Chapter 419
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 419
âFrom the moment you found out that Joshua was going to divorce me for Jayleen, you started making
your move. After all, in your eyes, if Jayleen and I ended up mutually destroying each other, Joshua
wouldnât choose either of us.â
Samanthaâs face still bore a look of confusion, as if she did not comprehend why Cynthia would
suggest such things.
âBut when you realized that the car accident did not go as planned, you ruined Jayleenâs reputation.
When Joshua didnât care about that, you started planning something else
âWait a minute,â Samantha interrupted her.
Cynthia gestured for her to speak.
âAre you sure you havenât watched too many melodramatic TV shows?â Samantha asked.
âI donât have time to joke around with you.â Cynthiaâs tone was cold.
really donât understand what youâre talking about. If any of what youâre saying really happened, you
should report it to the police. They can investigate much faster.â Samantha clearly did not want to stay
any longer.
Cynthiaâs gaze fixed on her, Samanthaâs words and reactions were perfectly watertight. If Joshua were
present, he might have thought Cynthia was blaming the innocent.
âIâll say it one last time: I donât like Joshua.â Samantha stood up, sounding impatient.
âThen why are you still holding onto the doll Joshua gave you in middle school? You even keep it in
your bedroom,â Cynthia
scrutinized her.
Upon hearing this, Samanthaâs body stiffened.
Cynthia continued, âConsidering your familyâs status, Ms. Tanz, couldnât you get any doll you wanted?
Why keep something from someone unimportant for such a long time?
âHow do you know about it? Samanthaâs innocent demeanor was replaced with a colder tone.
âNow, are you ready to have a serious conversation?â Cynthia asked.
Without this piece of information, breaking through Samanthaâs defenses would have been nearly
impossible. Samantha was an expert in disguising her true intentions.
âItâs just a doll. It doesnât prove anything. Is it wrong to keep a memento from the first hero of my
youth?â Samantha readily
admitted.
That being said, she remembered every detail of that day.
She was waiting for her brother to pick her up when she ran into trouble. Josina came to her aid,
fighting off the bad guys. Seeing her cry, he bought her a doll to console her.
She e knew Joshua saw her as a sister because he was close friends with her brother. However, as a
young girl, she could not help but develop feelings for the handsome and righteous Joshua.
Before she knew it, he had won her heart.
âIf itâs just a memento, then why did you have your grandfather propose a marriage alliance to Okl Man
Neal in your adulthood?â Cynthia asked coldly.
Samanthaâs brow furrowed imperceptibly.
What was wrong with Cynthia?
âWhat are you trying to say?â she asked directly.
âI revisited all the events and found a common thread. The mastermind behind every incident is
someone who sought you
out. Would they do such things without your instruction? Cynthia said, finding Samanthaâs nature rather
unsettling.
Of course, those behind the scenes had ways of keeping their hands clean, ultimately letting the ones
who carried out their plans shoulder the blame. Samantha seemed to have quickly calmed down. âI do
not understand what you are saying.â
