Chapter 271
Reborn of Kate by Isla Rainfield
Chapter 271 Arrogant?
Krusadaâs car yard occupied a large area, with grand and imposing architecture, just as the driver described it. It was a gathering place for racing enthusiasts, and there was even a dedicated race track inside.
They were still outside the gate when they saw several racing cars speeding on the grounds inside, their engines roaring nonâstop.
âLetâs go inside and take a look.â
Kate spoke decisively, then Hendrick and George got out of the car with her. Two bodyguards followed closely behind as all five entered the car yard. Kateâs gaze remained fixed on a red sports car not far
away.
âWhat are you here for? Looking for someone? Watching the race? Placing bets? Or participating?â
As they stepped inside, they were stopped by the car yard security. The security guard who was burly and round, and spoke fluent Maridonia language, eyeing Kate and her companions up and down.
The driver glanced at Kate and translated for her, âHeâs sayingâ¦
Before the driver could finish, Kate responded in fluent Maridonia language, âWeâre here to find someone. Is the owner of the red sports car here in the car yard?â
The security guard looked at her and replied, âAre you also fans of Ace Lin? Ace Lin just finished a race and is resting in the midfield now. But he has another race in the afternoon. You can come back then to watch. If you want to place bets, thatâs over there.
Kate was taken aback. âAce Lin?â
Seeing her bewildered expression, the security guard eyed her suspiciously, instantly on alert. âWhatâs going on? Youâre not Ace Linâs fan? Then why are you looking for him? His enemies?â
âNo, no. The driver hurriedly interjected, waving his hands. âWe are fans of Ace Lin. We came to watch the race. Is the betting area this way?â
The security guard looked at them skeptically again before coldly replying, âYeah.â
The driver whispered to Kate, âMadam, weâre new here. Letâs not attract attention to the car yard. Itâs a mix of all sorts, not just racing enthusiastsâ¦â
Kate glanced deeply at the red sports car and said calmly. âLetâs go then, to see this soâcalled betting place.â
After all, this was Krusadaâs car yard, not something youâd find back in Haldoria.
they walked along, Kate noticed a variety of peopleâsome here to modify their race cars, others to watch the races, and some for the same purpose as them: betting.
Inside the lobby, large screens displayed race information. Many people gathered around, chatting in small groups.

âThis morning. Ace Linâs performance was impressiveâsmooth and stylish. But this afternoon, heâll be up against Hurricane, a topânotch international racer. I think Ace Lin might lose.â
âPfft! Just because heâs won a few races, he calls himself Ace Lin? Heâs just some unknown racer from Haldoria. Does he really think he can challenge Hurricane?â
âThese Haldoria folks are too cocky. I heard this guy and Hurricane is hyping up their race. Coming to Krusada and daring to provoke HurricaneâHaldoria folks really donât know whatâs good for them.â
âThe people of Haldoria are all useless! Hahaha!â
The murmurs of the crowd reached Kate and her groupâs ears.
Kate frowned, Hendrickâs face darkened, Georgeâs eyes turned icy, and even the driverâs expression grew cold as he stared intently at the group discussing on the other side.
Those people spoke in the local language of Krusada, but the driver, having spent many years there, naturally understood every word.
He was about to say something when he saw Kate suddenly step forward, her expression chillingly determined. Without hesitation, she spoke in fluent Krusadaâs local language. âYou who only gossip and talk behind othersâ backs, what kind of people are you?â
After Kate uttered these words, the laughter and mocking remarks from those gathered together, ridiculing Haldoria, abruptly ceased. Their smiles disappeared, replaced by displeasure as they all turned their gaze towards Kate.
