Chapter 184
Reborn of Kate by Isla Rainfield
Chapter 184 Why?
The atmosphere in the ward shifted, growing tense.
Kateâs mind wandered off, and a sudden blush crept up on her cheeks. She started to stutter, backing away from Ericâs bed, muttering, âUm, I, I gotta use the restroom!â
After that, she turned and quickly left.
Eric watched her go, a smirk playing on his lips.
It was apparent that the VIP ward had its own bathroom.
Kate was such a terrible liar.
Once outside, Kate headed to the bathroom, splashed her face with water, and took a deep breath to steady herself.
Kate, get a grip!
So what if they had shared a kiss and some flirty banter? They were married. After all, wasnât this supposed to be expected?
Just let it go.
Eventually, Kate managed to calm her racing heart, the blush on her face fading. After self- reflection in the mirror, she finally left the bathroom.
âMadam!â
Just as she left, Kate heard a cry tearing at her heart.
That voice sounded like it was calling out to her.
Casually, Kate turned her head and saw a woman in a headscarf quickly approaching her.
The two bodyguards didnât waste a moment, stepping in front of the woman, each taking hold of an arm and questioning her identity with a sense of urgency.
âWho are you?â they demanded, one with an intense voice, while the other didnât hesitate to remove her headscarf.
Kate gave a cool look to the woman hurrying over to her. Noticing the familiar face, she raised her eyebrows and said, âHolly?â
She then narrowed her eyes at the woman, putting on a show of surprise, âOh, whatâs with your face? It looks like itâs taken quite a beating, right?â
The middleâaged woman the bodyguard stopped was, in fact, Holly.

handprints, and soiled clothes.
âMadam, please help me!â
Finished
Holly was on the verge of kneeling before Kate amidst loud sobs, capturing the attention of everyone around.
The onlookers were curious about the scene between Hollyâs tears and Kateâs puzzled look.
Kateâs demeanour quickly turned iceâcold as she sharply exclaimed, âShut up! Is this a place to cry? If youâre going to cry, do it at the funeral parlour, not the hospital!â
Taken aback, Hollyâs crying tapered off for a moment. She attempted to get past the bodyguard to reach Kate but was unsuccessful. Instead, she fixed Kate with a gaze full of desperation and sobbed, âMadam, Iâm begging you, could you please help?â
Kate regarded her coldly and retorted, âWhy should I bother?â
Feeling defeated, Holly struggled to say, âMadam, Iâve been loyal to you for three years. Could you consider lending me seventyâfive thousand dollars, just for old timesâ sake?â
Her pleas grew more desperate, âIâm at the end of my tether here!â
Kateâs expression was one of sheer disgust. âSo, youâre desperate, and you expect me to help? Do you think money grows on trees?â
In fear, Holly kneeled, bowing deeply before Kate. âMadam, Iâm out of options. Please, remember the good times and help?â
âRuthâs still locked up, and I canât get ahold of Simon. Youâre my only hope, Madam!â
âTheyâre threatening to sue and take everything I own if I donât pay up by the end of this week. Iâll be left with nothing,â she sobbed.
