Chapter 78
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 78
Cynthia did not even bother to acknowledge him. She planned to eat the pasta but discovered that they
had clumped together. After stirring them a couple of times, she decided not to eat them at all.
Joshua could not stand being ignored, especially since they were the only two in the living room
âIâm talking to you,â he said.
âI heard you,â Cynthia replied flatly.
âYou heard me, and youâre not going to answer?â
âJust because a dog barks at me doesnât mean I have to bark back. If you want to talk, thatâs your
business. I donât have to answer,â Cynthia retorted playfully.
Joshua ground his teeth in frustration.
This woman had just called him a dog!
âYou can leave. If you pull any more stunts before we divorce, I wonât be this forgiving,â Joshua said,
afraid that he would lose his temper if he kept her there any longer.
âDo you have a mistaken impression of yourself?â Cynthia felt the need to correct his selfâ
righteousness. âIâm the one being framed, while youâre the one causing trouble. Are you sure youâre
being forgiving and not ruthless?â
He really did not know the meaning of being forgiving.
What a conceited man.
Joshuaâs expression turned cold. âIf you didnât do those things, I wouldnât have accused you.â
Cynthia took out the remaining 15 USD she had on her and slapped it on his body.
Joshua looked confused. âWhatâs this for?â
âGo to the hospital and get your head checked. Iâll pay for it,â Cynthia said, feeling like it was a waste of
breath to talk to him any longer.
After saying that, she went upstairs to grab her phone and left the villa hurriedly, leaving the angry
Joshua behind.
Once out of the villa, Cynthia hailed a taxi and headed back home. When she had been researching
the real culprit behind Jayleenâs car accident, she had just compiled and loaded the data without
actually looking at it. Thus, she wanted to take a closer look to see who was putting in so much effort to
involve her in this.
As Cynthia planned to do that, Mitchell called.
The moment the call connected, Mitchellâs pleasant voice came through the phone.
âYouâre really back?â
Cynthia knew what he was talking about and said, âNot really. I just had to handle a tricky situation and
went to check it out.â
âBecause of Joshua.â
âMmhmm.â
âDo you have plans tonight?â
âNo.â
âLetâs meet and talk about somethingâ
âOkay.â
Their conversations were always simple and direct, with almost no small talk.
After hanging up, Cynthia received a message from Mitchell with the time and location.
She replied, [Okay.]
Then, she turned off her phone.
That evening, at a bar.
Cynthia wore a black and white outfit and went to the private dining room where Mitchell awaited her.
He was still all smiles, and the goldârimmed glasses on his face made him look elegant.
Seeing Cynthia, he greeted her, âYouâre here.â
âMmhmm.â
âI have something to show you.â Mitchell took out a stack of photos from his inner coat pocket and
placed them in front of her, exuding an elegant and refined demeanor. âThese photos are all real. Take
a look first.â
Cynthia picked up the stack of photos and looked through them one by one, realizing that they were all
candid shots of Jayleen with another man.
Some were intimate photos of the two kissings, some were photos of them being really close at a
dinner party, and there were also some photos of their daily lives.
