Chapter 636
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 636
Jonathan glanced at her, preparing to respond but refrained, fearing his words would hurt Cynthia,
Cynthia, however, recalled it quite clearly and calmly laid it out. âDo you remember what she said as I
was preparing to go home with you after our talk on Madam Quinnâs birthday, Shirley?â
Shirley pondered and suddenly, the sentences popped into her mind.
âJonathan⦠letâs just give up. Cynthia is right, the disparity between us is too vast. If you marry me,
people in our circle will surely gossip.â
âTomorrow, Michelle and I will pack up and leave. Thank you for all the care and attention youâve shown
us, Chairman Yates.
She relayed the conversation to Cynthia and asloed, âAre these the ones?â
âCorrect,â Cynthia replied coolly. She never questioned what her father and Madan Quinn discussed
that day, and frankly, she did not care. Shirley had talked with their father about it, but Cynthia did not
know the specifics.
âI was just afraid of losing you,â Mandy defended herself, a touch of urgency creeping into her features.
Jonathan remained silent. He would not accept that excuse.
He was no longer the naive lad he was he fore his marriage. He had two daughters, and he could
endure anything else, but he could not tolerate an unjust blame on Cyn
This is not a reason to wrong Cyn. I understand you want a promising future for Michelle. However,
Yates Group belongs to Shirley and Cyn, a legacy of their motherâs efforts. It canât be handed over to
her,â Jonathan spoke with earnest sincerity.
âI could establish another company; running a business is not hard. That company could be Michelleâs
dowry.â Jonathan had considered these possibilities in the past, but they were now exhausted.
âIâm sorryâ¦â Mandy apologized, her head bowed and voice low.
In truth, she was far from accepting this reality.
Even if a new company flourished, how could it compare with a tiny share of Yates Group?
Yet, she knew that if she continued to resist, she would indeed have nothing left..
âIf there is nothing else, you may leave,â Jonathan concluded
He could still vividly remember the events of that day.
After Cyn and Shirley had left, he asked Mandy if there was a misunderstanding between her and Cyn.
He knew Cynâs nature; if she disliked Mandy, she would express it outright and not plot behind her
back.
However, Mandy fabricated a dialogue where Cynthia was bitter and sarcastic. At that moment, he
knew Mandy was deceiving him; such words were beyond what Cyn would say.
When Mandy saw his disbelief and knew her plan had failed, she confessed the true conversation
between them.
He never cared about money.
If, from the start, Mandy had been transparent about her objectives, he would have provided Michelle
with support, Initially, Mandyâs words and demeanor suggested a lack of interest in money, his
company was all she needed.
It was precisely this discrepancy and laer unfair blame on Cyn laat ended all his considerations
âJonathanâ¦canât we go back to the way we were before?â Michelle was desperate.
âNo,â Jonathan refused.
First, it was blaming Cyn. What would come next?
Would she start scheming against his two daughters!
He could not help his suspicions, he needed to be on guard against those who could harm his
daughters.
