Chapter 509
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 509
Brushing Sean aside, Joshua spoke to Cynthia, âYou should go first. I have some business to discuss
with him.â
âHeâs not a good man,â Cynthia wamed.
âMs. Yates, isnât it impolite to speak of someone in their presence?â Sean chuckled, one hand in his
pocket.
Cynthia responded flatly, âAnd isnât it worse to take advantage of someone in a difficult situation?â
Sean raised an eyebrow in intrigue.
He was genuinely curious about Ms. Yates, who seemed to understand him so well
âDo we know each other?â
âNo
ot want to reveal that she was K
Cynthia did not wish to have much contact with him. Unless necessary, she did not want
âWhy are you showing so much hostility toward me? I just saved your life,â Sean asked, dragging out
his words.
Cynthia stayed silent.
She was loath to admit it.
However, it was indeed the case.
âDo you think you were the one who saved her?â Joshua suddenly chimed in.
Sean maintained his smile. He silently cursed Joshua as a cunning swindler, playing mind games even
at a time like this. Quickly, he changed his words, âNo, you were the one who sawed her.â
âYou go first,â Joshua suggested, feeling a dizzy spell coming on. His vision was growing dark, and his
ears were buzzing. He knew he could not hold out much longer âOnce Iâm better, Iâll contact you. He
still needs me to do him a favor. He wonât leave me in the lurch.â After saying this, he nudged Sean with
his elbow,
Sean, not knowing what Joshua was up to, nevertheless spoke up. âHeâs right.â
âYouâre really not coming with me?
âI have things to do.â
In his curt response, Cynthia detected a coldness in Joshuaâs eyes. She wanted to insist on taking him
to the hospital. However, given their current relationship, it seemed inappropriate. Since he was
resolute, she did not press further.
Continuing the conversation would only delay Seanâs efforts to get Joshua medical attention.
In the end, she told him, âCall me if you need anything and donât trust Sean blindly. Heâs as cunning as
you are.â
âAlright, Iâll red your advice.â Joshua just wanted Cynthia to leave quickly, as he was losing his strength.
Cynthia nodded.
She took a few steps, then turned to look back, but eventually, she left.
Although Sean was a psychiatrist, he had many friends in the medical field. Even if Joshuaâs fever was
severe, they could treat
âYour exâwife is really interesting. She keeps badâmouthing me in front of my face,â Sean commented,
hands in his pockets, âHmm,â Joshua merely responded, his gaze lingering on Cynthia until she
disappeared from sight.
Sean chuckled, about to make a sarcastic remark, when he saw Joshua faint.
âJoshua!â He managed to catch him just in time.
As he was about to say something, he felt a damp spot where he caught him, and remembered their
previous mention of a
gunshot wound
Suddenly, a sense of foreboding arose within him.
Pulling his hand away from Joshuaâs back, he saw blood on his palm. His eyes scammed the yacht,
spotting a few drops of blood where Joshua had just been standing.
Sean gritted his teeth, ready to berate him, âJoshua, you are quite troublesome. No wonder you were
rushing your exâwife to leave, even thoughs you were clearly reluctant.â
Sean had thought that Joshua was a man of his word. Now, it seemed like it was all a nose to get
Cynthia to leave.
