Chapter 230
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 230
Just as Cynthia left, Jonathan arrived. He searched the company but could not find Cynthia, so he went
to Kendrick instead.
âHave you seen Cyn?â Jonathan asked.
âShe just left,â Kendrick replied.
âShe left?â Jonathan furrowed his brow. âDidnât you ask her to stay for lunch?â
He had instructed his secretary to order food when he left just now, all of it was Cynthiaâs favorite.
Why did she leave?
âShe had something urgent to attend to. Itâs probably best not to casually bring people into the
company. Some people may not say it, but they can still harbor some resentment,â Kendrick said,
hinting subtly.
With just a simple sentence, Jonathan understood that Cynthia was still angry with him!
Cynthia had already put the matter out of her mind. After leaving the Yates Group, she got into the car
where Moe had been waiting for over two hours.
Then, Moe drove toward the restaurant,
He had already pre-ordered lunch, including all of Cynthiaâs favorite dishes. He knew she was not picky
but also knew what she loved to eat.
As soon as they arrived at the restaurant, Cynthia received a WhatsApp message from Jonathan.
[Old Man Yates: Letâs have dinner together tonight?]
Cynthia did not respond.
After all, she had slapped Michelleâs face at the company, and she would definitely complain and cry to
Mandy when she got home.
Cynthia did not know what kind of person Mandy was and did not want to make any unfounded
speculations. Hence, declining this dinner was the best outcome.
The two of them were eating their meal when Cynthia heard a voice halfway through.
It was a voice she did not like.
âHe fired me because of a woman. You have no idea how embarrassed I was. That woman told the
entire planning department that I wouldnât be allowed into the Yates Group anymore.â Michelle was on
the phone. She was not too loud but loud enough for Cynthia to hear.
âI didnât cause a scene. Itâs not my fault!â
âI told you it was that woman stirring up trouble. Iâve always been a good employee, but today, out of
the blue, they fired me.â
âI donât want to talk to you anymore. Everything is always my fault. You keep defending him. Letâs see
how composed youâll be when he doesnât want you anymore because of that woman.â Michelle was
very dissatisfied with the person on the other end of the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Michelle huffed and took a seat. There was a man sitting beside her.
Seeing her angry expression and annoyance after hanging up the phone, he softly and soothingly said,
Didnât I tell you to talk to your mother nicely?â
âUncle Thomas, you saw it too. I told her, but she just wouldnât listen.â Michelle was extremely
displeased. âShe must think I did something to offend Uncle Yates. I donât even know what kind of spell
Uncle Yates has put on her!â
âAlright, donât be angry. I talk to your mother when I have the time,â the man comforted her.
With a simple sentence, Cynthiaâs attention was captured.
Uncle Thomas?
She turned to look and happened to see Michelle with a man.
