Chapter 58
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
hapter 58
Cynthia could not understand why Jayleen was so in love with Joshua and, even more so, why Jayleen
needed to prove something to her, especially after already having won him over.
It was truly outrageous.
Jayleenâs eyes showed a determination to take a risk.
Just as she was about to do something, Cynthia spoke up, âIf youâre thinking of setting me up by
tripping or bumping into me, donât bother. Thereâs a security camera over there.â
Jayleen looked over and suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
If Joshua were to investigate later and find out that she had done something intentionally, all her efforts
would have been in
vain.
Cynthia ignored Jayleen and left with her things.
As soon as she got home, Cynthia received several messages from Jimmy.
[Little Jerry: Holy crap! Cynthia, guess what I found out?]
[Little Jerry: Your future exâhusbandâs lover is something else.]
[Little Jerry: Itâs insane!]
Cynthia put down her laptop and sat on the sofa, calling Jimmy directly, âDid you investigate her?â
âI was just curious about what kind of person could say such shameless things. But I found out a
shocking secret.â Jimmy sounded a bit nervous, but he became excited at the thought of the gossip.
âKeep whatever you know to yourself,â Cynthia was not interested in these things.
âDonât you want to know why Jayleen returned?â Jimmy had found her name when searching online.
Cynthia replied with her usual indifferent attitude, âItâs none of my business.â
âShe came back for Joshuaâs money to use it to support another man,â Jimmy revealed what he knew
to Cynthia.
Cynthia remained quiet.
âIâm serious!â Jimmy had his phone to his ear while typing on his keyboard. Then, he sent a screenshot
to Cynthia. âLook at the screenshot I sent you. Apparently, they broke up because Joshua did not give
her enough attention.â
Cynthia was even more confused.
She really had no interest in this and reminded Jimmy, âDonât search for othersâ personal information in
the future. Cyber-
attacks are illegal in this country.â
âAre you really not curious?â
âNot at all.â
After a brief conversation, Cynthia ended the call with Jimmy. To be frank, she was completely
uninterested in why Jayleen returned or why they broke up.
As long as it did not affect her, she would not be concerned about it.
Meanwhile, Jayleen returned to the apartment Joshua had bought for her and called him, crying about
Cynthiaâs behavior
earlier.
Jayleen was as pitiful as usual. âI didnât expect her to say those things. Do you think Grandpaâs
impression of me will get worse?â
âWhy did you go see her?â Joshua frowned. He had a lot of documents that required signing in front of
him.
âDâDid I do something wrong?â Jayleen stopped crying.
âCynthia has nothing to do with our affairs, and Iâll handle any concerns you have. Donât go to her again
because of our issues. âJoshuaâs voice was calm, but tired.
âIâm sorry.ââ
âItâs okay.â Joshuaâs mind was filled with images of Cynthia loathing him. âDonât worry about it. Iâll come
over after I finish
workâ
Jayleen obediently agreed but was upset at how Joshua asked her not to see Cynthia anymore.
Soon after hanging up the phone, the old phone that Jayleen had under her pillow suddenly vibrated,
and her face was instantly ashen.
