Buzz!
"Let go of me...!"
"Absolutely not...!"
Chris's grip on the wheelchair's leg frame left me unable to move forward.
Her strength was incredible. She did mention working out regularly at her company gym, and her well-toned figure was proof enough. While I hadnât gotten a good look at her abs beneath her occasionally rolled-up shirt, it was clear she had a taut, muscular core.
It made senseâthis was the same Chris who could easily lift me without breaking a sweat. Just now, she wasnât even trying to push me back; she was merely holding her ground.
I was so closeâjust a few more steps and I could slip into the capsule. Once inside, no external interference, save for emergency disconnect protocols, could affect me. Even Chris wouldnât risk forcing a disconnect, knowing the potential for brain shock.
Yet, here I was, completely unable to get my way.
The frailty of Isulbiâs body felt like a curse.
Why am I so weak in this world?
Tears threatened to well up.
After what felt like an eternity of struggle, I gave up and disengaged the wheelchairâs motor.@@novelbin@@
Wobble.
"Ah!"
Without the motor holding it steady, the wheelchair tipped backward from Chrisâs pulling force.
I closed my eyes tightly, bracing for the inevitable crash.
Thud! Poof.
Instead of hitting the floor, I found myself caught securely in Chrisâs arms. Only the wheelchair tumbled over, lying sprawled out on the floor.
