Chapter 625
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 625
âAre you still angry?â Old Man Neal spoke with a deep volce, resembling a gentle elder at that moment.
Joshuaâs attitude softened, though a tinge of bitterness lingered in his wards. âIâm not angry, I just donât
understand why you asked me to come back when itâs clear youâre not welcomingâ
âWe did not unwelcome your return. Youâre the most accomplished child in our family. This is how
weâve always interacted, it was my mistake not to notice your unhappiness,â Old Man Neal answered
slowly, his concern evident.
Joshuaâs expression showed a hint of surprise. His grandfather.. truly seemed to care about him.
Cynthia had not lied.
âCould you tell me what happened?â Old Man Neal inquired gently, hoping to have a heartâtoâheart
conversation
Adhering to Cynthiaâs request to maintain his former personality, Joshua was sparing with his words.
âNo.â
âItâs because of Cynthia, isnât it? The words escaped Old Man Nealâs lips.
Joshua looked over at him again. Old Man Neal was picking up the teapot to pour tea, thinking about
continuing the conversation gradually. However, Joshua beat him to it, grabbing the teapot and pouring
the tea. His actions were so adept that it surprised even him, for it was not a conscious decision but a
conditioned reflex of the body.
The look in Old Man Nealâs eyes grew complex, his heart filling with an even greater sense of ge
âJoshua, if you canât win Cynthia back, just let her co. Considering all the foelish things youâve done
and given Cynthiaâs character, sheâs unlikely to remarry you.â Old Man Neal began after much
consideration, intending to have a serious discussion with him.
Most women were softâhearted. However, Cynthia was different. While she could be tender, that
tenderness does not
influence her decisions.
âIâll win her back. As for the past, she has already forgiven me,â Joshua responded, engaging in the
conversation.
Old Man Nealâs face lit up with joy before immediately falling into a sigh Cynthias forgiveness, he
feared, was merely her way of severing any further connection. The poor boy. If only he had known this
from the beginning
âYou should go see your mother in a little while. It was my mistake. Donât let your mother suffer
because of it,â Old Man Neal suggested, noting Joshuaâs troubled state, has brows knit in complexity.
âAlright.â Joshua nodded.
After instructing him to rest well, Old Man Neal stood and left. Watching the departing figure, Joshua
felt a pang in his heart and could not help but stand up and call out, âOld Man Neal.â
Old Man Neal paused, his eyes shimmering with emotion.
âIâm sorry, I was impulsive earlier,â Joshua apologized, not wanting to cause the elder too much worry
or concern.
âIf you know you were impulsive, then go apologize to your mother. Otherwise, if your mother worries
excessively, I will certainly have to deal with you,â Old Man Neal retorted as if reinvigorated, a hint of
stubborn pride in his voice.
Joshua sighed
He really could not understand this kind of interaction. However, regardless of his understanding, he
had to admit that deep down, it was comforting. It was a different warmth than the one he felt with
Cynthia. This warmth gave him immense strength as if it could serve as the foundation for all things.
After Old Man Neal left, he obediently went to find Daphne Following Cynillaâs instructions, he played
his character perfectly and even invented a reason for feeling unwell. Daphne was his mother, and as
the person who had watched lilim grow and pave birth to hien, she quickly noticed something was off
after a brief chal
However, she did not confront Joshua directly. Instead, she waited until he had left to question Felix.
âWhatâs going on with joshua?â she asked.
âHuh?â
âDonât play dumb with me. If you donât tell me, youâre not coming into my room tonightâ
âI genuinely donât know.â
âI donât believe you.â
