Chapter 370
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 370
Why was Joshua asking him to think from a girlâs perspective?
Yoel was not a girl, so how could he possibly know what girls truly think?
Did Joshua misunderstand something about him?
Joshua stopped talking to him and closed his eyes to rest.
Yoel had been silently mocking Joshua in his mind, but as he continued to mock, he suddenly
discovered something crucialâ¦.
Did Joshuaâs previous words convey something about him and Cynthia?
Yorl wanted to ask, but seeing that Joshua had already fallen asleep, he decided not to disturb hirm.
In the following days, Joshua and Yorl attended their collaboration. Although Joshua had something on
his mind, it was completely unnoticeable during the discussion. He effortlessly navigated through the
conversation, appearing calm and relaxed, and the collaboration went smoothly.
However, things were not as smooth for Cynthia
Just two days after returning from Jiverton, Jonathan told her that old Man Yates wanted to see her.
âIf you donât want to go, I can tell him youâre busy and decline on your behalf.â Jonathan cared about
her and did not want her to feel uncomfortable.
Cynthia declined, âHeâs an elder, and I should visit him.â
Seeing her determination, Jonathan did not say much. Even so, he reminded her, âNo matter what he
says, donât take it to heart. If thereâs something you canât resolve, Iâm here for you.â
âOkay,â Cynthia responded.
After changing her clothes, the driver drove Cynthia to the old manor.
She arrived in the afternoon and found Michelle there as well, serving tea and water in front of the
elderly gentleman, saying all sorts of nice things to please him.
Cynthia walked over and greeted simply, âHello, Grandpaâ
âI thought you had forgotten about me, your grandfather. You havenât contacted the family in over two
years, and you donât. even visit during the holidays. Now that youâre finally back, you still donât visit,â
Old Man Yates expressed his dissatisfaction and glanced at Cynthia.
âThere have been many things keeping me busy, so I couldnât make it,â Cynthia responded calmly.
Old Man Yates did not believe her at all. âHmmph!â
Cynthia did not waste any time and went straight to the point, asking, âDad said you wanted to see me.
What is it about?â
âAre you only coming when thereâs something wrong? Canât you learn something from Michelle?â Old
Man Yates was very displeased with her attitude.
Cynthia remained silent.
This conversation reminded her of a stuntlar scene from when she was with the Neal family, with Old
Man Neal saying similar words to others. No wonder those people had looked at her with displeasure.
It was indeed something that attracted resentiment.
âEver since your dad started seeing Michelleâs mother, Michelle visits me almost every other day. The
number of times she visits in a month is more than the number of times you and Shirley come in a
year,â Old Man Yates scolded.
âYouâre right,â Cynthia replied.

Shirley and Cynthia never had a particularly deep bond with Old Man Yates.
He and Old Man Neal were two completely different types of people.
Old Man Neal was sharp-tongued but tender-hearted, allowing his children to make their own choices
as long as they didnât go astray.
However, Old Man Yates was used to having people obey him. His words were to be followed, and his
orders were to be obeyed. If one did not comply with him, he would get angry, displaying a bit of
chauvinism.
Cynthia was grateful that Old Man Yatesâ chauvinistic attitude did not influence Jonathan. After
Katherine married into the family, Jonathan treated her well
Whenever Old Man Yates made demands of Katherine, Jonathan would step in proactively.
Even though Jonathan said it was to provide a good environment for their upbringing, Cynthia
sometimes wondered if they had truly loved each other.
After all, could one care for so many details without genuine love, relying solely on a sense of
responsibility?
