“You should come to my training base and practice.” Matthew was genuinely concerned about his

physical condition.

Jimmy and Mitchell were shocked

They both looked at Matthew and blurted out, “Training base?

“It’s a training base I applied for with the organization. There are retired teammates and others there,

Matthew explained.

Jimmy was on the verge of trars.

It seemed like he would be put through training again.

“What did Cynthia say when she left?”

“What was she going to do?”

her when she comes back?”

“Mitchell.” Matthew glanced over at him.

Mitchell remained calm and composed, reply

Jimmy was taken aback

“You clearly know!

Jimmy blurted out, “You know Cynthia went to…”

I’m not sure. Cynthia probably only told Jimmy.”

Mitchell intentionally pretended to be ignorant, lawding that this matter could not be discussed in front

of Matthew.

“Nothing! I’m the only one who knows, so crop it!” Jimmy buffed, feeling indignant.

Mitchell’s expression remained unchanged, showing little emotion. However, little did Jimmy know

Mitchell’s heart was pounding, as he had never lied to Matthew before.

After a while, Cynthia arrived.

The moment Jimmy saw her, he rushed over as if he had seen a savior, tearfully exclaiming, “Cynthia,

Mitchell bullied me!”

Cynthia was surprised, still holding a laptop in her hand.

After glancing at Mitchell, she asked, “Bulled you? How?”

“Just now, Captain asked me what you were doing, and I told him to ask Mitchell Mitchell said you only

told me, not him. Please help me,” Jimmy rattled off.

Cynthia did not think much of it and answered, “I really didn’t tell him.”

“Cynthia! Jimmy was in disbelief. “How can you blatantly lie like that?”

that Mitchell didn’t know?

This confused Cynthia even more.

She replied calmly, “I only told you when I left. I didn’t tell the others.”

“‘in talking about the matter concerning that person,” Jimmy continued in a bushed voice

This time, Cynthia understood why Jimny had been tricked.

It was easy for someone to exploit that statement.

“Finished with your errands?” Matthew asood.

Cynthia responded, “Yes”

“Get somme rest over there and wait for us. We’ll freshen up,” Matthew blurted out, nothing their sweat-

soaked bodies

Matthew and the others quickdy took showers and changed into their original clothes

They were efficient, finishing in just ten minutes before heading toward the parking lot.

When Cynthia saw Mitchell get into the driver’s seat, she said, “I’ll go with Mitchell. I have something to

discuss with him.”

“Sure.” Matthew did not say much.

Mitchell pursed his lips, feeling helpless.

Once they were in the car, Mitchell looked at Cynthia in the passenger seat. “Why are you avoiding

Captain?”

“Is it that obvious?”

Cynthia was unaware that Mitchell was now on Matthew’s side.

Mitchell replied, “Even a blind man can notice it. Those who don’t know might think you two have some

conflict.”

Cynthia was shocked, and she recalled Shirley’s comment before.
