When they entered one of the stores, Shirley went in to try on clothes, and the salesperson, noticing

Joshua standing outside, asked Cynthia tentatively, “Miss, is the gentleman outside with you?

“No,” Cynthia replied calmly.

With her naturally beautiful appearance and composed demeanor, the salesperson believed her

She hesitated but decided to advise Cynthia, “When you leave later, be careful. It seems like he has

Shirley bought two pieces of clothing, and Cynthia helped her carry them.

For the next few hours, Cynthia and Shirley continued shopping. However, Shirley was the one doing

most of the buying. Nonetheless, whenever they found something suitable for Cynthia, Shirley bought it

At four o’clock, Joshua watched them enter another store, slightly frowning

He was genuinely curious.

How could Shirley, who appeared petite, cute, and fragile, continue shopping for four hours?

It was not that he was tired. It was mainly because, throughout the entire journey, he had received too

many strange looks.

Those gazes made it seem like he was some kind of stalker.

Ten minutes later, Cynthia and Shirley emerged from the store, and Joshua walked up to them and

initiated a conversation with Cynthia. “How much longer do you want to shop?”

Both of them looked at him with puzzled expressions, not understanding why he would ask such a

question.

How long they wanted to shop seemed unrelated to him.

“I need to talk to you about something.” Joshua’s gaze fell on Cynthia

“Did you forget about the promise you made before?” Cynthia’s emotions were rather muted, and she

no longer had the impulse to get angry as soon as she saw him.

“I didn’t forget.” Joshua’s gaze was deep, his voice as low as ever. “I just wanted to explain a few things

to you.”

Cynthia remained as indifferent as ever. “We have no relationship between us. If you need to explain

something, you don’t have to do it with me. If it’s business–related, you should talk to the Yates Group

president.”

With that one sentence, Cynthia blocked Joshua’s attempt.

No matter what he wanted to discuss, he could not avoid the distinction between personal and

business matters.

The more distant and Indifferent she appeared, the more Joshua wanted to establish a connection with

her, disrupt her calm – demeanor, see her get angry with him, and show some emotional fluctuations.
