Chapter 253
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 253
Joshua stood up and walked away, feeling the pent-up anger inside him surging up.
He had clearly done what Moses had instructed, but Cynthia still remained stubborn and unyielding.
Cynthia followed him out.
Jonathan and Shirley were waiting downstairs, afraid that there would be conflicts or fights between the
two.
They waited and waited.
After a while, they finally heard voices coming from the stairs.
Both of them looked over, and it seemed like Joshua had an even colder demeanor than before. They
immediately guessed that he and Cynthia had reached a deadlock in their conversation.
âMr. Yates.â Joshua stopped in the living room.
Jonathan instinctively looked at him, ready to respond, but then remembered that he was no longer his
father-in-law due to the divorce, so he pretended not to hear.
After all, he was not Joshuaâs father-in-law anymore, and there was no reason to be so courteous with
him.
Joshua raised an eyebrow, instantly seeing through his thoughts.
He did not mind and just stood there, uttering, âI arrived in the Nexuria and havenât found a place to
stay. I wonder if itâs convenient for me to stay here for a night?â
Jonathan, Shirley, and Cynthia were stunned by Joshuaâs audacity.
âCyn and Shirley are both young ladies. Itâs not convenient to have a stranger staying overnight. Mr.
Neal, you should find your own accommodation,â Jonathan said, no longer composed.
âUnderstood, Mr. Yates,â Joshua replied, and then he left.
His thinking was simple. Before the divorce, he had no idea about Cynthiaâs identity or who her parents
were, and he had not visited them. Although they were now divorced, be still had to make up for what
he missed before.
Jonathan was still wondering why Joshua suddenly left, obediently following his order. He was
surprised at how compliant he
Just as he snapped back to reality, he saw Cynthia and Shirley both staring at him.
âW-Whatâs wrong?â Jonathan looked completely bewildered, having no idea what had happened.
âIf you respond, it means you acknowledge him. This guy is too scheming!â Shirley said angrily, starting
to criticize Joshua âHave someone return the gifts, Cynthia ordered, glancing at the neatly arranged
gifts, her brow slightly furrowed. Jonathan immediately made arrangements. However, Joshua was
really cun ning. It was as if he had anticipated their actions. Once he got in the car, he instructed Yoel
to drive away, resulting in the gifts not being returned successfully.
Jonathan felt a slight twinge of guilt as he looked at the pile of gifts, asking âWhat should we do with
these?
âAlter he settles down in Nexuria, have someone deliver the items to his place. And in the future if he
comes here again, donât open the door,â Cynthia said calmly.
âAlright,â Jonathan agreed.
Cynthia made a sound of acknowledgment and went upstairs.
âCyn!â Jonathan suddenly called out.
Cynthia paused in her tracks, her tone just as flat as before as she asked, âWhatâs the matter?â
âThe you still like him?â Jonathan wanted to understand the situation first, as he did not wish Cynthia to
be heartbroken.

about certain things. âWhat kind of feelings do you love for him?
âI donât like him, and I have no feelings for him,â Cynthia quickly replied.
During those six months, her affection for him had gradually worn away. After all the things that
happened later, even the little remaining fondness had completely dissipated.
Now, she genuinely did not like Joshua
She felt nothing
Jonathan watched her figure as she went upstairs, and a hint of worry appeared on his face. Then, he
asked Shirley, âDo you think she truly doesnât like him, or is she just afraid to like him after being hurt?â
âShe really doesnât like him,â Shirley said with confidence.
âWhy?â
