When Eric let out those harsh words, Kate’s face just dropped. She grabbed his arm to make him. see how sorry she was. “Eric, I messed up big time. Can you forgive me? I swear it won’t happen. again.”

“Promise to keep me in the loop if anything else

pops up?”

Eric’s stern facade softened briefly when he saw Kate looking so upset, but he quickly got over it.

He looked at her, all serious, and said after a bit, “So, you setting up this date was actually just to distract me and give the traitor at Summer Estate a chance to do their thing?”

There was a mix of disappointment and anger in his voice. Once he said his piece, he just stared at Kate, trying to figure her out, and you could tell he was a bit hurt.

Kate was totally caught off guard by what Eric said. She burst out laughing after a moment.

Her laughter was so cheerful that it was contagious and filled the room as she struggled to contain it.

But watching her laugh like that only made Eric more upset.

He called her by her full name, putting a ton of emphasis on it, and his eyes were practically shooting daggers.

Kate stopped laughing pretty quickly, though she still had a smile on her face. She snuggled up to Eric and kissed him, still keeping it light. “Is Eric mad over this?”

She thought Eric was mad because she had a plan and didn’t tell him, but this was the real issue.

She kept kissing Eric and then looked him seriously in the eyes and said, “I’m here because I want to be with you, not to help them out.”

“You will be eternally enshrined within

my heart.”

After saying that, she kissed him again.

Eric just looked at her. Hearing those words, it was like his heart melted right away.

Suddenly, he could feel his heart beating again, filled with this warmth he hadn’t felt in a while.

The idea that she wanted to be with him made Eric’s heart skip a beat, and he even blushed a little.

Kate noticed Eric seemed tense and teased him, “Jealous?”

Eric didn’t say anything; he just kissed her deeply, and she immediately relaxed into his arms.

“Ah…”

It was good that Kate had almost finished eating when the phone interrupted them. Otherwise, given how serious Eric was, if she had rushed to the factory without eating, who knows how long everyone else would have been left waiting.

After a while, Eric let go of Kate but still had that serious look, making it clear, “This can’t happen again.”

Kate gave him a cheeky grin and acted innocent. “So, are dates off–limits now?”

Eric just gave her this look, clearly not amused, but his eyes had so many emotions.

But Kate quickly clarified, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. There’ll be plenty of dates, I promise!”

She managed to calm Eric down again, and they both headed out.

George and the crew watched them leave. Kate saw them, and once they were all done eating, she was all business. “Let’s head to the factory.”

George looked confused, unsure what Kate was planning or which factory she was talking about.

“It’s the factory where Kate has a partnership. There’s a spy we caught at Summer Estate,” Eric said, all calm.

Once George looked even more shocked, Eric gave him more details, and George quickly got on board and said, “Got it!”
