencer James" Miss Amara said holding her hand out . "Ma'am" he said beginning to shake her hand. "I've heard so much you. Hell about you two" Miss Amara said before shaking hands with Jordan.
"Thank you for having us here we appreciate this opportunity" Jordan said as we all agreed. "The pleasure is all mine. Homecoming is the perfect time of the year to visit an HBCU and take part in the college experience" Miss Amara said.
"This is Tiana she'll be showing you guys around on campus" Miss Amara introduced the girl that was next to her.
She smiled at us all whole slightly looking Spencer up and down. I immediately looked at serenity as she looked at me. "Tiana Y/N's a dancer and a singer" Miss. Amara added with a big smile. "A singer?" I questioned then looked at jordan, Spencer and serenity. "If you mean drunk karaoke then yes that's your girl" jordan dissed as I just pinched his arm making him jump. "Ouch" he groaned as I smiled. "You dance too, right serenity?" Tiana asked. "Just a little bit she's your dancer out of all of us" Serenity said referring to me.
"That's great I need you ladies to come with me" Tiana said grabbing Serenity and I's hands. "Wait" Serenity started off as we were getting dragged away. I looked back at Spencer as he just chuckled watching me dragged away. "There's this fashion show I think you two would be perfect for." Tiana informed. "Lord please don't tell me it's something we might get in trouble for" I started off "um you're damn there a college student now" Tiana said as we started going into the fine arts department.
"Nathaniel has been looking for models and dancers for his fashion show tonight." Tiana explained to us "And you think our short asses is built for that?" Serenity joked. "Girl representation matters besides this fashion show is about to be lit" Tiana expressed before we walked into a huge room with women and gay men dressed up everywhere and they looked really good.
I then seen a guy walking around with a black jump suit that had diamonds all over it. "Oh that's cute!" I expressed eyeing it as the guy spoke up "you're Y/M/N, the fashion designers daughter" he said excitedly. "You're Y/N!" He expressed with a big smile coming over to me as I smiled. "You danced for Beyoncé" he added as i laughed "Yeah" I admitted. "Girl I'm like a big fan of you and your mother" he explained. "Thanks but you don't have to be excited I'm just here to get the HBCU experience." I assured.
"But this outfit though" I started off looking at it. "Yeah there was a girl supposed to wear this and do a singing piece for the fashion show to end off the show but she doesn't want to be apart of it" he started off "she doesn't think any of these outfits and the whole set up is going to give her any "clout"" he explained as I shook my head. "That's how a lot of people out here in Atlanta think" he said.
"Trust me it's just our generation" I assured "but I didn't catch your name" I said with a warm smile as he smiled. "It's Nathaniel" he informed. "I know you can dance, but by any chance can you sing?" He asked. "Anything you need to help you with your fashion show" I assured "oh sis we're going to be good friends" he assured making me laugh.
"What's the song?" I questioned "you know that song "feeling good" by Nina Simone?" He questioned walking me out of the room we were in as he opened the door to their music and engineering room where it was nothing but endless supplies to help make music. "Yeah" I admitted as he greeted a group of women and introduced me to them. "This is Keisha and Nakeisha they're over the music for tonight" he said as I did a small wave and smiled.
"You want to get in the booth and try to fit everything to your liking before tonight?" Keisha asked with a smile as I nodded. "Anything that you like or anything you want to change you can" Nakeisha assured walking me into the booth getting me situated. I placed the headphones on my ears listening to what was the original beat with of course some more beats from Keisha and Nakeisha.
I just nodded my head figuring out what I could do. "Okay so since we're doing a sultry beat, in the beginning just let me sing up until "and I'm feeling good" then drop the beat after" I instructed as they nodded and I placed my headphones back on correctly.
"Birds flying high, you know how I feel" I started off singing "sun in the sky , you know how I feel. Breeze driftin on by you know how I feel" I sung. "It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life" I added then paused.
"And I'm feeling good" I sung beginning to hear the beat drop right after that. The music then paused "oh girl we're getting this down by tonight!" Keisha said excitedly. "I know that's right!" Nathaniel said. "I'll leave you too this girl" he said then gave me a thumbs up before leaving out of the studio as I started working with Keisha and Nakeisha.
Spencer
Jordan and I were at lunch and waiting for the girls serenity finally came up to us. "Why do you look like you about to die?!" I asked about to laugh as she was breathing hard and sitting at the table next to Jordan. "I've never realized how out of Damn shape I was until now" she admitted as I chuckled. "What are you doing?" Jordan assured. "Dancing for Nathaniel's fashion show" She informed. "Where's Y/N?" I asked.
"I'm here, I'm here" I heard her say as she had a salad and a waterborne in her hand. "We're in the state of soul food and your ass brought a salad?" I jokingly asked as she sat down. "Well after the show I plan on eating eating but right now I have to keep it light so I don't be like serenity" She joked as serenity placed her middle finger up. "What they got you doing?" I asked looking over at Y/N. "It's a secret" she whisper placing her finger over her lips as I chuckled and she smiled staring to eat her food.
"Anybody thinking about making this their college?" Jordan asked. "They're not big on football here so nah" I admitted. "They have this tennis program" Serenity started off "You play tennis?!" Jordan and I asked in a union "yeah" she admitted with a small laugh. "You two are late" Y/N said as I mimicked her playfully and threw a straw wrapper at her as she laughed.
"That's dope" I admitted. "I know but if I don't get this out of shape shit together we ain't playing anything" Serenity said.
"Oh I can get you in shape" Jordan said with a smirk. I just shook my head because he wasn't implying actually training her but instead having sex. "Oh yeah that'll be a smart idea Have Jordan train you" Y/N agreed clearly not catching on.
"We can start right now" Jordan assured. "Yeah go do that so I can stop hearing this conversation" I said making jordan chuckle. "If you wanted some alone time with Y/N that's all you had to say" Jordan expressed standing up as serenity went with him.
"You do know he's talking about sex right?" I asked Y/N as she looked at me crazy. "Sex is technically a workout" I added as she just shook her head and chuckled "And I'm sitting there telling her it's a good idea" she said as I chuckled. "I think you just encouraged another pregnancy" I joked as she laughed. "Please don't say that" she said placing her hand over her face as I chuckled.
"So What's the secret?" I asked as she faintly smiled "I'm performing tonight at the fashion show" she admitted making me smile. "Dancing?" I asked "singing" she answered. "You're not excited?!" I asked excitedly as she laughed. "No because of I think about getting excited I can possibly throw myself off so I'm trying to stay calm" she admitted as I smiled. "Besides it's not all that special I'm trying to just help Nathaniel out" She said with a small shrug.
"Nathaniel?" I questioned "Spence he's gay" She assured as we shared a laugh. "It's special" I assured "and honestly you're special that's what makes this whole experience special" I admitted.
She just smiled and looked down causing me to smile. "I mean the last time I heard you actually sing was the song you gave me when I was in the hospital so this is special" I added as she smiled.
