“You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” Cynthia said, wanting to see how far Joshua could pretend.

Then, she turned to Yoel and added, “Handle that matter you mentioned on your own. If you can’t

resolve it, I’ll take responsibility for any losses.”

Yorl froze.

How was he supposed to respond to that?

“Go freshen up, I’ll go wake up Shirley for breakfast,” Cynthia continued while smoothly blocking the

line of sight between Joshna and Yool.

“Cynthia…” Joshua was stunned. He wanted to convey something to Yoel but realized his line of sight

was completely blocked.

If things continued like this, Yoel’s trip would be in vain!

Cynthia played along, “What’s the matter?

“Maybe 1 should still go. He came so early, so it must be something important,” Joshua spoke as if he

had carefully considered it, showing a newfound sense of maturity

“Yes, that’s right! It’s really important! Yorl hurriedly agreed.

Cynthia looked at him, asking casually, “But didn’t you say you didn’t want to go?”

“I didn’t want to go because I was afraid you would abandon me to him. But just now, I realized you

wouldn’t leave me behind. “Joshua presented his argument logically, malding it difficult to refute.

“Are you sure?

“Yes.” Joshua obediently nodded

Cynthia glanced at Yoel, then instructed Joshua, “Alright, if you’re not happy over there, just call me,

and I’ll have the bodyguard pick you up.”

With a brief exchange, Yoel took Joshua away.

Cynthia asked Yoel to inform her about their discussion later to understand Joshua’s situation better,

and Yoel agreed.

On the way back, Joshua sat in the passenger seat.

Yorl could not quite grasp Joshua’s thoughts. Despite having the mindset of a five–year–old, his

presence was still quite domineering. Moreover, Joshua was entirely different in front of Cynthia.

In front of Cynthia, he would address her sweetly, be polite, well–behaved, and obedient overall. Yet

now, he emitted a cold and distant aura that was unsettling.

Yoel poured Joshua some tea and sat across fram him. “Mr. Neal, what would you like to talk to me

about?”

“I don’t want anyone to know what we discussed today. Especially Cynthia,” Joshua emphasized before

starting.

Yoel was shocked, but thankfully he was adept at handling such situations. He recognized that the

person before him was not the real Joshua, and he did not detect anything unusual.

With his signature smile, Yoel assured him, “You can rest assured that I’ll keep everything secret.”

“Tell me everything about our relationship. Especially what you mentioned about our divorce,” Joshua

asked, emphasizing a particular point.

He understood the meaning of divorce but did not understand why he and Cynthia would be getting

divorced.
