“I’m done playing. Go ahead and mess around all you want. When Cynthia is with someone

else, you’ll regret it.” Old Man Neal lost interest in chess, and Joshua had managed to upset his

mood

Joshua did not respond but simply poured him a cup of tea and handed it over.

Watching him like this, Old Man Neal could help but feel both love and anger. Whenever he

scolded Joshua, he did not get angry but tried to soothe the temperamental old man.

Old Man Neal surrendered, feeling both helpless and complex, and asked, “What exactly are

you thinking?”

Joshua kept his thoughts deeply hidden “I’m not.”

Old Man Neal almost exploded in frustration. After staring at his calm face for a while, he finally

gave up on the conversation and dismissed him with a grumble, “Go away, don’t bother me.”

Joshua left. Anyway, Moses was there.

Joshua decided to go and check the banquet arrangements at the hotel. Although Felix was

responsible for the setup, it was better to confirm and avoid any surprises.

When he armed at the hotel, Felix was about to leave. Seeing Joshua’s return, Felix greeted him,

followed by a remark, “Did your grandpa lock you out?”

Joshua did not reply.

Felix patted his shoulder. “Just get used to it.”

“When you were young, weren’t you also rejected?” Joshua shot back

Their encounters were usually full of banter, but foshua, the inexperienced one, always ended up losing

“Though I was rejected, at least I brought him a grandson. What about you? What do you have? Felix’s

Joshua felt annoyed that his comment did not affect Felix.

“When you were a child, you were so adorable and honey–tongued.” Felix looked him up and down. “If

you want to win Cynthia back, maybe using that tactic would work better.”

“You’re so childish,” Joshua replied

Joshua did not want to dwell on the past. He felt embarrassed whenever be thought about how he used

to act cute and clingy to Old Man Neal just to prevent him from scolding Felix when he came home.

Felix smiled. Indeed, you’re not adorable anymore, I should have given you more apples back then so

you’d continue being

the apple of our eyes.”

Joshua remained quiet.

“I’m leaving this to you. I’m going to accompany my dear wife,” Felix said, smiling,

Joshua frowned.

At this age, Felix still could not break the habit of showing off their affection.

Although he complained, Joshua felt reassured.

Daphne did not choose the wrong person.

Felix had shown her through his actions that he would truly love her for a lifetime.

After suppressing these thoughts, Joshua proceeded with the arrangements.

In the shadows, Felix stood with Daphne, watching Joshua pet busy.

Felix embraced her and spoke gently, “He has grown up, and there are some things that we

don’t need to worry too much about.”

“It’s all your fault!” Daphine scolded him tenderly

Felix raised an eyebrow.

Why was he blamed for this?

“Alright, I’m the blame.” Even though he thought otherwise, he still reassured Daphne, “I’ll

make sure to bring Cynthia to Jiverton and let them live happily together.”

“No way,” Daphne refused.
