After departing, they headed directly to the vacation villa Kendrick had mentioned. By the time they

arrived, it was past three in the afternoon. No sooner had Moe parked the car than they heard

someone calling, “Cynthia?”

Cynthia was slightly taken aback. She glanced to her side to see Chyler just getting out of his car.

Without waiting for her to speak, Chyler opened his car door again, fetched something, and started

walking toward her. “Good that you are here. I have something to discuss with you.”

“Go on,” Cynthia responded in her usual terse manner.

“I’d like to have a thorough discussion about Ellora,” Chyler stated, lifting the divorce agreement in his

hand.

“Alright,” Cynthia consented.

So, Chyler led Cynthia away. When he noticed Moe following them, a faint frown creased his forehead.

With a touch of complexity, he began, “This gentleman…”

“He’s my personal assistant,” Cynthia replied without elaborating,

Reading the situation, Chyler deduced that if he suggested Moe wait here, Cynthia would probably

object, so he simply took both of them along

Soon, Chyler guided them to a quiet room within the villa. He handed the divorce agreement to Cynthia

straightaway. “Take a look. If there’s no problem, could you pass it on to Ellora?”

As Cynthia scanned through the document, Chyler appeared to be hesitating. It seemed like he wanted

to say something but struggled to find the right words

“Fifty million?” Cynthia eyed the amount specified in the agreement.

“Yes,” confirmed Chyler.

Cynthia did not respond but continued to scan through the agreement, seemingly uninterested.

Noticing her lack of interest, Chyler said, “Do you think it’s insufficient?”

“From a legal perspective, property acquired during a marriage is joint property. Therefore, upon

divorce, each party should. get half. What do you think?” Cynthia stated nonchalantly, not looking up

from the agreement.

Chyler did not seem surprised. He simply responded, “Half each is fine, but I have a condition.”

“What’s that?”

“I want custody of the child.”

“Dream on.” Cynthia tossed back at him without a second’s hesitation.

“Ellora won’t be able to provide a stable life for the child. How can she juggle raising a child and

earning a living all by herself? Her parents certainly won’t help her,” Chyler said frankly, bordering on

brutally realistic,

Cynthia did not respond, choosing instead to see what else Chyler had to say.

“With me, I can provide the best educational environment and standard of living. The child would never

have to worry about money in his entire life.” Chyler laid out his proposition deliberately.

“Certainly, he won’t have to worry about monry, but I can’t be sure he won’t be spoiled,” Cynthila

admitted

“What do you mean by that?” Chyler’s brows furrowed.

Cynthia did not hold back “I don’t think your family, the Youngs, are fit to raise a child, given that they

raised you, whose character and quality leave much to be desired.”

“Cynthia“” Chyler was infuriated.

“All the problems you just mentioned, I can help Ellora solve them. If she wants to focus on her career,

I’ll care for her child If she wants to raise her child, she can do so,” Cynthia retorted confidently.

“Do you really believe that in your heart, or is it just something you say to get rid of me? When some

time has passed, won’t you suspect that Ellora is befriending you for your money?” Chyler looked

skeptical.
