Chapter 361
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 361
âI can explain.â Cynthia rubbed her brows, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
un with.
The person on the other end remamed silent, clearly wanting to see what kind of explanation she could
come up
âI was locked in a room with a friend, and the scent inside could affect oneâs temperature. I just wanted
to call you and calm down.â Cynthia changed her wording, but she knew Captain would understand.
Hearing her words, the man on the other end did not know whether to be angry or amused.
Calling him to calm herself down?
Only she could come up with something like that.
âAre you calm now?TM
âYes, I am.â
âAre the surroundings safe?â
âYes.â
With these answers, the person on the other end of the phone felt slightly reassured. Now that he was
relieved, he said Straightforwardly, âSince youâre safe, there are some matters we should talk about.â
âWhat is it?!!
âAbout how you used me to calm down.â
Captain emphasized the words âcalm downâ.
Cynthiaâs worries resurfaced. âWhat about?â
âWe can talk about it when we meet in person.â Captain could not bring himself to say
He wanted to tell Cynthia to be responsible for her choice of words.
He was sure that Cynthiaâs shocked expression would be a sight to behold.
Cynthia was confused.
Meet in person?
Was Captain coming back?
Or did he have something for them to do?
the words.
âTake that man to the bathroom. Just because you left the team doesnât mean you should forget how to
protect yourself,â Captain suddenly said, sounding somewhat casual.
Cynthia obediently agreed, âOkay.â
âIs that person Joshua Neal?â
Cynthia was truly shocked.
She even suspected if Captain had placed surveillance on her.
How else would he know about this?
âI donât want to meddle in your personal life,â Captainâs tone carried a hint of indifference, but his words
were serious. âBut thereâs something I want to tell you.â
âWhat is it?â
âMen are like teammates. Once they betray you, you canât trust them again.â
Chapter 361
2/2
With just a simple sentence, Cynthia understood everything and realized that Captain probably knew
about her situation.
âI know.â
âDo you still need to calm down?â
Cynthia fell helpless hearing Captainâs question. Nonetheless, she was completely and utterly sober
now.
âNo need.â
âIf thereâs anything, call me.â
âokayâ
As the call ended, Cynthiaâs tense heart relaxed.
Captain looked at the call log on his phone, and his well-defined fingers rubbed his brows. Eventually,
he put down the phone to attend to other matters
He knew Cynthia would be able to handle that matter.
After hanging up, Cynthia called Moses and told him she and Joshua were locked in a room. She
explained Joshuaâs current condition and asked Moses to buy something and pretend to look for them.
Moses followed her instructions.
Nearly twenty minutes later, someone knocked on the door of their room.
Cynthia immediately tapped on the door in response. Moses saw something on the door and quickly
removed it for them.
It seemed that Moses was reliable in crucial moments, after all.
As the door opened, Moses also saw the situation inside the room-Joshua was lying on the bed, and
his complexion was not
great
Cynthia simply said, âGive me the items and leave. Wait outside the door for a while.â
