Shirley blinked her mischievous and innocent eyes and asked, “What about it?”

“Even though my marriage didn’t end well, I hope you won’t be discouraged by it. If you meet. someone

worth it, don’t give up,” Cynthia replied, afraid that Shirley would lose hope in marriage.

“Don’t worry,” Shirley reassured her.

The two sisters chatted lovingly.

Mr. Yates watched the scene and felt a surge of happiness. He was willing to pay any price as long as

his two daughters were well.

“I need to talk to Chairman Yates about something. We’ll talk more when you’re feeling better,

Cynthia said in front of Mr. Yates, still addressing him coldly.

Shirley readily agreed.

Mr. Yates followed Cynthia to the corridor.

He always lacked confidence when facing Cynthia, as he was filled with guilt.

“Cyn, what do you want to talk to me about?”

“Who is the current president of the Yates Group?” Cynthia asked.

“Your cousin, Kendrick Yates,” he replied.

“Is it possible to give me a position as an investment advisor? I also want the project details. with the

Neal Group,” Cynthia was emotional as she asked.

Mr. Yates was stunned.

His eyes flickered with emotions. “D–Do you want to return to the Yates Group?”

“Only for a job, not to inherit it,” Cynthia replied concisely.

“Okay, I’ll arrange it later,” Mr. Yates said excitedly. Then, he asked with even more

excitement, “Besides the details of the project with the Neal Group, do you need anything else?

“Give me a list of the new projects the Yates Group will undertake too,” Cynthia answered. She had

always been straightforward in her work.

Until today, she had never thought of hitting Joshua in the face.

Just like what she had said to him before, ‘A good ex should be like the dead.”

However, what he said today upset her, and she wanted to confront him in his familiar field.

“Okay,” Mr. Yates agreed quickly.

He had long wanted Cynthia to return and inherit the company. Unfortunately, she was not interested in

being the heir at all.

Despite having great business talent, she never joined the Yates Group.

Cynthia was indifferent as she thought about going to Jiverton to collect the divorce. certificate.

She soon said, “I’ll first understand the situation during this period and then officially take the job after I

receive the divorce certificate.”

Mr. Yates had no objections. “Okay, you can come whenever you want.

Cynthia nodded.

Over the next few days, Joshua did not contact Cynthia and was busy with his meetings, while Cynthia

was busy investigating Shirley’s incident.

In the blink of an eye, seven days pass.

After a comprehensive examination, Shirley was discharged from the hospital after confirming that

there were no after–effects.

Fortunately, her arm fracture was not too serious, and she recovered after a few days of rest in the

hospital.

It would have taken at least a month to recover if it were serious.

As for the injury on her head, it only seemed terrifying due to the excessive bleeding. With Jimmy’s

superb medical skills, Shirley recovered relatively quickly, but she still needed to tend to the injury on

her forehead daily.

Mr. Yates personally picked her up and took her back.

Shirley sat in the car feeling a little gloomy.

“Cynthia is investigating your incident. She submitted all the evidence to the police a few days ago.

After the review by the prosecutor’s office, it will be transferred to the court for

prosecution,” Mr. Yates explained to her for Cynthia’s sake.

“Have you found out who did it?” Shirley perked up suddenly.
