Chapter 171
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 171
With only family members present, Cynthia knew that the purpose of that night had finally arrived. Old
Man Neal, Felix, and Daphne were likely to persuade her to postpone the divorce.
âCynthia, have a seat,â Daphne greeted her with gentleness and elegance, showing that she genuinely
liked Cynthia.
Cynthia walked over and took a seat.
Then, Old Man Neal and Daphne began their discussion.
Felix, as before, sat on the side reading a newspaper while Joshua stood there like an unwanted
orphan with no one to care for him.
âWhat are you doing?â Old Man Neal grew angry when he saw Joshua sitting beside him. âIs this where
youâre supposed to sit? Go over there!â
Joshua was annoyed but did not complain and moved to the other side.
Unexpectedly, he also faced disdain from the other side.
âCynthia and I donât want to be near you. Keep your distance.â
Joshua could tell they disapproved of him because of the impending divorce from Cynthia. Without
saying much, he conscientiously moved to sit next to Felix, finally avoiding being driven away.
âStill havenât managed to change Cynthiaâs mind?â Felix asked casually, enjoying himself as he held
the newspaper, adopting the demeanor of a spectator.
Joshua did not answer him.
They were so annoying.
âDid you pay a visit to Cynthiaâs family?â
âNo.â
Upon hearing that, Felix finally showed some emotional response. He set aside the newspaper and
glanced at Joshua. âJoshua, youâre not very efficient in handling things, are you?â
âYouâre saying as if you were pretty quick when pursuing my mom.â Joshua was straightforward.
âThe speed doesnât matter; what matters is that I succeeded in pursuing her.â Felix picked up the
newspaper again, no longer concerned with Joshuaâs affairs. âIf you still plan to be with Jayleen, youâll
never have a chance to win Cynthia back in this lifetime.â
Joshua felt that Felix was meddling too much in his affairs and retorted, âIf you have so much free time,
go manage the company.â
I want to spend time with my wife,â Felix countered.
Joshua glanced at him and asked, âYouâve been flaunting your affection for twenty-two years. Arenât
you
tired of it?â
Since Felix managed to win over Daphne when Joshua was five years old, he has openly displayed
affection for her in all situations. The phrase âmy wifeâ had almost become his catchphrase.
Felix smiled with satisfaction. âThose without a spouse wouldnât understand.â
âI have one.â
âOh? Is it Cynthia, the woman youâre divorcing soon?â
Joshua did not answer him.
âOr is it your soon-to-be wife, Jayleen?â
Joshua kept quiet. He had never wanted to silence Felixâs mouth more than at that moment.
He should not have helped Felix win over Daphne in the first place. Instead, he should have found
more rivals for him and made him jealous.
âThereâs no need to reminisce about the past.â Felix saw through what Joshua was thinking with just
one glance. âRegardless of whether you helped me pursue your mom or not, I would have won her
over.â
âAnyone can brag.â
âDo you know why?â
Joshua did not reply. He did not want to know.
âBecause your mom has always loved me. I was her unforgettable first love. Though I misunderstood
her, Iâve never had another woman by my side apart from her.â Felix, for once, had a serious
conversation with him.
âAnd Iâve never broken up or divorced h
