Chapter 266
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 266
âAs long as you kill Joshua, I wonât hold you accountable for what you failed to do before. The man
touched Jayleenâs face, his lips curling into a smile, his voice soft and slow as he added, âAnd Iâll grant
you wealth, prosperity, and everything you
desire.â
Jayleen clenched her hands tightly at her sides, wanting the man dead!
The intense pain from earlier still lingered on her body. It was the result of the torture inflicted by this
man after she failed to complete her mission and sought protection for her family.
Several times during that period, she had contemplated ending her own life, but she was indignant.
Why should this man be allowed to live?
The man admired the madness and hatred in her eyes, his smile growing even more audacious.
âYou want me dead?â
Jayleenâs pupils trembled, and an uncontrollable chill and fear coursed through her body.
âThatâs something you can never achieve,â the man said, his large palm resting on her cold, drenched
face.
I felt warm, but Jayleen could help but sense the danger.
âDo you think you can defy me just because your grandmother and brother are being protected?â The
manâs thumb caressed her face gently, his voice low.
Jayleen remained silent, but within her heart, an infinite worry and fear swelled.
âThey are being protected, but if I want to kill them, no amount of protection can save them. Do you
understand?â the man spoke slowly.
âWhy me?â Jayleenâs eyes were bloodshot due to her sleepless nights filled with torture during this
period.
Because you were Joshuaâs first love. The man tilted her chin, showing no concern for her hatred. âHe
wonât suspect you for getting close to him, nor will be expect that a weak and incapable person like you
would actually try to kill him.â
âCynthia would be more suitable than me,â Jayleen thought, but she did not voice it.
Jayleen felt guilty toward Cynthia.
She had already betrayed her before, and although Cynthia helped her without holding a grudge,
Jayleen could not drag her into this dangerous and desperate situation.
âYouâre overthinking âJayleen struggled to hold back her tears. âAfter what happened last time, he no
longer trusts me.â
âJust do as I say,â the man replied.
Jayleen bit her lip, her entire body aching from the wounds. Then, she looked at him and said, âMurder
is a criminal act in my home country,â
After you take care of him, Iâll have someone bring you here. You wonât face any retaliation or arrest,
and youâll have a peaceful remaining life.â The manâs voice was deep and alluring
Jayleen did not believe him.
Murder was against the law, and there was no escaping that.
Besides, she truly could not bring herself to du itâ¦
The previous incident, where she was forced to reconcile with Joshnia and break up Cynthiaâs
marriage, had already crossed her moral boundaries.
However, Jaydeen did not have a choice back then. For her familyâs safety, even if it meant
compromising her ethics, she had to do it.

Nonetheless, it was different now. This time, she would be trailing someone elseâs life for the lives of
her family. If she went through with it, she would not be able to forgive herself, let alone expect
forgiveness from her family.
âWhat do you say?â The man raised an eyebrow, seeing her long silence.
Jayleen clung to her stubbornness, despite the pain coursing through her entire body
I wonât do it.â
Is that so? Then I guess Iâll have to inform your brother and grandmother about your role as a home-
wrecker, breaking up someone elseâs family. I wonder how the neighbors will view them then.âThe man
showed no signs of urgency or anger.
âYou canât be so cruel!â Jayleen was like an angry, hissing cat.
âThe choice is yours.â As he left, the man uttered, âYou have three days to consider whether to listen to
me or hold onto your own principles. The choice is yours.â
With that, he left the basement, leaving Jayleen in a disheveled state, once again consumed by
darkness and despair.
