“Are you unharmed?”

In a twilight–lit chamber, Kate, unmindful of Lana still seated on the ground, turned to Abigail, her heart not anticipating Abigail’s swift response as she shielded Kate from Lana’s flung soup, leaving her arm branded by a crimson mark of distress.

The tumult in the chamber had summoned the supervisor, whose countenance paled at Lana’s eruption.
