Chapter 80
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 80
âI havenât received a response from them. Itâs probably hard to catch,â Joshua said with a deepening
gaze. He never expected Jayleenâs situation to be so complicated. âAlthough we have recordings and
chat logs, if they insist it was just a joke, itâs hard
to fault.â
âIs it necessary for us to be called out here for such a small matter? Just let the bodyguards protect
Jayleen.â Chyler poured a glass of wine and exuded a mischievous vibe.
That was how he saw it.
Joshua said all these things because he feared the mastermind would target Jayleen again.
Yiordan also spoke up, âAre you really planning to divorce Cynthia?â
Joshua and Chyler both looked at him in confusion.
âWhat are you talking about?â Chyler raised an eyebrow lazily and leaned against the sofa. âNow that
his lover has returned, why wouldnât he want to divorce Cynthia? Was he supposed to let someone
else make Jayleen happy?â
âThis is not a childâs game of playing house.â Yiordan thought there was a problem with Joshuaâs
approach and wanted to point it out as a friend. âIf youâre divorcing Cynthia only because Jayleen has
returned, I canât support it.â
Before Joshua could respond, Chyler interrupted, âAre you okay, Yiordan? Have you lost it?â
âYou two have always had a stable relationship, proving youâre compatible. Have you thought about
whether you like Jayleen for who she is or just for the feeling of the past?â Yiordan continued, ignoring
Chylerâs remark.
Sometimes, being unable to let go of a relationship was not because you still loved that person but
because you cared about the part of yourself that gave in that relationship.
âDo you really know her well?â Joshua suddenly asked.
Yiordan could not keep up with the pace. âWhat do
you mean?â
âWhen you said Cynthia and I were compatibleâ¦?â Joshuaâs words carried a hint of chilliness, clearly
indicating that he was not in a good state. âThe past two years of marriage seemed peaceful and
loving, but that was just her pretending.â
Yiordan became more confused.
Joshua stood up and became angry at the mention of Cynthia. âSince we filed for divorce, she has
exposed her true nature, her personality is completely opposite to before.â
and
âAre you sure you wonât regret divorcing her?â Yiordan asked, looking at him with his warm eyes. As his
friend, he could tell that Joshua treated Cynthia differently than others.
Joshua was not a person who wore his heart on his sleeve, but he would easily be triggered when it
came to Cynthia.
Joshua thought Yiordanâs comment was funny, and he asked, âWhy would I regret it?â
âCynthia is a special girl.â
Yiordan did not quite know how to explain it, but that was all he said.
âWhat you all see is what she wants you to see. I know what kind of person she really is better than
anyone,â Joshua retorted.
Why did everyone think he would regret it? He knew Cynthia much better than they did.
Yiordan did not answer him.
Then, Joshua repeated, âI wonât regret getting a divorce.â
It was as if he was telling Yiordan again but also reminding himself.
Yiordan would just wait until Joshua regretted it and tried to win over Cynthia.
Then again, Joshua probably would not even have the chance.
Thinking this, Yiordan gave Joshua a friendly warning, âItâs best not to regret it. Based on my short time
with Cynthia, sheâs not one to go back on her decision. Since one of you wonât turn back and the other
wonât regret it, itâs best to go your separate ways.â
Joshua was speechless.
Was Yiordan intentionally trying to provoke him?
